As a birth doula based in central NJ, my practice is influenced by my experience as a massage therapist for over 30 years. I have broad understanding of the physical challenges facing pregnant and postpartum individuals. I’m certified as Body Ready Method™ professional to address body alignment issues during pregnancy, which can result in a more optimal labor and birth. I also teach an in-person Body Ready Birth™ workshop for birthers and their partners to practice labor positions that can ease the baby’s journey through the pelvis. I prepare my clients with tools to calm their nervous system and release their fears using Hypnobirthing meditations and breathing techniques. As an integral part of the birth team, I provide educational resources, in-person prenatal/postpartum visits and compassionate care during active labor and birth.

I worked with Elyse when I was pregnant with my second child. I had a relatively uncomplicated labor/delivery with my first child but felt unprepared for the exhaustion brought on by labor. While my hope was to have an unmedicated labor and delivery, both my husband and I were so tired and overwhelmed that we opted for the epidural. For this second birth experience, I wanted a doula to help prepare my mind and body for labor and delivery so I could fulfill my desire of an unmedicated birth experience. From our first meeting, it was apparent Elyse is passionate about supporting women and their partners through pregnancy and childbirth. She made me and my husband feel comfortable and was always prepared with resources from evidence based sources to answer our questions. I felt confident in achieving my goals as the due date approached knowing we would have Elyse’s support for the birth. Ultimately, we had an unexpected home birth but Elyse met us at the hospital afterwards and offered her support in those first hours. She also visited me at home a few weeks after the birth and offered additional resources for breastfeeding and postpartum recovery. It was a pleasure working with her and it is clear she cares about her clients.

Before I went to Jade's childbirth class at Montclair BABY, I had never heard of a doula. Her class was holistic of all the options during labor and delivery, and my husband and I felt like Jade could be the perfect support person to ease my anxiety during pregnancy and labor. We were absolutely right. Jade offered continuous comfort and information for me throughout my pregnancy. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and gave advice for things I hadn't even considered. Being someone who has always been terrified of childbirth, Jade eased my anxiety leaps and bounds. We prepared for it beforehand, but once I went into labor, Jade supported us over the phone and at my home before we went to the hospital. My birth went from something that I used to fear, to something I now look back on with fond memories (I think that's a wild transformation) and I truly credit a lot of that to Jade. She was an advocate for me at the hospital, she rarely left my side except when I needed alone time with my husband, and she encouraged me. She worked cooperatively with the rest of the birth team. Dare I say birth was actually a little fun? I whole heartedly recommend Jade as a doula and would love to have her at my future births. There really aren't enough words to describe how grateful I am for her.

Hazel is AMAZING! This was my second birth. my last experience with doula was okay, so I was very hesitant to get a doula this time. But I'm so so glad that I did because it made a HUGE difference. First I really appreciate the prep visit at my house. we talked about my preference and a mindset prep which helped me through labor. She was always on top of texts, calls and emails for questions, and would check in front time to time in between. When my labor started, even with the previous experience, we were still a little nervous. So she came to our house right away and helped me through the labor. She also took care of the communication with my midwife, which took a big burden off me when I was in pain. I chose natural delivery with no meds, and her counter pressure techniques really helped me through the pain. She was there from the beginning till I was released (a few hours after birth) and got me into the car. We had a postpartum visit and she massaged my belly and used moxie sticks on me. It felt really good. I felt really cared for the whole time. Had my sister lived closer, I'd have booked Hazel for her birth!

Working with Ivy Haven Birthwork was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. From the very beginning, I felt so seen, heard, and genuinely supported. This wasn’t just about information or checklists — it was about having someone walk beside me with calm, grounded presence every step of the way. Throughout my pregnancy, I always felt like I had a safe space to ask questions, process emotions, and explore my birth preferences without any judgment. Every visit left me feeling more prepared, more empowered, and more connected to my body and my baby. During labor and birth, Ivy Haven showed up with such quiet strength and intuition — anticipating what I needed before I even had to ask. Whether it was hands-on comfort, encouraging words, or just holding space, the support was everything I hoped for and more. I truly don’t know how I would have navigated it all without that presence. And postpartum… wow. Having someone check in on me — not just the baby — made all the difference. Ivy held space for my recovery, my questions, my tears, and my joy. From helping with practical tips to simply sitting and listening, I felt truly cared for in those tender first weeks. Now, with my baby girl nearly four months old, I still carry the strength and grounding I gained from my experience with Ivy. I’m endlessly grateful.

Could not have went through labor/delivery and early postpartum days without gab. As a FTM going through a journey i didn’t know anything about having gab by my side made me calmer, more informed and eased my anxiety. She walked me through birth plans, dealing with the contractions, helped me latch babygirl from the moment she was out. Between the post partum massage/belly binding, just teaching me how to wrap my baby, how to properly feed her, and coming over just to talk through my post partum feelings, I truly could not have done this without her!!

Hi New Parents & Returning Parents, My name is Anjanette Rebecca. I’m birth obsessed & I finally have the courage to admit it. I’m a little of a lot of things. I’m a full spectrum doula who supports families and individuals across all walks of life. From zygote to 130 years old. Reproductive health is who I am. Bodily autonomy is what I’ve supported since I was a child. I stepped into my mother’s shoes at an early age. My mother was the original reproductive health guru. My mom passed away before I had time to say goodbye. Grief became the catalyst that changed my life for the best. I meet Individuals and families that are kind enough to trust me with something so sacred. That will always be one of the biggest blessing in my life. I’ve cared for thousands of clients locally & internationally. My ultimate goal is YOU. Your family, your very valid fears, your tears & your happiness. I guide expectant families and individuals in embodying their role as the first teacher in their children’s life. Our body is our children’s first home, it will and always should be respected. Dads, that includes you. Your little one finds comfort in your presence before they’re even born. Your voice and kisses will be one of your child’s favorite things. My business & my baby, Birth & Beyond, NYC is an extension of my family; fellow educators like myself, with a combined 206 years of supporting vulnerable populations in New York City. In October 2026, I will celebrate 26 years in the healthcare industry, 18 years as a registered nurse. It’s an honor to be a part of birth, an intimate time for families to come together. I navigated my first pregnancy alone-there’s so much power in being a single parent too. I’m here to hold individuals & families through one of the most breathtaking and potentially chaotic moments of their lives. Parenthood is a massive upgrade and a heroic space to hold. Please don’t let the internet scare you. It scares me! But we have access to so much information. It is normal to feel overwhelmed by it. I pray that you enter pregnancy & your birth space with confidence. Tap me in if you need someone to kick the door off its hinges, metaphorically speaking of course :) As for me, I’m a Brooklyn native, currently enjoying life in Staten Island, NY. I spend most my time having juicy conversations, tending to 179 indoor plants, barefoot & not pregnant :) I spend time off social media, reading books and finding myself in nature. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Cheryl and the support she provided throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. From the beginning, Cheryl and I connected so well, and I immediately felt comfortable with her. As a first-time mom, that was so important to me. I was in a new city, delivering at a new hospital, and trusting a care team I had never worked with before, so having someone in my corner who I genuinely trusted made such a difference. One of the things I appreciated most was how much Cheryl prepared both my husband and I before I went into labor. She helped us create our birth plan, taught us different exercises, positions, and circuits I could use to prepare for labor and during labor, and most importantly, taught us how to advocate for ourselves and communicate what I wanted during my birth experience. That preparation gave us so much more confidence going into the hospital. Her support continued immediately after I gave birth. Cheryl helped me navigate those first moments of postpartum, including helping my baby latch for breastfeeding, which meant so much to me as a first-time mom. She made sure I felt supported, comfortable, and cared for during such a new and vulnerable moment. What makes Cheryl even more amazing is that her care didn’t stop after I gave birth. Five months postpartum, she STILL checks in, not only to see how I’m doing and adjusting to motherhood, but also to ask about my baby and my husband. She remembers our names, asks about each of us, and genuinely cares about how we’re doing as a family. She has also made it a priority to hear and understand my experience as a first-time Black mother, which has been incredibly meaningful to me. Her support has never felt like simply providing a service and moving on once the baby was born. The connection we built is genuine, and it’s clear that Cheryl truly cares about the mother, the baby, and the family as a whole. I’m so grateful that Cheryl was part of such an important chapter in our lives. She made me feel heard, prepared, cared for, and supported during one of the biggest transitions of my life. If you’re looking for a doula who is knowledgeable and compassionate but also someone who will genuinely get to know you and care about your family beyond your delivery day, I HIGHLY recommend Cheryl. ❤️

After dealing with the 4-month sleep regression for over a month and a half, my husband and I decided to reach out to Joy. At the time, our son was barely sleeping overnight. He was waking every 30 minutes to an hour and refused to sleep in his crib or bassinet. After speaking with Joy, she created a detailed, personalized sleep plan specifically for our son. To our amazement, after just one night, he was sleeping through the night with only one wake up to feed. I was so nervous about sleep training because I thought it would be stressful and heartbreaking, but it was the complete opposite. The process was much easier than we expected, and the results were truly life-changing for our whole family. Joy was incredibly supportive every step of the way, always available to answer our questions and provide reassurance. I can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re struggling with your little one’s sleep, she is absolutely worth it!
