This is my first baby, and I am looking for a compassionate, supportive birth doula who can provide emotional and physical support during labor and help me advocate for myself if needed. I am also looking for postpartum support as I adjust to caring for a newborn. I will have family nearby, but I expect to need additional guidance and reassurance, especially during the first few weeks after birth. I would appreciate someone who has experience with first-time mothers, newborn care, breastfeeding or formula feeding support, newborn soothing techniques, and maternal recovery. I am hoping to have a low-intervention birth, and ideally a waterbirth. I do not want to be induced or have an epidural, but would consider other methods for pain relief. I am looking for someone with experience consulting new parents on breastfeeding, especially for people who have had a major reduction. I had peri-areolar type of reduction (incisions around areola, nipples+areola left intact) and may be able to breastfeed. You should be comfortable working with LGBT+ people.
