Hi, I'm Eleanor Trenary. I believe that all expectant parents deserve an empowered birthing experience. No matter how you give birth, you should feel like you understand your options and are respected, supported, and cared for throughout your birthing journey. I am a mom with a lifelong passion for reproductive rights and gender equity, and have enjoyed being an advocate in many different settings. As my friends started having kids, and I went through my own pregnancy and birthing journey, I realized the powerful role that doulas play and the benefit of having continuous support for birthing people and their partners. I started reading and learning more about birth, taking childbirth education classes, and eventually completed full Doula and Lactation training with Community Aware Birthworker. When I’m not doula-ing, you can find me hiking, drinking tea, knitting, and soaking up snuggles with my husband and son. My first career is in public policy and I currently work as an environmental lobbyist. I graduated from Macalester College and have a Masters in Public Affairs from Indiana University.

I am 21 years old and I am also married with 2 wonderful children! I had a doula for my first birth and I've never felt so secure. I had someone who had me, my boundaries and wants in mind. I never knew what i wanted to do as a career and after that whole experience I knew exactly what i wanted to do. Birth is such a vulnerable process and emotions are high. My goal as a Doula is to remind mothers that they are powerful and courageous! I love the feeling when i see mothers realize they are meant for this and they can do it with out a doubt!!<3

I’ve personally known cylena since elementary so when I got pregnant and heard she was becoming a doula I knew I made the perfect decision having her be apart of my first pregnancy journey. She made my labor experience go very smooth and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She advocated for me at the times I wasn’t able to and made sure I was getting the care I needed and some. Working with cylena will be the best decision you ever make and I’m not being biased! She loves what she does and she’s great at it.

Hi! I'm Bria. I'm a wife and a mama to three little humans, foodie, traveler, and outdoors-lover. I'm also a birth doula and Lamaze childbirth educator. My interest in birth work began after my second baby was born. My passion is in supporting people in their journey to parenthood. Everyone wants to hold the baby.... I'm here to hold the parent[s]! After hearing countless testimonies from birthing people who wish they'd known more before giving birth, I decided to become a doula. My goal is to INFORM, ASSIST, and EMPOWER pregnant people, so that they go into their birth feeling confident and supported. As a doula, I support all birth. Whether you're planning a home birth in a tub, or a C-section in a hospital, I'm here for it. The most important thing to me is that we develop mutual trust, and that you feel comfortable with me by your side. My personality is pretty type-A, and I love numbers and evidence. One of my goals as a doula and childbirth educator is to make sure my clients always know their options, and understand the risks/benefits of the decisions they make. My childbirth ed course is designed to teach you ALL of your birthing options - not just your hospital's "policies". I'm excited to connect with you, and work with you during this lifechanging time!

Recent review

My partner and I are so grateful to be working with Bria as our birth doula, and we've now taken several childbirth education classes with her. Bria's courses are incredibly informative and her teaching style is engaging and realistic; she makes a Zoom course into a fun time! We appreciate that Bria shares all of the stats/facts and provides the framework for us to make the best decisions for our individual family. We leave her classes feeling more confident and would recommend them to anyone who wants to feel empowered during their journey to parenthood. The postpartum workshop, in particular, is not to be missed!

Hi everybody! My name is Hayden Brame and I am a doula here in the Twin Cities. I have been working with children and their families since I was a teenager (more than 10 years now!) and am so passionate about families and making sure that every family has the best start imaginable. I believe that giving birth should be empowering and focus on the choices that you are able to make and on giving you the information that you need to make those choices. I will advocate for your decisions, from everything from what music to be played to what pain management you would prefer, and I will also hold space in the moment for any changes that you need. Birth is sacred and should be treated as such- at the end of this experience, you'll have a new member of your family to start a life with and I want to make sure that you are set up for success every step of the way!

Hayden supported our family as a postpartum doula when we welcomed our third child. Hayden’s experience as a teacher in early learning and Montessori settings was especially important to us as sibling interaction and integration was a big piece we needed help with those first few weeks. Hayden spent time with my older kids when I needed to focus on the baby and helped me with new strategies to use during behavioral challenges and sleep challenges for my older kids as they adjusted to the big transition. Hayden also spent time caring for our baby so I could get quality time with my older kids and have some time for myself! Hayden’s friendly, calming and supportive presence was so appreciated by our entire family as we entered this new chapter.

"Most of us did not learn when we were young that our capacity to be self-loving would be shaped by the work we do and whether that work enhances our well-being." – bell hooks. This is a quote that has stuck with me as I explore my career path. Becoming a doula is something I did not follow through with until the murder of George Floyd. Seeing the striking images of pregnant Black mothers protesting around the country ignited the fire in me to finally complete my training to become a certified perinatal educator - meaning I can provide childbirth education, prenatal support, labor and delivery support, lactation support, and newborn care support. But my calling to birth work started on the day I was born with my mother being hospitalized for 2 months postpartum from an avoidable mistake during an emergency c-section. I value empathy, collaboration, and being open minded. As a doula, I am intentional about serving my clients in a way that supports self-empowerment, so they feel they have all the information they feel they need to make the best decision for them and their baby/babies. I do not shy away from vulnerability, and I believe this allows me to have relationships with my clients built on trust.

Tricia was a helpful, knowledgeable face from the very first call we had with her during my pregnancy. She provided us with great resources through the pregnancy and was amazing during the labor process. A handful of things about my labor didn’t go the way I had wanted or had planned but having her by my side meant everything to both my husband and I. We felt safe having her by our side advocating for us and making sure I remained safe through the process of everything. We highly recommend Tricia and are so thankful for her impact during the pregnancy and birth.

Your friendly neighborhood birth doula here to support YOUR birth! Daisy Doula MN attends hospitals, birth centers, and home births. A doula works alongside you in the prenatal, birthing time, and postpartum. I am a birth doula residing in South Minneapolis. I have a lot of interests and passions that led me to find birthwork. I find it perfectly intersects science and data, bodywork and movement, direct advocacy, and human connection. I love to laugh and cry with you, holding space for your emotions and experiences. I enjoy sharing my knowledge while being curious about everything I don’t know. After completing a B.S. at the University of Minnesota and a stint living in France, I started working as a consultant for our local utility companies, implementing an energy efficiency program for new home construction. By this time I was deep into a yoga practice and took a yoga teacher training at Yess Yoga in 2018. I learned so much and it exposed me to many holistic practices within the 8 limbs of yoga. Meanwhile, my all-female consulting team started expecting. They would come to the office with so much new information and questions after doctor/midwife appointments, not to mention what everyone was saying on the internet! I was so curious about it all! I discovered what a doula was and that people did it as a profession. Not long after I am happy to say I found a doula training and haven’t looked back.

Maria was an amazing source of support, wisdom, and 5 hours of hip squeezes! My husband and I felt so confident and prepared for childbirth (as much as you can as first time parents) due to Maria’s guidance throughout the pregnancy. From day 1, Maria was comfortable and fun to work with! We cannot recommend her enough.

Hi there! I’m Megan (she/her). I’m so glad you’re considering doula support for your or your partner’s upcoming birth. I believe all parents deserve judgement-free, evidence-based support during their labor, birth and postpartum. My journey to fully birth obsessed began during my first pregnancy. I needed to know all the things and hear all the stories. I quickly learned that many birthing people, especially those in marginalized communities, do not receive the care they deserve during their journey to and through parenthood. This is when I discovered doulas and the support they provide. So I hired my doula, had two supported and empowering in-hospital birth experiences and went on my way as a mom of two, working a typical 9-5 in corporate marketing— never quite shaking a new found desire to make a difference in the birth community. Fast forward a few years, endless heart-to-hearts with my family and friends about making a change and I finally enrolled in a doula training. I truly believe this is what I’m meant to do and I’m so glad to have found my way here. My goal as a birth and postpartum doula is to empower birthing people and their partners through judgment-free and evidence-based support. When I’m not doula-ing, I’m usually spending time with my husband, our two daughters and two elder pups. Before parenthood and a pandemic hit, you could find us skiing, hiking, trying new restaurants, taking on a house project we probably should have left to professionals or binging our favorite shows. Now, you’re more likely to find us at a local park, swimming pool or in our backyard. A meaningful conversation over a cup of coffee or glass of wine is the way to my heart. I am so honored to serve birth clients in Minneapolis, St. Paul and all the surrounding suburbs.

Amanda was wonderful to work with! In addition to supporting us during labor, we had an initial consultation with her, two meetings before the birth and one meeting postpartum. She is knowledgeable about labor and the postpartum experience. We are first time parents, and she was able to answer our questions as well as offer extra resources and helpful tips. She is very supportive of mothers’ birthing preferences. We opted for a natural labor experience at a birth center, and she was very familiar with that environment. It was also important to us to have a doula who shares our Christian faith and could believe with us for an uncomplicated, beautiful birth (which we had)! I didn’t get a worship playlist put together ahead of time, but Amanda had one ready to go. She offered to braid my hair during labor which ended up being wonderful for labor and the first 48 hours postpartum! She has a calm, nurturing presence. Some other things she did to support us during labor were apply cold washcloths, provide pressure through hip squeezes, and give verbal encouragement. She also picked up our lunch for us post-delivery and thoughtfully brought us home-made treats at our postpartum visit. We are so glad that we went with Amanda as our doula and highly recommend her! Thanks, Amanda!

What a gift to work with Better Beginnings! Hallie and her team were so prompt and helpful from start to finish, making sure we had what we need to choose the right offerings for our birth and were so gracious about all of our questions along the way. We loved working with our doula Cyrese - She went above and beyond to check in, encourage, and support us in all the weeks leading up to birth and through our delivery, sharing so much knowledge and cheering us along the whole way. We felt so loved and supported in our preparations for birth and welcoming our little one to our home - We would warmly recommend Better Beginnings to any mama and family welcoming a new baby!

Hi families! My name is Lillian, and I would love to be your birth doula and/or night nanny! I have been professionally trained by Dr. Robin Elise Weiss through DONA International and have been working with babies and in childcare for 5+ years. I am so excited to begin this incredible journey with you. I have always been passionate about working with families and babies in whatever capacity I could, and I aspire to be a midwife and eventually own/run a birth center focusing on holistic care. I strongly believe that birth is a beautiful, natural process that a woman’s body was made to do and that you, as the birthing person, are wholly capable of bringing your baby into the world. So, my goal is to support you in doing that however you may need! I have always been told that I have a very calming presence, even by strangers and those who don’t know I am in birth work, and I plan to bring that to every birth I attend, along with my active listening skills, assurance, and knowledge. Together, we will make sure your birth is as comfortable and empowering as possible, I can’t wait to work with you!

My services are designed to complement + enhance the care provided by the birthing person's medical team. I use evidence-based strategies to help my clients prepare both physically + mentally for birth, while also fostering a sense of connection + community.

Sarah was a great addition to the birth of my 1st daughter, Lilah. My husband and I were nervous going into the process, and didn't really know what to expect, and wanted to know everything we could. My husband and I did not hire Sarah until a month prior to our scheduled induction, as we had not fully committed to hiring a doula. Once we did, Sarah made sure to come to our house several times to go over all of the planning of our birthplan, going over several movements/positions, and overall informing us of the process and what to expect. She was very calming and reassuring even though we were nervous. Sarah did a great job of informing us about the processes involved in my induction, she was very knowledgeable about different movements and positions to encourage baby to move, and was super helpful in keeping my husband and I calm, as we tend to have higher anxiety generally. During the labor process, Sarah was extremely mindful of our wishes, and conveying them with the staff and making sure that I had autonomy over my experience and that decisions were not going to be made for me or pushed at me. She explained things to me that I didn't quite understand when doctors came in, and made sure my voice was heard. After the birth, she stayed with me until I was moved and settled, and even came to visit us when we came home from the hospital. She is also coming over again to meet to see how things are going, and help me plan my return to work. I would definitely recommend Sarah to everybody, even if you have gone through the birthing process before, as she is wonderful at making the experience more intimate and precious. Thank you Sarah for everything you did!

Skye Thompson Certified Birth Doula, CAB | Occupational Therapist, MA, OTR/L (Licensed in Minnesota) | Specializing in Pelvic Floor Therapy As a certified birth doula and perinatal occupational therapist, I love walking alongside families during one of the most powerful and personal transitions of their lives. With eight years of experience in mental health and specialized training in pelvic floor therapy, I’m especially passionate about how the mind and body work together in labor. There’s so much we can do to support both—regulating the nervous system, releasing tension, and helping the body move through birth with more ease and confidence. I’ve had two home births myself, and they’ve shaped the way I view birth—raw, sacred, and incredibly unique to each family. While I support births in any setting, I bring a calm, grounded perspective to those planning a home birth. Wherever you choose to welcome your baby, I work to create an environment that feels warm, familiar, and truly yours. I live in South Minneapolis with my husband and our three young boys who keep life full of noise, joy, and adventure. You can usually find us biking along the Mississippi River, chasing each other through playgrounds, or hunting down the best local food trucks (bonus points if there’s a good coffee shop nearby!). I’d be honored to be part of your story. ***Client testimonials can be viewed on my homepage at www.HomemadeBirth.com***

I am a South Minneapolis-based birth doula and massage therapist. I have been a bodyworker for eight years, and co-own Total Solace Massage in Uptown, Minneapolis. I have attended trainings by DONA (2018) and Community Aware Birthworker (2024). My approach to birth is open-minded. I believe my role is to help you have the right experience for you, to make sure you know what options you have, and then help you navigate whatever is in the cards. Regardless of your birthing wishes, I bring my grounded, dedicated presence to my clients before, during and after the birthing time. Much of my life orbits care-work, especially through building strong community connections and supporting human bodies as they navigate change. Outside of birth and bodywork, I train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, I’m slowly learning to bake bread, and I am trying to befriend the neighborhood crows.
