Hello, my name is Amazine Kendricks, founder of Kalming Kendricks Postpartum Doula. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. A couple of fun things about me: I love hiking and collecting little trinkets that I’ll probably never use! Growing up as the oldest of five children, I saw early on how important—and sometimes challenging—it can be for families to receive the care and support they need when welcoming a new baby. With six years of experience supporting families during the postpartum period, I decided to further my education and become a Certified Community Doula through Three Moons Doula Collective in 2025. I pursued this certification specifically so I could become a Medi-Cal doula provider, allowing me to expand access to doula care and support families in my community who may not otherwise have access to these services. I believe postpartum care is not one-size-fits-all. I tailor my support to the individual needs of each mother and family. I bring a loving, compassionate, and attentive presence into the home, taking the time to listen, notice changes, and step in wherever support is needed during this vulnerable transition. My goal is to care for mothers tenderly throughout the fourth trimester. I believe that with the birth of each baby, a mother is born, too—and she deserves to be nurtured alongside her newborn. Whether that means preparing nourishing food, keeping her hydrated, encouraging rest, creating space for quiet time, or simply being present and listening, my care centers the mother while supporting the entire family.
