Mitzi Kincade

Responds within a day

Hi, I’m Mitzi — a Denver-based postpartum doula and wellness practitioner providing gentle, holistic daytime care rooted in tradition, compassion, and practical support. As a mother watching my own two sons grow, I know how fast and precious the early days are, and how much care parents need during this transformation. I specialize in traditional Mexican postpartum practices designed to restore warmth, energy, and strength after birth. My goal is to honor your physical healing, create a peaceful home environment, and help you feel confident throughout the fourth trimester. I take an intuitive, proactive approach so you never have to manage me or hand over a to-do list. I step in where support is needed most—whether that’s tending to your baby so you can get uninterrupted rest, preparing a nourishing meal, or tidying up. Whether you need hands-on infant care, light household support, or traditional recovery rituals, I am here to ensure your entire family feels grounded, supported, and nurtured. Outside of supporting families, you’ll usually find me tending to my garden or reconnecting with my Hispanic roots, which deeply shapes how I care for others.

Mitzi was a great support during my postpartum period. She provided helpful advice, guided me through recovery, and made me feel comfortable asking questions. The rebozo massages and cupping therapy she did were relaxing and really helped my body recover. She was professional, attentive, and caring, and it was clear how much she genuinely cares for both mother and baby. My little one loved her too, she handled him with such gentleness and warmth. I would definitely recommend Mitzi to any new mother looking for supportive, thoughtful, and skilled postpartum care.

Working with our Cass was hands-down the best decision we made for our birth journey. From our very first meeting, her calm, reassuring presence completely eased our anxieties and helped us feel empowered. During the most intense moments of labor, she was an incredible coach and a steady rock for both my husband and me. She advocated beautifully for our birth plan, ensuring our choices were respected by the medical staff while guiding us through positions, induction processes, and pain relief with so much knowledge and gentleness. We truly felt like we had an expert and a dear friend by our side the entire time. If you are looking for a doula who is deeply compassionate, attentive, and empowering, we cannot recommend her highly enough!

Hiring Kristen as our doula was the best thing I did for my pregnancy and birth. She made herself available throughout the final few months of my pregnancy via countless texts and phone calls prepared to answer all the wild questions I had about any symptoms or feelings. When I finally went into labor, none of us knew I’d be in it for a whopping 60 hours before my son was in my arms. I could go on and on about all the things she did to help get my son in an optimal position (there were many) but at the end of the day, she was just there for me. There for me when I thought I’d be having an unmedicated birth center birth. There for me when we had to have a c-section instead. And there for me after while I processed it all. She is amazing and I’d hire her again and again and again.

My husband and I worked with Jamie in the fall of 2021, when our first son was born. We chose a 'virtual' package, with options for video calls, phone calls, and texting. This service was exactly what we needed, and I honestly cannot say enough positive things about Jamie in this review. Her constant advocacy for the health and happiness of our son (and therefore his parents!) was incredible, including acknowledgment, understanding, listening, asking questions, and providing thoughtful recommendations (solutions to try) or references (for example to other local providers) for us to use. She even connected us to other parents selling used baby gear to purchase products to try. Knowing she had my back was such a crucial part of our first few months, and now I tell everyone if there's one thing you do for yourself and your baby in the birthing process- it's to hire a postpartum doula. Everyone should be so lucky to have Jamie have their back, available for that phone call or text when you're having your toughest moments. The reassurance is invaluable. For us, we didn't feel we needed someone in our home in person, but we needed that number to call when we had questions, and that's exactly what the virtual package provided. We give Jamie ten stars, not five, and we highly recommend working with her!

My name is Carisa Niemyer and I work as a doula and doula trainer in Colorado SpringsI found my way into doula work through the birth of my first child. My story didn't go exactly how I wanted and my baby had her own story of how she wanted to be born, as these babes often do. But after my delivery I felt so empowered and supported and loved my story. Much of the reason this was true was because of the support of a doula. That experience led me into the world of birth work and I have now been a doula for 18 years, working in both birth and postpartum, as well as training new doulas at Birthingway College of Midwifery in Portland OR as well as in my own training organization here in Colorado Springs. I am passionate about supporting families in whatever their birth choices are, and believe non-judgemental, continuous support thought a families journey can make all the difference! I have worked with a lot of families over the years and each story has been unique and beautiful. I have experience is both high risk and low risk pregnancies. Hospital births as well as home births. I also have experience with twins and triplets, both in birth and postpartum work. My hope is that each family I work with feels empowered and supported in whatever choices they make as they boldly enter this new season of life!

When I tell my birth story, I always end up singing Carissa's praises! She was there for us as we prepped for the birth of our first son and was by my side throughout labor and delivery. She was so encouraging and grounding and kept me going throughout an extremely exhausting labor process. My homebirth didn't go as expected, and I ended up pushing for over 3 hours at home before I transferred to the hospital and eventually ended up getting a c-section due to really tricky positioning. Carissa was by my side from 7 am to about 1 am the next day when my son finally arrived. At home, Carissa encouraged me, helped me try every position imaginable to encourage my baby to come down, and helped my husband know how to best support and love me. When we transferred, Carissa was by my side the whole time, explaining things to me and helping us make choices for each next step. When we finally went in for our C-section, I was able to pick one other person to be there, aside from my husband, and Carissa was the obvious choice (even over my sister and my midwife, both whom I adore, of course!). Carissa also took the most amazing photos with one of our phones during the surgery and I'm so thankful to have those memories! She was there for me in recovery and helped my son latch for the first time and continued to be a support to me in postpartum. I tell ALL of my friends who are having babies to hire Carissa, and of course, it was a no-brainer that she would be by my side as I deliver my second baby in a matter of weeks! If you're looking for a doula, look no further!

I am deeply honored to be part of the doula community, walking alongside mothers during their unique birth experiences. I look forward to supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, knowing that each journey will be as distinct as the families themselves. What remains constant in every story is the incredible beauty of the unknown, how each baby will arrive and the joy this new little person will bring into their lives. As a doula, I am truly grateful to each family that invites me into their journey, and I am committed to offering support that leaves you feeling confident in your choices and empowered as you step into parenthood. In my role as your doula, I work with you during pregnancy to understand what's most important to you in this season of life. I provide nonjudgmental support and evidence based information to guide you in making decisions about your delivery and parenting plans. Whether offering physical and emotional support, or advocacy, I am here to be by your side. I provide continuous labor support from the time you feel you need it until your baby is in your arms and you're ready to settle in together. I cherish working with families as they navigate the transformative moments of birth and the early postpartum weeks, and I am always honored to be part of this special season in their lives. When I'm not supporting families, I love adventuring with my husband and three children, tending to our garden, spending time with our farm animals, learning all things homeopathy, and, of course, enjoying a good cup of coffee!

We LOVED working with Jenna as our doula!! She was so so kind, very informative (which I wanted), and a peaceful presence to look to during a very intense labor and delivery process. While my labor didn’t go how I hoped Jenna never stopped supporting me, reminding me of my options, and loving me. She was so loving and supportive to my husband throughout the whole process as well, which meant the world. I ended up needing a c-section and Jenna stayed the 3 hours at the hospital so she could see me and baby after that (keep in mind she’d been there almost 24 hours already). That speaks to the intentionality and care she had for all three of us! Jenna was exactly who I needed by my side as I labored and then ultimately had to make hard decisions. She was ever present and uplifted me when I was discouraged! She even went out of her way to love on me and support me postpartum which will always stick with me. I could not recommend Jenna enough!! If you’re looking for a gentle, kind, sweet, educated, and selfless doula, Jenna is your girl!! We’re so thankful we got to work with her!!

Christina Hightower, BSN-RN, LCCE

Hi, I’m Christina Nurse. Doula. Educator. RYT 200. Mother. Air Force Veteran. And a lifelong student of the sacred unfolding of birth. I believe birth is a threshold—a place where time softens, the soul speaks, and the body remembers how to open. My journey began in the hospital, serving birthing people as a labor and postpartum nurse. There, I witnessed both the strength of the human spirit and the ways modern care can overlook the deeper layers of the birthing experience—the heart, the spirit… the knowing. What I longed to offer was more than clinical care. I wanted to blend evidence-based practice with intuition—to hold space for both the science and the soul of birth. So I stepped out of sterile rooms and into the sacred work of bridging that gap—and founded Nest & Soul. Text 719-370-9335 to connect!

Christina was my doula for my third birth and I am beyond happy with the care she provided my baby and myself before, during and after my delivery. After having a traumatic birth experience with my second, I knew I wanted to hire a doula as extra support for my third birth. Christina met and exceeded all of my expectations: she gave me tools to mentally prepare for my third birth that lead to me having my most beautiful birth yet. I especially loved that she wasn’t negative towards me getting an induction when it became medically necessary, and she supported me every step of the way. Her education and additional certifications provided me with information and options that I believe prevented unnecessary interventions. She is not only extremely wise, but also professional and kind. I’m so happy I made the decision to have her as my doula, and I will be recommending her to everyone I know!
