My name is Jessica and I am honored to be considered as your Doula for this monumental time. My work as a Doula is focused on supporting my clients by leading with love and inclusivity, with the belief that we all have various life experiences, and regardless of those, every client of mine deserves to be loved, heard, included, and empowered to stand for their beliefs in and outside of the labor room with a constant, and reliable support. In my life I have been fortunate to experience and learn about pregnancy, labor and postpartum through others experiences before my own experience in birthing my son just under two years ago. Going through the uncertainty, intense emotions and challenges of pregnancy, birth and parenthood has brought me back to my passion of giving back to my community as a Birth Doula. Now on to why you’re here! After the birth of our first child, I realized there were some big gaps in the childbirth classes that we took. Before we became pregnant again, I was researching what we had missed and awoke a passion for childbirth and maternal care that has only deepened over the years. After our three kids were born, I became a Childbirth Educator in 2017 and a Birth Doula in 2018. I also delivered two babies as a gestational surrogate in 2019 and 2021. have been a doula since 2007 and have had the opportunity to attend a variety of births including medicated, non-medicated, multiples, VBAC’s and home-births. I use many tools to help a woman cope in labor including massage, pressure points, movement, aromatherapy and I am trained in using a TENS unit and have units that I let my clients use for their labor. I love teaching some of the tricks I have learned over the years to the dad and helping him feel a part of the birth. My goal is for the mom and dad to feel like “WE did it” as they hold their sweet baby. I feel passionate about a woman’s power and ability to have the kind of birth experience she longs for.
