Alyssa Deal

Saline, Michigan

Alyssa Deal

3 years of experience

Hi! My name is Alyssa I am a birth doula and living in southeast Michigan. I have always loved babies, caring for my friends, and giving my all and helping whenever they are pregnant, postpartum, or simply raising their families. I have always enjoyed being able to offer acts of service and support to others, and becoming a doula has helped me embrace this love language in so many new ways I never knew possible. With becoming a doula, my goal is to help support new families and moms by emotionally and physically supporting them through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Advocating for them with knowledge, and helping them make thought out decisions when needed in labor. I want to help every mom take back their birth and make it an experience they love to talk about and remember. As said in Isaiah chapter 66, verse 13, “As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you.” My goal as a doula is to hold the mother through every stage and be there for her and her family.

Alyssa was so supportive during my pregnancy and is still holding me up through post-partum and the newborn trenches. I was so thankful for her continued support during my labor when midwife and nurse shifts would change, she was a constant. I don’t think that my labor experience would have been as positive or would have gone as smoothly without Alyssa there to support me and my husband. I feel so appreciative of her support through this time in my life and I can honestly say that I gained a friend. 11/10 would recommend Alyssa to be your doula.

I have nothing but great things to say about Debra! I was her client during 2024, and had my son in November 2024. I never hired a doula with my oldest so the process was as new to me and I wasn't sure what to expect, but Debra met me where I was at and guided me through the process so it was effortless. She was always available either by text or call and always checked in on me and made sure that I had any information and support I may need! I'm not in contact with my mother so Debra, being and mother and grandmother herself brought the motherly vibes which looking back is something I personally preferred Vs having a doula around my age. She actively listened to my preferences surrounding my birth experience and when the time came she was both respectful and thoughtful of my wishes. She advocated for things I didn't want in the delivery room for me while I was deep in labor. If you want a kind, caring, compassionate, reliable, and loving doula please don't think twice about hiring Debra you will not regret it!

To Whom It May Concern, We wholeheartedly recommend Megan McLaughlin as a Newborn Care Specialist. Megan was with us for 12 hours a night, for 12 weeks, starting the night we came home from the hospital with our newborn. As the saying goes, it takes a village, and we are grateful that Megan was part of ours. As first-time parents, we were especially grateful for Megan's knowledge and experience. From swaddling techniques to bottle expiration, we learned from her gentle guidance. Megan's expertise was invaluable in helping us establish a routine and gain confidence in our new roles. Megan's duties included cleaning and sanitizing bottles, pacifiers, and pump parts, preparing and feeding bottles, handling baby's laundry, changing diapers, and organizing the nursery. She performed these responsibilities with the love and care we would hope for from a family member. Her meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach ensured that everything was in perfect order, allowing us to focus on bonding with our baby. Beyond her technical skills, Megan's warmth and compassion made a significant impact on our family. We truly looked forward to seeing her every day. Her calm and reassuring presence provided us with much-needed support during a time of transition and adjustment. She not only took excellent care of our daughter but also helped us navigate the challenges of new parenthood with ease and confidence. I have more two decades of training and practice as a Maternal Child Health Specialist. For nearly a decade, I worked in a private practice in New York, where nearly a thousand families are served each year, before moving to the greater Detroit area. I sat boards and became certified as an IBCLC in 2010. My university education was uniquely focused on the history of women and infant health care and nutrition as well as practical assessment and support of new families. I have helped women conquer the often challenging stages of lactation. From issues with newborn latching to pain and increasing milk production, I have worked with women to help them have successful nursing experiences – whatever that means for them. As a guest lecturer at medical schools, I have been called upon to teach medical students, interns, and residents in pediatrics and obstetrics about lactation, and have been called in by obstetricians and pediatricians to consult on breastfeeding topics. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Maternal and Child Health and Lactation Consulting at the Union Institute and University of Cincinnati, OH. I am the mother of six and nursed them all for a combined total of over 14 years! Christina was amazing! I was feeling so discouraged with my breastfeeding journey after having mastitis a few times and she was able to help me pinpoint what the causes might be. After meeting with her and following her suggestions i have been mastitis free and truly enjoying my breastfeeding journey. Christina is so knowledgeable, personable, and caring. She took her time with me and baby and made sure all my questions/concerns were addressed. I immediately felt comfortable with her and would use her services again! I highly recommend her!!

I am so greatful to have one of the best Doula’s around. The help I receive on a weekly basis is the reason I am able to get through postpartum without going crazy. I love that she listens, and find ways to help. She’s so good with my babies they love her and my toddler calls her Aunty lol. She’s also very professional!

— Journey with Jules, review of Kamya Jabari July 2026

Aris is an absolutely incredible doula. I recently gave birth to my first child and can honestly say that having Aris at my birth made what would have otherwise been a pretty traumatic experience, a very calm and empowering one. My birth plan had to pretty much go out the window due to unpredictable events during labor, and Aris was with me every step of the way, helping me feel like I was still in control when everything seemed like it was crumbling. She helped me reframe things in ways that my brain could understand at the time, and for that I am so grateful! She also advocated for me at multiple points to keep whatever aspects of my birth plan could still be safely implemented. She constantly anticipated my needs during the labor process and never once seemed tired despite staying up with us all throughout the night. She was also amazing at physically supporting me during labor with various counter-pressure and distracting sensation techniques. She taught my husband what to do as well, but honestly she was 1000x better at it and was so much stronger than him lol! My husband and I are both physicians who are relatively educated about the birth process, but she is truly a labor and delivery expert and taught us so much. Her experience as a labor and delivery nurse as well as a mother of five children makes her extremely qualified for this role. I cannot think of anyone I would recommend more if you are looking for a doula. If you are considering having a doula support you during your pregnancy/birth/postpartum, choose Aris -- you won't regret it! It was truly the best decision we made for my birth.

— Jess Cummings, review of Aris Ervin July 2026

I cannot recommend my doula enough! She was by my side through not one, but two induction experiences, and I truly don't know what I would have done without her. During my first induction, it became clear that my body simply wasn't ready. She helped me understand all of my options so I could make informed decisions without ever feeling pressured. With her support, I ultimately chose to leave the hospital and trust my body to do its thing, and I will always be grateful for how empowered and confident she made me feel. When I was induced again for the birth of our baby, she was there every step of the way. Through every contraction, she used massage and counter-pressure, guided me with Christian HypnoBirthing affirmations, and brought such a calm, peaceful presence into the room. When I became overwhelmed during my epidural, she held me as I cried and helped me through one of the hardest moments of labor. She wasn't just an incredible support for me—she was amazing for my entire family. She anticipated our needs, encouraged us every step of the way, and made us all feel supported and cared for throughout the entire birth experience. Hiring her was one of the best decisions we made. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, faith-filled, and truly passionate about helping families. If you're on the fence about hiring a doula, this is your sign. She helped make my birth experience empowering, peaceful, and unforgettable, and I truly could not have done it without her.
