I had the absolute pleasure of working with Elizabeth for my postpartum care, and I can’t recommend her enough. From the very beginning, she was warm, knowledgeable, and truly invested in my recovery and well-being as a mom. Elizabeth was incredibly hands-on and efficient, always one step ahead of what I needed, whether it was helping with breastfeeding, soothing the baby, or making sure I had time to rest and heal. She supported not just me, but our whole family, creating a calm and comforting environment that made a huge difference during those early, overwhelming days. Elizabeth offered both practical support and emotional care in a way that felt natural. Most importantly, Elizabeth was reliable, respectful, and incredibly thoughtful. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares and brings both heart and expertise to her work, she’s exactly who you want by your side during birth and even more after!

I usually say I accidentally fell into the field of birth work, but I guess that's not totally true. After spending a decade abroad running a foster home/cardiac surgery program for babies with complex congenital heart defects and maternal/fetal health programs for at-risk indigenous families, I unexpectedly found myself stuck in New York City in early 2020, waiting out this little bug called "Covid-19" that was shutting borders all around the world... I certified as a birth & postpartum doula in the USA in 2020, to be with my best friend for the birth of her first child in the midst of Covid protocols. I never could have imagined how much I would fall in love with birthwork here in the United States and it is the greatest honor to walk alongside families as they grow and change (in whatever capacity!), providing unbiased & judgment-free support, advocacy, guidance, and care during such intimate and pivotal moments.

Hello there! I'm Isha, your dedicated elite certified newborn care specialist, postpartum doula, and birth doula with over a decade of experience helping families navigate the beautiful chaos of new parenthood. What parents often call my "baby whisperer" abilities are simply the result of 10 years spent learning the subtle language of newborns and creating calm in what can feel like the eye of a hurricane. When I'm not supporting growing families, you can find me performing improv and comedy on stages across New York City, channeling my creative energy into laughter and storytelling. And yes, if you catch me making Star Trek references during our time together, that's just the Trekkie in me coming out—boldly going where many exhausted parents have gone before, but with a touch of humor and expertise to light the way.

I am a DONA-certified, Carrot Fertility-approved postpartum doula servicing Manhattan and Brooklyn, with a passion for supporting families during the transformative postpartum period. I am infant CPR, and first-aid certified. My mission is to provide guidance, care, and reassurance as you navigate the joys and challenges that come with welcoming a new member into your family.

Mia became a part of our family shortly after the birth of our second child. Having hired an overnight doula for our first, we knew this time around, with two little ones under two, we’d need even more support. From the moment Mia arrived, she was extraordinary. She intuitively understood the rhythm of our home and our unique challenges. I trusted her completely with my newborn, which allowed me to give my toddler the attention she needed. Mia provided unwavering emotional support and was remarkably proactive, anticipating our needs before we could voice them. She brought calm and clarity during a time when I often felt overwhelmed, almost like the part of my brain that wasn’t functioning in the haze of postpartum. Whether it was preparing nourishing snacks, offering thoughtful breastfeeding support, or simply being a grounding presence, Mia was indispensable. Her presence during those intense early weeks was nothing short of a gift. I could not recommend Mia more highly. - Aisling S.

When my wife and I hired Brie as our doula, we expected guidance through birth — but what we got was so much more. After a traumatic delivery, we came home overwhelmed and exhausted. Brie immediately became our anchor — organizing, advocating, and surrounding us with the right support so we could focus on healing and bonding with our baby. Through her postpartum care agency, she personally screened and matched us with incredible doulas, handled every detail, and checked in constantly to make sure we were cared for. Her compassion, professionalism, and calm energy turned a chaotic time into one filled with stability and hope. If you’re looking for someone who goes above and beyond — not just during birth but in the critical weeks that follow — Brie is the one you want by your side. We’re endlessly grateful for her impact on our family.

I set out to become a birth doula over 25 years ago after becoming a massage therapist, but I put this career goal on hold until my children became adults. I finally achieved my goal and became certified as a birth doula this year. As a seasoned massage therapist, I offer a broad understanding of a person's physical and emotional needs, especially during this special time as you prepare your body for the birth of your baby.

Recent review

I had such an amazing birth experience with Elyse! My first labor and delivery were really tough, it was traumatic and ended in a C-section. It actually took me years to even think about having another baby because I was so afraid of going through that again. Multiple doctors told me I’d probably need another C-section, that because I pushed for so long the first time, a vaginal birth wasn’t likely. It left me feeling broken and like my body just couldn’t do it. When I finally decided I wanted to try for a VBAC, I knew I needed extra support and that’s when I found Elyse. She was the first doula I interviewed, and honestly, after that first conversation, I knew she was the one. She really listened to my story and my fears, and right away she helped me believe that my body wasn’t broken and that a vaginal birth was possible for me. Throughout my pregnancy, Elyse was amazing. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and always made me feel calm and supported. She answered all my questions, showed me exercises to prepare for labor, and constantly reminded me that I was capable and strong. When I went into labor, she was there for me right away. She helped set such a peaceful, calming vibe in the hospital room with music, lights, diffuser, etc. She massaged me, helped me get into different positions, advocated for me, and reminded me to take my time and make decisions that felt right for me. She supported me without judgment and kept me grounded the whole time. Because of Elyse, I had the redemptive birth experience I’d been dreaming of, a successful VBAC! She also made sure my husband felt included and confident throughout the whole process. Even after birth, she checked in on me and connected me with great postpartum resources. I seriously can’t thank her enough. She’s knowledgeable, calming, and truly cares about her clients. I wouldn’t have had my dream birth without her!

Caitlin comes to Doula work from a background in theatre and physiology. She had fought to understand her own body as she grew up with Developmental Dyspraxia. However, what she always thought of as her greatest weakness, has turned into her greatest strength over the years. As a child every time Caitlin learned a new physical skill she had to break it down step by step for her brain to fully understand it. This gave her a great understanding of human physiology. She applied this understanding of the human body to help numerous clients while working as a personal trainer at Blink Fitness and New York Sports Club. Throughout her life Caitlin was always struck by the distrust of the human body when it came to birth. She had always been fascinated by/or even in awe of birth. During her own journey to having children she finally realized what she wanted to be when she grew up. A Doula. It combined her deep understanding of physiology with her desire to empower people to trust their own bodies, no matter what the birth plan. Caitlin took her DONA training in summer of 2021 and finished the DONA certification process at the end of 2022. Caitlin already has a wide range of experience when it comes to birth. Areas she experienced with include, home birth, hospital birth, birth center care, unmedicated birth, Hypnobirthing, preeclampsia, planned and emergency C-Section, pregnancy resulting from fertility treatment, induction, married and unmarried partners, interracial couples, parents with disabilities, pregnancy with special diets (Vegan, Gestational Diabetes, Kosher ect.) "My goal as a doula is to facilitate a positive birth experience for the growing family, whatever that birth experience may look like. I am happy to work with families with all different types of birth plans, backgrounds and family preferences. It is my strong belief that a Doula should be accessible to all birthing people regardless of gender, sexuality, race, disability, faith, or socioeconomic background."

My best friend asked me to be "her doula" 17 years ago. I flew to LA and planned to be there for 10 days in hopes the baby would come in that window of time. I sang and whispered into her belly and Introduced myself to her baby. We had quite a time during the labor as her midwives guided her through the experience. She was incredible! She chose a home birth which ended at the hospital. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Witnessing the birth was transcendent and inspiring! When I flew back to NYC, I vowed that when our youngest daughter was in college, I would become a Doula. I grew up in Minnesota. I graduated with a BFA from the acting program at the University of North Carolina School of the Performing Arts. I have a background in dance, singing, yoga and martial arts. I was an American Council of Exercise certified personal trainer for 12 years. When I became pregnant, becoming a certified prenatal trainer was ideal. I especially loved working with all my pregnant clients. Having an online health and wellness business with Arbonne International has been another passion of mine. Over the years, I have coached a team on how to build their own online businesses and shared this opportunity in a public speaking setting for large groups. I teach my clients the benefits of aligning with a vegan brand they can trust and the value of choosing a B corporation, and living a more green lifestyle. I am a certified Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula with the International Doula Institute. I am also certified as a Perinatal Nutrition Educator, Birth Educator and Lactation Counselor. I hold a certification in Diversity Equity and Inclusion. I am also first aid, AED/CPR certified for pediatric and adults through the Red cross. Being present, and relying on my emotional intelligence, knowledge and discernment, helps me to navigate how to best listen and anticipate a person's needs. I embody joyful humor as my way to serve others. I bring warm energy, passion and authenticity to the people I spend time with. I'm a lifelong student who loves to learn, grow and collaborate. I believe these qualities, as a birth team member, contribute to the overall outcome and experience of all involved. I live in Harlem with my husband. We have two daughters. Hobbies: singing in choir, biking, and lifting weights. I also enjoy baking, reading and traveling. I love conversations over dinner with my husband and friends, and going to the theater and jazz clubs. Walking in nature each day is key to living in my joy, and of course, fitting as many plants and flowers into our home as humanly possible!

Julia was a huge help to us in all parts of the process of welcoming our daughter Colette. She made Candy as comfortable as possible throughout the labor and helped her through the hardest parts. Even with a relatively smooth delivery, there were many decisions to make and Julia was a calming presence as well as an advisor and advocate. The postpartum sessions were a godsend for getting our newborn care started off on the right foot. We were very happy to have been able to work with Julia on our journey!

Hello! I’m Gabrielle. A little bit about me and what sets me apart: I am an Ayurvedic birth and postpartum doula, an Holistic Pregnancy and Birth Practitioner (HPBP), and I am in my final year of a Master of Science degree in Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda Health. And, aside from all of that, I have been a career nanny for over a decade with experience working with moms and postpartum. My knowledge of this ancient wisdom of Ayurveda allows me to bring a unique approach to your postpartum by focusing on nourishment, healing, rest, + bonding. My focus is to hold you so you can hold your baby. As we enter into this sacred journey together, know that my intention during every stage is done with the utmost reverence and respect for the art of bringing new life into the world, and I am merely a bystander in your new journey to motherhood. I am so looking forward to serving you.

Gabrielle is an absolute star! My husband and I met her when I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant and stayed in touch and close until the birth of our baby girl. We’d settled on a postpartum care package which quickly began to involve overnight support and general help / care for our newborn. It was clear from the moment we met Gabrielle that her sound judgment, introspection, and thoughtfulness as a human being made up the essence of her work. Frankly, we wanted no one else around helping us and being around our new little addition to the family. Our trust in her was immense from the get go. Gabrielle is warm, generous, wise beyond her years, and always there to respect and communicate through a parent’s journey. She is honest and prizes true matches with families - like us, she is all about connecting on a deeper level. Gabrielle believes deeply in the positive of fostering positive and nurturing energy - she has a true commitment to her passion of supporting families in the greatest of life’s adventures! We have come to greatly prize her authenticity, reliability and genuine love of children (in this case, our little baby girl!). We hope this is only the beginning of years of collaboration and work with Gabrielle!

My experience as a Doula dates back to when I supported family and friends, unknowingly providing post-partum and supportive care. I've worked in the healthcare field for 15 (+) years at various hospitals & clinics, specifically in women's reproductive health. Having worked in both the private & public sectors of healthcare, I realized I wanted to not only support but advocate for those who could not speak out for themselves, all while being a source to women that needed resources. I didn't realize that all of this would bring me full circle to my purpose of becoming a doula! I've worked with women and families, providing evidence-based support for labor, post-partum, mental, & spiritual needs. During the 4th trimester (postpartum) Not only will I support and offer education as to what to expect for yourself during this physically and emotional time but I will also help you understand your newborn developments and milestones. No pregnancy or postpartum is ever the same; I encounter each one with an open mind & and heart, giving you the support that I know will put your mind at ease.
