Having Michelle as part of our birth process was one of the absolute best decisions we made. We really wanted someone who had a deep knowledge and could help prepare us yet also be emotionally / psychologically supportive - and she was incredible. Her calm yet empowering energy, her levelheaded acumen, her kind consideration and openness - she made all the difference not only in the delivery room but before and after as well! Michelle prepared us thoroughly regarding what to expect, provided us lots of 'tools' (i.e. resources, information, exercises, etc) to have in our toolbox, and when things were happening during labor she was a grounding presence able to help ask the right questions, make sure I was approaching things the way I wanted to, and we felt incredibly supported the whole time. She made the room a little oasis which I truly believe contributed to me relaxing and ultimately having a smooth delivery. She is the best - anyone would be lucky to have her on their team. <3

Our experience with Liz was truly wonderful! With Liz, you will feel safe, heard, & held through one of the most important moments of your life. When we initially spoke, it was probably 2 minutes into the conversation when we knew she was the right doula. The call ended, my husband & I looked at each other & immediately said, "I LOVED her." Liz laid out everything that we should expect, & did it in a way where we didn't feel judged. Others had tried to convince us that we had unresolved trauma, or had made mistakes in previous births. Liz's trust in us knowing what we needed was so reassuring. During the pregnancy, Liz is there if you need her, checking in to see how appts. went, & getting a feel for your mindset approaching birth. Liz was vital in my ability to remain calm as my due date came, then passed by 9 days! We discussd ways to help encourage labor, different scenarios as 42 weeks approached, & reassurances that my baby & body knew what they were doing. Being a 3rd time mom I really thought I knew it all, but when things went so much longer than we all expected, I was so grateful to have Liz's calm & confident presence. At OBC, Liz arrived exactly when I needed her. She easily fit into the flow of labor offering assistance to me, & guiding my husband to help through contractions. Liz understands when to step to the forefront, & also when to hang back. Her experience & presence in the birthing space made me feel more supported & calm than I had previously. My labor was fast, but I never felt like I lost control. Liz took stunning photos during birth, capturing all of the phases of labor, recovery, & beautiful shots of the baby. The photos will be cherished by our family for the rest of our lives! Liz doesn't disappear after you're done having the baby. She checks in during your recovery at home, & even comes to visit. We loved working with Liz!

Katia has been my postpartum doula and caregiver for my baby boy since February 2025. She consistently takes initiative in ways that truly lighten my load as a new mom. One moment that stands out was when she noticed I was juggling baby care and chores—without me even asking, she washed the baby's clothes and bedsheets, took out the trash, and even helped cut vegetables for dinner. She always notices what needs to be done and jumps in with such care and thoughtfulness—it’s clear she’s not just doing a job, but genuinely wants to support and nurture. This was my first baby, and I had never used a doula service before, so I was initially skeptical and a bit anxious about having someone new in our home during such a vulnerable and emotional time. But from the very beginning, Katia made me feel at ease. Although she has extensive experience with babies, she remains open and flexible—listening carefully to my needs and respecting our preferences. She remembered all the little things I mentioned and adapted her care accordingly. Even now, with my baby being 8 months old, I still turn to Katia when I need someone trustworthy to watch him for a few hours. That’s how much confidence and comfort she’s brought to our family. Both my husband and I are deeply grateful for her help—having Katia as our doula has been such a positive and reassuring experience. She made a lasting impact on our early journey as parents, and any family would be incredibly lucky to have her by their side.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Working with Dee the Labor Doula was truly a blessing! From the very first conversation, Dee made me feel comfortable, supported, and understood. She was there every step of the way checking in during my pregnancy, answering my late night questions, and making sure I felt prepared for birth. During labor, Dee was calm, reassuring, and such a strong advocate for me. She helped with breathing, comfort measures, and reminded me of my strength when I started to doubt myself. My partner also felt included and supported, which made the experience even more special for us as a family. Postpartum, Dee continued to check in and provide resources that made the transition into motherhood so much smoother. I can’t thank her enough for her compassion, knowledge, and care. If you’re in South Jersey or the Philadelphia area and looking for a doula, I HIGHLY recommend Dee the Labor Doula LLC! — Happy Mama & Family

Hi, I’m Rachel! I’m a birth doula based in Perkiomenville, PA, and I love supporting families in both Montgomery and Bucks counties. My passion for this work comes from wanting to help parents feel cared for and confident as they step into the big transition of welcoming a new baby. As your doula, I’ll be there to support both you and your partner—helping you feel calm, prepared, and confident through birth and into postpartum. Think of me as a steady, reassuring presence by your side throughout the whole journey. When I’m not at a birth, you’ll usually find me outside with my husband and daughter, soaking up the fresh air. Rachel is exceptional. Working with her as our Doula for my first pregnancy was the best decision my husband and I made. She provided valuable prenatal education and resources along with being readily available to answer questions and discuss anything I was concerned about. During labor, Rachel served as a kind, steady and calming cheerleader and coach not just for me, but for my husband as well. He felt just as supported and cared for as I did. I had a long and difficult labor that ended with a C-section and I do not exaggerate when I say that I wouldn’t have survived without Rachel. She did everything from walking my husband through different comfort measures to help me, to holding me through the epidural procedure, and feeding me honey sticks to help keep my energy up. She was a calming and encouraging presence through our biggest life change of becoming parents. I deeply appreciated that postpartum visits are part of what Rachel offers. Those meetings were so helpful in processing through the birth experience and all that comes with postpartum healing and caring for a newborn. Rachel is a life saver and just a genuinely wonderful person. I highly recommend working with her!

Clarissa Alves

Clarissa Alves

I’m Clarissa Alves, a certified doula and the person behind Mooncradle Matrescence. My work is rooted in bodily autonomy, informed consent, reproductive justice, and the belief that every family deserves to be heard, respected, and supported without judgment. As an Afro-Indigenous mother born and raised in the Bronx, I know that navigating maternal healthcare as a person of color can come with its own challenges. Too often, people are dismissed, their instincts are questioned, and normal experiences are treated like problems that need to be fixed. That’s a big part of why I do this work. I want families to know their rights, understand their options, and feel empowered to make decisions about their own bodies and their own births. For me, birth work also means challenging the systems and beliefs that have shaped the way we approach pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. I believe in decolonizing birth, honoring ancestral wisdom, and making room for evidence based care without losing sight of the person at the center of it all. Our ancestors have always had knowledge worth honoring, and families deserve care that respects both that wisdom and their individual needs. I don’t believe there is one right way to give birth. An unmedicated birth, a cesarean, a VBAC, or a birth that looks nothing like someone planned all deserve the same respect. My job isn’t to push my beliefs onto anyone or decide what their birth should look like. It’s to provide honest education, help families understand their choices, advocate for their autonomy, and stand beside them through whatever their journey looks like, including the parts that come after birth. At Mooncradle Matrescence, I want families to feel safe enough to ask questions, speak up, change their minds, and trust themselves. You deserve to be treated like a person, not a problem to manage. You deserve to have your voice heard, your boundaries respected, and your choices honored. That’s the kind of care I believe in, and that’s the kind of care I’m here to provide.

Having Clarissa as my doula was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Straight from the beginning, she was there for me throughout my entire pregnancy. Whatever questions I had, she helped me answer. She also helped me create a personalized birth plan step by step. When my water broke, I called her immediately and she was on her way. She showed up with things to decorate my hospital room, as well as pain management items, and a peanut & labor ball. Ambient lighting, oil diffuser, and words of affirmation on cards. These things really helped set the tone for my whole labor. As I progressed, I got good use out of all the pain relief items Clarissa brought. My personal favorite was the TENS machine and comb. Clarissa also made sure to advocate for my wants, needs, and rights as a patient. This truly meant a lot to me, as I feared a hospital birth due to hearing about mistreatment of new mothers who aren’t fully aware of their rights. As I started experiencing more intense pain, Clarissa jumped into action to help with pressure points and positioning my body in a way to ease pain. She helped me with breathing techniques and ways to move my hip on the birthing ball she brought along. All of these things made such a tremendous impact on how beautiful my whole experience was. Clarissa was right there squeezing my hand tight, holding my leg, and cheering me along so I knew I was able to do this. That was the strength I needed. Finally, my daughter was born! Clarissa made sure I got immediate skin-to-skin and a good deep latch to kick off my breastfeeding journey. We both laughed and cried when my daughter came out, it was truly one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had! Throughout my postpartum weeks, Clarissa made sure to check in with me daily as she did when I was pregnant to assure I was doing okay, and to answer any general questions I had about breastfeeding, postpartum care, and being a new mom in general! All her advice was so helpful. Choosing Clarissa as my doula was one of the best decisions I could have made. If you want an individualized experience with someone who is passionate about helping moms, Clarissa is the perfect person for that!

After dealing with the 4-month sleep regression for over a month and a half, my husband and I decided to reach out to Joy. At the time, our son was barely sleeping overnight. He was waking every 30 minutes to an hour and refused to sleep in his crib or bassinet. After speaking with Joy, she created a detailed, personalized sleep plan specifically for our son. To our amazement, after just one night, he was sleeping through the night with only one wake up to feed. I was so nervous about sleep training because I thought it would be stressful and heartbreaking, but it was the complete opposite. The process was much easier than we expected, and the results were truly life-changing for our whole family. Joy was incredibly supportive every step of the way, always available to answer our questions and provide reassurance. I can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re struggling with your little one’s sleep, she is absolutely worth it!
