Babies have always been my passion! Like Tisha said, I always knew my career would be working with babies. I applied to nursing school knowing I was going to work in OB and that's exactly what I did. After having my first child in 2014 I realized the need for more lactation consultants. I struggled a lot with him and had no one to turn to for answers, so I began doing my own research. I was determined to make this work. And that is how my lactation career started! I started my lactation training not even knowing if I would be able to get a job doing what I had become so passionate about. My family and I made some life changes and everything fell right into place. Tisha and I always casually talked about starting a business but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would actually happen. But here we are! I absolutely love my job and could talk about breastfeeding all day long. I strive to do everything I can to help each mom meet their personal breastfeeding goals. I am very passionate about tongue ties and food allergies in breastfeeding since I personally experienced that with my 2 nursing journeys. Breastfeeding does not come naturally for everyone and it definitely isn't as easy as some think. My name is Kelsey Smith. I am a wife, mother, RN, Lactation Educator and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. In 2015, my daughter was born and so was my passion for the world of lactation. With both children, breastfeeding didn't come easily. Each new child brought new challenges that with hard work and perseverance, we ultimately overcame. I saw this world that could be so beautiful and so incredibly frustrating all at the same time and knew I wanted to be a part of it. I began a clinical internship in 2022 at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah, where I worked until 2024 in the mother-baby unit, NICU, and pediatric settings. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years. I've been a teen mom, NICU mom, single mom, working mom, and a married mom. My experience as a mother is helpful as I provide you with support.
