I'm a queer, Black birth worker offering sliding scale doula care in the East Bay. I was born and raised in Oakland and I only take on a handful of clients at a time so that I can give you as much individualized attention as possible. I trained as a full-spectrum doula in 2021 with Sumi's Touch and have been actively supporting clients in the transformative process of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum for over a year. Before that, I worked as an infant-toddler teacher for years and I incorporate education on newborn care in my work as a doula. I believe that education and information is critical to you being able to make choices that work best for you and go into birth with confidence and grounding in your abilities and understanding of your own body and baby. The goal of every birth is to create an environment and process that is uniquely comfortable and grounding for the person giving birth and so I provide a number of prenatal sessions to prepare parents with the knowledge and tools to make their own informed decisions while also being ready to step in and advocate on behalf of the parents' needs at any point. I am particularly interested in mindful birthing and finding the methods of pain reduction that work for each person, building a birth environment that feels as familiar and homey as possible (music, lighting, calming scents, etc), and being anything and everything you may need from home to the hospital, whether that be a coach, cook, massage therapist, fierce advocate, or photographer. I also have an affinity for postpartum care that encompasses lactation support, postpartum healing, herbal remedies, baby care, or just doing your dishes so you don’t have to worry about that too.

I was in labor for three days, and I can’t imagine how I would’ve managed without Leila. She is the support every person deserves during this process. She listened to my needs and helped me create a birth plan that reflected my personality. At the hospital, she advocated for me fiercely, pushing for alternatives that aligned with my wishes, even when the medical team repeatedly fear-mongered. Postpartum, she offered invaluable advice that helped me process my labor experience and navigate lactation. I am incredibly grateful that I had her by my side.

My mission is to create safe, empowering experiences for all birthing people—honoring your unique birth preferences, whether natural, medicated, cesarean, or VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Hi! I am a holistic certified full spectrum doula, meaning I specialize in prenatal care, labor and delivery (birth doula), and postpartum support. I love working with pregnant moms, and what makes me unique is that I offer quality, personalized care for moms and their birth partners. I am calm, down to earth, patient, and heart-centered. I like keeping my clients inspired and informed about their care. I am compassionate. I advocate fully for the families I serve and truly feel that this is my calling. My primary goal is to help moms feel safe and supported with smooth pregnancies and healthy pregnancy outcomes. Together we can do this :) As a holistic doula, I use evidence-based research in my practice and have over twenty years of experience working in holistic health, serving female clients and their birth partners. I work with families to develop comfort measures throughout pregnancy, relaxation techniques, birth partner support, and a comprehensive birth and postpartum plan. To be as flexible and accommodating as possible, I offer telehealth visits, in-person visits, and phone calls. My own journey to becoming a mom is quite unique. After years of infertility, several rounds of IUI, and even IVF, I finally had my miracle baby. I know firsthand how valuable a doula is in a mother's life, supporting her entire journey while also providing support to precious birth partners. I am passionate about helping provide access to mothers who need it most, offering comfort and care during their pregnancy journey while helping reduce disparities in maternal health. On a personal note, in addition to my doula work, I have an extensive background as a facilitator with a wide range of communities, uplifting women and youth while creating film and photography. I also have an extensive background in Higher Education. I am spiritual, and this grounds how I show up for every family I serve, listening closely to their needs, providing emotional support and comfort, and advocating for them every step of the way. My goal is to help every family feel informed, supported, and cared for throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. I can’t recommend Jaye Danielle enough if you’re considering a doula! Her communication, well-thought-out advice, and preparation were so helpful throughout the whole process. The in-home labor prep was especially helpful in getting us ready for what to expect. Since our daughter was born, Jaye has continued to check in, do postpartum checks, and offer advice and support. I really appreciated having someone knowledgeable to help guide us through not just labor and delivery, but postpartum too. I’m so grateful we had Jaye there to support us through it all. 💗

I support individuals and families through every stage of the reproductive experience: preconception, pregnancy, birth, loss, and postpartum, with care that’s holistic, culturally sensitive, and rooted in real life, not just the birth plan on paper. As a certified Full Spectrum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), and Child Passenger Safety Technician, I bring a full care to every experience I join, so you’re not juggling five different providers for the pieces that matter most. Lactation support is close to my heart. Feeding is one of the areas where folks get the least real preparation and the most pressure. I’m here to make sure you have grounded, judgment~ free support from day one, whether that’s latch troubleshooting, pumping logistics, or just someone reminding you that “enough” looks different for everyone and every baby. With over ten years of experience and maternal, paternal & child care, I’ve learned that the best support isn’t performative. It’s steady. I show up prepared, I listen first, and I meet you where you actually are, not where a checklist says you should be. My approach draws on trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice, and I welcome everyone, however your household looks, whatever your experience has brought you. If you’re looking for a doula who treats your experience as sacred and specific to you, I’d love to be part of your life

Kirstie was so amazing in guiding me through my birth. She taught me about having a birth plan and having it written it out so that doctors would follow my wishes. A birth plan was something I hadn’t even thought of but Kirstie was instrumental in helping me think ahead and giving me the best chance of having a safe birth for me and baby. She was also great in my postpartum. She checked in often and helped me breastfeeding. Teaching me massage that help milk production and foods I can eat also to help my milk supply. She thinks about all your needs before you even realize you need it. She’s a warm, calming presence to have at your most vulnerable time. There’s no other person I would recommend when looking for help in your birth and postpartum journey. Kirstie is simply the best!

Hi, I’m Rhonda! I’m a Certified Birth Doula and Maternal-Child Health Nurse with 10 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby care. My goal is to create a peaceful, nurturing space where parents feel informed, cared for, and confident. Based in the Bay Area, I serve Emeryville and surrounding communities. I’m also a proud mom of three grown children and love reading, exploring California, and spending time with my family. Calm nights. Compassionate care. With loving hands. 🤍

Recent review

Being this my first pregnancy, I was looking for a doula who had a medical background and would strongly advocate for my preferences and wellbeing. Rhonda was professionally prepared to support my partner and myself during my pregnancy. She was very thorough in explaining the birthing preference list, making sure that I was well informed on my birthing preferences. She was very patient in explaining the interventions during my induction, such as procedures and medications. Rhonda also did a great job in relaying my birthing preferences to the nurses and doctors. During my labor, Rhonda created a relaxing environment, providing calming scent diffusers and words of affirmation cards. She also helped me in changing positions to alleviate pain and to move the labor process along. Whenever the staff made a suggestion, Rhonda made sure to break down the information using evidence-based data. This allowed me to have a positive and memorable birthing experience. Rhonda was very responsive via text and email. She also made sure to check in with us after delivery to see if we needed any support and to debrief on the experience. I would definitely recommend Rhonda for anyone going through their first birth.

Hi, I’m Sheila. I’m a faith based birth & postpartum doula, photographer, and most importantly, a mom who knows how deeply personal this season of life can be. Becoming a mother myself changed the way I see birth. I remember the emotions, the questions, the vulnerability, and the overwhelming feeling of wanting someone beside you who simply gets it. That experience is what led me to doula work — because I wanted to become the person I wish every mother could have in her corner: someone who listens without judgment, stays calm when things feel overwhelming, helps you understand your options, and reminds you of your strength when you need it most. With over six years of experience working with children and families, professional doula training, continued mentorship, and my own experience as a mom, I bring both knowledge and genuine heart into the room. I’m not there to take over your birth or tell you how it should go — I’m there to learn you, support your wishes, help you feel prepared, and be the steady presence you can lean on. And because I’m also a photographer, I have a special love for capturing the little moments you may not even realize are happening — the first touch, the tears, the tiny details, and the way your family changes in an instant. My packages can also include birth photography, postpartum meal prep, and a postpartum visit, so my support doesn’t simply end when your baby arrives. I want you to feel like you found your person someone you can text, laugh with, cry with, ask the “is this normal?” questions, and feel completely comfortable being yourself around. If you’re looking for someone who will care for you like a person, not just a client, I’d love to meet you. 🤍
