Hi, I'm Dez Weyburn. I have thirteen years of doula experience and have been able to support so many kinds of births. I love working with families who want to take charge of their own birth experience, however that looks to them. In the past year, I've sort of accidentally found a niche at supporting high risk births, so I'm well versed in how most of the local hospitals deal with labor complications. Beyond that, I'm well informed about supporting physiological births. As a doula and massage therapist, I often incorporate touch in prenatal meetings, the labor and birth, and our postpartum check-in.

My name is Jillian Cain and I am so excited to begin my journey as a postpartum doula. Hello! My name is Lavinia, and I’m a mother who has personally experienced the profound journey of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. After facing challenges such as preeclampsia and caring for a premature baby, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and mental needs that arise during this transformative time. These experiences have shaped my passion for supporting other parents as they navigate their unique journeys into parenthood. As a Doula, my philosophy revolves around providing compassionate, individualized care, ensuring that each family feels empowered, informed, and nurtured throughout the process. I believe in the power of holistic support—whether it’s offering emotional encouragement, practical assistance, or simply being a steady presence. My goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where both parents and babies feel safe and cared for, allowing families to thrive during the birthing experience and beyond.

My journey to becoming a postpartum doula began in 2022, when I became a mother myself. During my pregnancy, I dove deep into everything I could learn about birth and parenting, and I quickly fell in love with the beauty and power of the whole process. But when my daughter was born, I realized there was a gap in the education and support available for new mothers, especially when it comes to the postpartum experience. I found that many mothers, myself included, were left to navigate this crucial time without the guidance and support they truly needed. It was in this moment of realization that I knew I wanted to support other women in their postpartum journeys, helping them feel informed, nurtured, and cared for as they adjusted to life with a new baby. In late 2024, I found a postpartum doula training led by an incredible midwife, and I knew this was the path I was meant to take. As a follower of Jesus, my faith is central to everything I do, and I strive to serve others with love and compassion. When I’m not supporting families, you can find me baking, spending time with my own family, and dreaming of a homesteading life. I’m excited to be part of your postpartum journey and offer the care and support you need during this transformative and sacred time.

After the birth of my second child, I found myself struggling with postpartum depression. Even though I had a good support system, there were many factors at play that left me feeling depressed, anxious, and like I wasn't a good mom.  Thankfully, I was able to receive appropriate care and I was soon feeling better! I felt so incredibly loved and held as I did the work to recover. Because of the wonderful support I experienced from the birth and postpartum world, I decided to transition from my former career of 16 years as a veterinary technician. I am currently in the process of becoming certified as a postpartum doula through CAPPA and I am so excited to continue supporting the new families in my community!

I have been teaching somatics for over 12 years throughout my local Salt Lake City community. I acquired my BFA in Modern Dance and Education from the University of Utah in 2009 and shortly after gained my yoga teacher training in Hatha and Prenatal Yoga. I am a certified DONA Birth and Postpartum Doula, an ICEA accredited childbirth educator, parenting group coordinator, mental health advocate and community organizer. All of the diverse education and training, as well as years of experience, provided me the space to confidently educate the community of expectant parents during their reproductive years, while simultaneously providing unbiased evidence based care. I believe that guiding people to fine tune their own personal intuition and strength allows them to live a happier, well balanced and meaningful life.
