I cannot say enough great things about Mkenna and the support she gave me through one of the hardest and most important experiences of my life. I unexpectedly went into labor at only 35 weeks, well before she was supposed to even be on call for me. Despite that she answered every single call and supported me from the very beginning. Unfortunately Mkenna was under the weather when I went into labor and per my decision I decided to not have her physically present. Even though I made that choice, Mkenna never once left my side emotionally or mentally via video chat through my 60-hour labor and through the birth of my son. During my labor I was diagnosed with preeclampsia, had a failed epidural, and faced multiple difficult and unexpected decisions. Through every curveball thrown, Mkenna helped me understand each of the options presented by the doctors and what each possible outcome could look like, allowing me to make informed decisions while still honoring the birth experience I wanted for myself and my baby. During labor there was a point that with my epidural failing I truly believe panic could have set in from the pain. Mkenna helped ground me in that moment. She reminded me to breathe, to use low tones, and to continue to stay focused so my body could continue to do the work. She was also the one who helped me advocate that the epidural was failing, eventually I needed both a spinal and second epidural and Mkenna continued to support me through it all. When I could feel my baby getting close, Mkenna again helped me make an informed decision where I chose to labor down. About 45 minutes later, the doctors did a cervical check and my sons head was right there - it was time to push! Just 22 minutes later my son was born. Even following the birth of my son Mkenna stayed on video to help make sure my birth plan and wishes were still being respected. No matter how many left turns my labor took, I truly believe I got through all of them with the best possible outcome because I had her support. She made me feel informed, empowered, calm, and cared for every step of the way. If you are considering hiring a doula, I can honestly say Mkenna is worth everything and more!

We hired Jeremy Anne to help care for our daughter back when she was 9 months. She was with us for about 5 months. She helped with feeding, play, naps, walking development, baby sign, minor housekeeping items and offered advice with caring for a baby. She has a wonderful holistic approach with her support. She cares about ALL family members - humans and pets alike! We loved that she wasn’t a “transactional” kind of person, she really took the time to get to know us, ask good questions and offer personal care support when needed. She also went out of her way for many things. I will always remember how she helped develop healthy boundaries with our dog as we were adjusting to our daughter’s needs. The boundaries helped build a healthy relationship with our baby and fur baby! Our daughter enjoyed being around Jeremy and she misses her I think sometimes. When my husband and I were seeking a doula, we initially selected Mylah due to the affordability of her services. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that she consistently exceeded the original scope of her responsibilities. She genuinely demonstrates care for her clients, at least that was certainly our experience. Without delving into excessive detail, employing a doula was a crucial decision for support during this pregnancy. I have historically encountered difficulties advocating for myself with various medical professionals, my family, my workplace, and virtually all aspects of my life. I had grown quite weary of these challenges, but Mylah was instrumental in making this entire journey a success for us. She remained steadfast in her support, never dismissing my feelings, and consistently checking in on my husband and me, even inquiring about our son to see how he was adjusting. We dedicated months to crafting the birth plan, and she provided me with videos and feedback on exercises to prepare my body for the approaching day. When circumstances necessitated a medically induced labor, she maintained her composure. Adapting to the situation and providing the stability we needed for a successful unmedicated labor followed by a medicated vaginal birth. It is safe to say that without her, I do not believe I would have mentally navigated this pregnancy well. Previously, although I couldn't articulate it at the time, I experienced the onset of postpartum depression shortly after my son's birth. This time, despite being connected to a continuous infusion of IV medications, experiencing minor bleeding after birth, receiving significantly less support from other sources, and encountering numerous additional challenges, I can joyfully state that I am thriving, not merely surviving. I am uncertain how the remainder of this year will unfold, but I am confident that I will genuinely cherish the memories of my daughter's birth and newborn days. When anticipating giving birth for the first time, I couldn’t have imagined just how crucial Tynesha’s role would be at my natural birth. Our prenatal sessions were informative and important for building a rapport that enabled her to support me exactly as I needed during my labor. During contractions, she offered pain relief by using counter-pressure techniques and heat application, as well as massage between contractions for my aching back. She anticipated my needs to suggest new positions and helped me establish a focal point (a candle) that became critical to staying calm during intense contractions and during the pushing phase. She supported my husband throughout the process as well, guiding him in assisting me. I labored at the natural birth center for 30 hours before giving birth, and Tynesha stayed by my side for almost the entire time - taking only a few very short rest breaks for herself - never showing me her fatigue but always providing calm, steady encouragement. The emotional support she provided reassured me when I felt overwhelmed. In addition to the important help she offered during my labor, Tynesha’s prenatal and postpartum visits have been wonderful. She has given me many ideas for caring for myself and my new baby as well as hands on support at my home. She provided a referral to a lactation consultant by contacting the consultant on my behalf with all of the information she had collected regarding my breastfeeding, streamlining the process. Her detailed written notes on my labor proved valuable as well when I had questions weeks after giving birth. I also need to say that Tynesha has a great sense of humor! Our appointments were truly fun and we shared lots of laughs, which has been especially important to me amid the challenges of the postpartum period.

Hands down the best doula I could have asked for! I’ve had 2 births without a doula and decided to have one for my 3rd birth. Previously I had epidurals and wanted to try a natural birth. I was able to voice my desires with Chloe and she truly gave me the courage to do it. My labor intensified so quick from early labor to transition within an hour. By the time I made it to the hospital I was already in transition, Chloe showed and immediately started doing whatever she could to help ease the pain and my inexperience with labor pains. One day I was talking to my spiritual coach who told me my ancestors told her I was a medicine healing lady, and my life purpose was to be a midwife. I never thought to be one even though I heard so many people talked about having midwives and doula when I was pregnant with my son. I decided to do some research and I fell in love with the results and became a certified trained birth/postpartum doula through Madriella Doula Network. Being other women and families support system is my top priority. Rather it’s in a home, birthing center, or hospital I’m there! I am now attending a midwifery program at Midwives College of Utah (MCU) and trusting the process of this new journey. I look forward to meeting with you and vibing off good and positive energy.
