Hi, I'm Elizabeth! Being a mother myself to my two sweet boys, I have experienced the joys, pains, and fears that can come with pregnancy and birth. I can say without a doubt, though, because of my training and the doula support I had through both, it made them both joyful and peaceful experiences for me, even though they both looked completely different; one was a home birth and the other a hospital birth! I hope to provide my clients with the tools and support they need to be able to have that same experience. I chose doula work because I am passionate about helping women in such a transformative time in their lives. Kyliah is a trained Doula and Social Worker in the Twin Cities. She is currently an Elementary School Social Worker in North St. Paul. Although originally from the Chicagoland area, Kyliah has lived in different parts of the Midwest including St. Louis, MO and Duluth, MN. She is trained clinically as a Social Worker and brings all of her skills of advocacy, empathy, relationship-building, client focused care, and empowerment to her role as a Doula. Having worked in so many communities here in the Twin Cities and with survivors of violence while in St. Louis, Kyliah recognizes the importance of upholding one’s individual story and experience no matter where their journey has taken them. She came to birthwork recognizing the significant disparities in care for Black and Brown birthing families and wanting to provide care that is accessible and acknowledges history and culture. As a Doula, Kyliah is trained in Perinatal Mental Health, Hypnobirthing, Grief and Reproductive Loss, and currently finishing a training on supporting body mechanics in pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Kyliah prioritizes ensuring that the families she supports feel safe not only physically, but emotionally as well as during their birthing times and beyond. I’m a mother of 6 who has a passion for helping mothers get the birth they desire as well as the support that is so important for our mental health after birth. I am a certified doula who has experience in birth and postpartum, single and twin pregnancies, as well as a certified childbirth educator. I have experience with all births ranging from home birth to gentle c-sections. Additionally, I have over 7.5 years of breastfeeding experience.

I grew up in Placerville, California and moved in 2022 to Lexington, South Carolina where I now live with my parents, one sister and three adorable cats. I grew up helping take care of my aging grandparents. We were always serving them in some capacity whether it was entertaining my grandpa with dementia by working on a puzzle with him, cleaning up the kitchen, or chopping up fallen tree branches on the property. When I am not working I love to volunteer to serve at church, sing in the choir, paint, and cuddle with my kitties. I also enjoy spending time with my family and with my best friend John who, like me, has high functioning autism. We enjoy getting to know each other’s quirks and understanding things about each other that most people wouldn’t get. Words are not his strength, but I enjoy learning to use my emotional intelligence skills to read through the lines when he can’t put what he means into words. Being that person that can understand him in a way most people can’t means the world to me. These are some of the things that have kindled my passion to work as a doula. Seeing people’s physical and relational and emotional needs and doing the absolute best I can to fulfill them brings me joy and satisfaction that I am doing what I do best and using my unique skills to be a blessing to other people and to glorify God who gave me these skills!
