Hi! I am a trauma-informed, healing-centered, and evidence-based fertility, birth, and postpartum doula with over seventeen years of experience providing client-centered, queer and trans affirming care, advocacy, and education in various public health settings. As a Full-Spectrum Birth Worker since 2014, I provide informational, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and physical support during the entire perinatal period. I draw on both evidence-based research and traditional wisdom to support my clients. In addition to labor support, my expertise includes teaching people the Fertility Awareness Method to create and prevent pregnancies, providing education and support for donor insemination (ICI and IUI), helping clients select care providers that align with their values, supporting people struggling with infertility and perinatal loss, providing postpartum care and lactation support, and providing education on newborn and infant care. As a Certified Reiki Practitioner, Intuitive Energy Healer, Yoga Nidra facilitator, and Sexual and Reproductive Health Educator, I bring a holistic lens to my work. I am deeply committed to reproductive justice and birth justice, and I believe in providing clients with all the information they need to make informed choices that are right for them. Doula clients appreciate my extensive knowledge and experience, and my ability to provide comprehensive, holistic, ongoing support, education, and guidance not just during their labor and birth, but throughout the perinatal period. My approach to doula care is to meet people where they are at, centering their needs and goals, and customizing my approach to best meet my clients’ unique needs for their bodies, babies, and family.

Hi, I’m Imani! 🤎 I’m a Full-Spectrum Doula serving families throughout Chicago, Illinois. I provide compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based support throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, loss, and life’s many transitions. I offer birth, VBAC, cesarean, postpartum, and emotional support tailored to each family’s individual needs. Before becoming a doula, I spent over 12 years in Early Childhood Education, 8 years as a nanny, and also worked as a Registered Behavior Technician. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in child development, newborn care, and supporting families through different stages of life. I completed my Full-Spectrum Doula training through Embrace Partum Health in 2026. My passion for doula work is deeply personal. After experiencing pregnancy loss, an unexpected cesarean, and a successful VBAC, I understand how meaningful it is to have someone who listens, provides reassurance, and truly sees you. My goal is to help families feel informed, respected, confident, and never alone. When I’m not supporting families, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, baking, cooking, writing poetry, and building community. A message to new parents: You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. It would be an honor to walk alongside you, listen to you, support your choices, and help you feel cared for through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. 🤎

Hello! I'm Heather Joy, oldest of nine kids, and mother of four. Caregiving on every level is my life's calling-- mentally, emotionally, logistically, and physically! I am dedicated to healthy boundaries that empower the caregivers I work with so we can do sustainable work that truly nurtures the nurturers. I love brainstorming with new families when challenges arise-- I excel at developing systems, routines, and rituals that work best for each unique family. I also stay up to date on evidence-based care, melding my knowledge with the power of intuition to meet new families personalized needs. When I'm not working, learning, or caregiving, I spend time walking in Chicago's prolific nature, cooking with my kids, and socializing in my neighborhood. I met Heather when my baby girl was just three days old. As a first-time mom with no family around, I needed support during my postpartum period, and Heather's exceptional care was truly invaluable from day one. She taught me everything from changing diapers to bathing my baby. Heather approached parenting as a trial and error process, guiding me through different methods, such as finding the best way to swaddle my baby, understanding that every baby is unique. Her calming presence was instrumental in helping me cope with the significant identity shift and potential postpartum depression that new moms often face. I wholeheartedly recommend Heather for her expertise, compassion, and unwavering support

We interviewed a few doulas before choosing Damiana, and she immediately stood out as someone who really understood us and made us feel comfortable. She was warm, thoughtful, and even offered a reference, which was really helpful in making our decision. We started working with her about 2.5months before the birth, and she was incredibly supportive throughout. She met with us weekly, helped us put together a solid birth plan, and really took the time to make sure we felt emotionally ready (not just prepared for labor, but ready for the whole experience). Also, she met us at the hospital shortly after we arrived at the hospital when I went into labor and was incredibly supportive. It was our 1st birth, and having her there to guide both me and my husband through everything made a huge difference. She was so reassuring and helpful. I honestly can’t imagine doing it without her. So grateful to have had Damiana as part of our birth team. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and truly supportive birth doula.

I'm writing this 14 months removed from having Jenny as my doula. I think about the trauma of my birth experience often which means thinking about Jenny often. Her strong advocacy of my needs, her unwavering support, and her creative techniques got me through the most scary yet most beautiful experience of my life. She is an incredible mother herself and supports other mothers with sage wisdom and tenderness. She will tell a nurse to back off if they overstep when she sees you are too vulnerable. She will talk you through making difficult choices with a measured firm love that only very special people can execute. I look at my son and know that we are both still here because of 3 things; 1. Several fiercely dedicated nurses 2. Whatever divinity exists that was looking out for my son and I 3. Jenny. The love for my son goes hand in hand with my love and appreciation for Jenny.

Yvette was an absolute lifesaver for our family during a challenging time. She provided overnight support for several weeks while I recovered from major surgery, caring for both our newborn and toddler with exceptional professionalism and warmth. Yvette’s knowledge, experience, and nurturing presence gave us peace of mind, allowing us to rest and focus on healing. In addition to her outstanding care for our children, Yvette went above and beyond by helping with light housework and chores, ensuring that our home stayed organized and comfortable. Her attention to detail and willingness to step in wherever needed made a tremendous difference during such a stressful period. We are incredibly grateful for her support and would highly recommend her to any family in need of compassionate, reliable, and thorough care.
