Hi, I'm Lela Mirtl, founder and owner of Birth & Bloom. Postpartum Doula | Newborn Care Specialist | Pediatric Sleep Trainer Through Birth & Bloom, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care for growing families during the postpartum period. My work centers on nurturing both parents and newborns while creating a calm, supportive environment that allows families to rest, recover, and build confidence in their new roles. Whether I am providing overnight newborn care, emotional support, education, feeding guidance, or practical household assistance, my goal is always the same: to ensure families feel seen, supported, and never alone. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every family deserves a village. Modern parenting often comes with unrealistic expectations and limited support systems. New parents are frequently expected to navigate sleep deprivation, physical recovery, feeding challenges, and major life adjustments with little guidance. I believe postpartum care should not be viewed as a luxury, but as an essential part of family wellness. When parents are cared for, they are better equipped to care for their children. I approach each family without judgment and with deep respect for their unique values, goals, and parenting choices. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to newborn care. Every baby is different, every parent is different, and every family's journey is unique. My role is not to replace a parent's instincts, but to strengthen their confidence and provide the knowledge, reassurance, and support they need to trust themselves. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping families find balance during a time that can feel overwhelming. I strive to create an atmosphere of calm amid the uncertainty that often accompanies the newborn stage. Through education, encouragement, and hands-on support, I help parents develop sustainable routines, understand their baby's needs, and gain confidence in their abilities. I am passionate about continuous learning and staying informed about current best practices in newborn care, safe sleep, postpartum recovery, infant development, and family wellness. I believe families deserve care that is both compassionate and informed by the latest evidence-based research. At the heart of everything I do is the understanding that postpartum support extends beyond caring for a newborn. It involves caring for the entire family unit. My goal is to help parents feel rested, capable, and supported while fostering a healthy foundation for their growing family. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside families during this special chapter and to provide the guidance, reassurance, and care they need to thrive. Birth & Bloom was founded on the belief that every family deserves compassionate support, trusted guidance, and a gentle beginning. Through personalized care, meaningful connections, and a commitment to excellence, I strive to help families bloom with confidence as they navigate the journey into parenthood.

Hi friend, I’m Prisca, the doula behind your birth friend I’m a certified doula, wife, and mama with a big heart for walking alongside women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My care is rooted in connection, the kind that feels genuine, grounding, and personal. I believe doula support should feel less like a service and more like a steady friendship. Someone in your corner who gets it, sees you, and walks with you through it all. I believe every woman deserves: gentle, personalized support evidence-based guidance and someone who truly sees her I also believe that knowledge is power. When women understand their options, their bodies, and the birth process, they’re able to step into this journey feeling confident, informed, and deeply supported. I’m passionate about helping women feel equipped and empowered every step of the way. Birth isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, spiritual, and sacred. That’s why my support goes beyond timelines and checklists. I show up with heart, with presence, and with care that’s built on trust, friendship, and faith. My faith is the foundation of how I serve. It’s what grounds me, guides me, and helps me hold space with love and grace in every space I enter. Whether we’re chatting over tea during pregnancy, breathing through contractions together, or unpacking the beautiful, messy layers of postpartum, I’ll be right there with you as your steady, grounded support. I serve families in North Texas and it would be an honor to walk with you through your journey. Got questions? Want to connect? Or want to say hi? I’d love to hear from you! I’ve poured a lot of heart into my website, and I would be delighted if you stopped by. I’d love to connect with you there.

We can’t recommend her enough!

Her support, knowledge, encouragement, and calming presence made a tremendous difference during one of the most important seasons of my life. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Sydney as my doula during my VBAC journey! We were initially planning for a repeat C-section, but after hearing a friend’s inspiring story about her home VBAC, I felt motivated to explore other options. A mutual friend connected me with Sydney, and right from our first meeting, the good vibes were undeniable—especially since we shared the same name! It felt like a sign that we were a perfect match. What I really appreciated about Sydney is how real and honest she is. She doesn’t sugarcoat things just to keep you comfortable—she tells you the truth and gives you all the facts, which is so important when planning your birth. Her straightforward approach helped me feel empowered to make informed decisions and commit to my plan for an unmedicated birth. After my previous experience with interventions that led to an unnecessary C-section, I was determined to do things differently this time. Sydney was super responsive to all my questions throughout my pregnancy, which really calmed my nerves. When the big day finally came, Sydney was a total rockstar! Her presence was empowering, and I felt like I could really go for it. After the birth, she came for a home visit, which was such a sweet touch. She brought us thoughtful goodies and shared valuable tips on postpartum care, even though this wasn’t my first rodeo with a newborn.

I’m Emilee, affectionately known as Nanny Emmy. I’m a career nanny with over thirty years of experience caring for children of all ages. For nearly the past decade, I’ve focused exclusively on newborn and postpartum care, supporting more than fifty families through one of the most important transitions of their lives. Working with families is not about showing up with a checklist. It is about walking into a home and immediately understanding what is needed. From the baby who is struggling to settle, to the parent running on empty, to the small details no one else has time to think about, I bring experience, confidence, and a listening ear. I provide a combination of newborn care and postpartum support, whether during the day, overnight, or both. My care is practical, intuitive, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Whether I'm caring for your baby through the night, helping establish healthy sleep habits, or managing a few household tasks while you rest, my presence is intentional and my care is always tailored to your family’s needs. What sets me apart is not just experience. It is the ability to assess a situation, respond with purpose, and care for the family as a whole. I understand what recovery actually looks like. Hello! I'm Melinda, wife to Seth, and mother to Abigail, Luke, Keturah, Naomi, Isaac, Elijah, and Mattias. While my family lived in South Africa(2018-2019), I was blessed to become a certified doula through their WOMBS (women offering mothers birth support) program. Along with in-person classes, I experienced hands-on doula opportunities with laboring women in 2 different hospital locations in Johannesburg. I believe this experience opened my heart to truly seeing the importance of having a strong support system during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Children are a blessing from the Lord and every mother deserves the best through her pregnancy/delivery. I personally have experienced 3 hospital births, 2 birth center deliveries, and 2 home births. I am here to support you and help you make the most memorable and peaceful birth possible. If you are pregnant and would like the support of a doula, please reach out to me. I would love to meet you and see if I am the right doula for you.

We are so incredibly grateful that we hired Melinda as our doula. From the very beginning, she was always available to answer our questions and provide reassurance, and she brought such a calm and comforting presence to our birth experience. Our little one decided to arrive early, and Melinda was incredibly flexible and showed up when we needed her. Throughout labor, she offered so many helpful recommendations for position changes, pain management techniques, and ways to work through each stage. She also helped my husband feel much more confident in how to support me through some of the most difficult parts of labor, which meant so much to both of us. Our birth experience ended up being drastically different from what we had planned, but Melinda was wonderful at helping us pivot, supporting us through the unexpected, and encouraging us as we made decisions along the way. I especially appreciated that she prayed over us right before delivery. It was such a meaningful and comforting moment that I will always remember. I would absolutely recommend Melinda to any expecting family—and I already have! She was an incredible source of support, encouragement, and calm during one of the most important and challenging experiences of our lives. We are so thankful she was there to help us welcome our little one into the world.

Jordan Towns

My name is Jordan Towns and I have served the role as an Emotional Support Coach/Companion for over two decades to women and men encountering a full range of life encounters. It was in Spring 2023 that my journey to become a Doula was initiated and what a journey indeed it has been. Marked by my strong ancestral roots and divine gifting coupled with an experience that allowed me to grow deeper in tune with my body as a woman and what it means to be empowered and supported in my connection to it, I moved to become a Birth Doula and completed my formal training with Doulas of North America International in the “Art of Labor Support.” Now I have the honor of providing continuous, culturally appropriate support, non-medical advice, and physical comfort coaching to women and their partners during pregnancy, the birth ceremony, and the adjustment period after. It is this support that is critical to counter systemic medical racism and socioeconomic barriers that families face. I am currently offering to women who would like to birth at home donation-based services.

Jordan was an absolute amazing support person. She listened to what my wants and needs were. Jordan was open and understanding of my wants and through conversations she recalled details I mentioned. She reassured me as I was going through the labor process and even made me feel extremely comfortable and confident. I honestly can’t say enough about her to describe how amazing she was and how smooth she made the process. Very professional and at the same time humble. I highly recommend her! 100/10

I’m Savannah, a certified birth doula, lactation support, and advocate for empowering birth experiences. My journey into birth work began with my own pregnancies. One that left me feeling unheard, and another that healed me and changed my perspective. After experiencing how crucial support, education, and advocacy are, I knew I wanted to help other women feel confident, informed, and supported during their births. Your Birth, Your Voice
! I believe birth should be a respected and personal experience. Too often, mothers are told what to do instead of being given the information to make their own decisions. That’s why I’m committed to: * Educating mothers about their choices * Offering unbiased, evidence-based support * Helping families navigate birth and postpartum with confidence You deserve to be heard, and your birth should reflect your voice. Whether you’re planning a hospital, birth center, or home birth, I’m here to support and encourage you every step of the way.

Because of Savannah, I had the birth I wanted to have. She listened and remembered everything I said, going into detail in our conversations with me, making sure I knew that I could make my birth beautiful. Being so supported leading up to my birth was essential. This translated into my natural delivery by giving me the confidence to listen to my body. She is so incredibly gifted, I cannot imagine giving birth without her there.

We hired Shannon as our doula to help with the birth. She was good about communicating with us beforehand, and had answers for all of our questions. She helped empower me during my labor and pushing, and I appreciated having her there to support, guide, and comfort me through that time. Once I had given birth, she taught me how to nurse my baby. I was glad to have such a supportive woman at my side through it all. She also took a lot of pressure off of my husband by comforting and encouraging me (since he didn’t quite know how to help me at that time), which we very much appreciated. Overall, it was a good experience.
