In 2017, she attended a DONA doula training, a pivotal step in her commitment to supporting women during labor. As a student, Brianna volunteered at a local maternity home, offering prenatal nutrition classes and doula services. In 2019, she expanded her impact by volunteering with AmeriCorps as a Community Health Worker in Southern Utah, addressing social determinants of health. This experience underscored the strength of community and the importance of continuity of care. After completing her 12-month term, Brianna moved to San Diego to attend Midwifery school and commenced her clinical placement with San Diego Midwife in 2020. As a midwife, Brianna blends her foundation in psychology with specialized midwifery training, emphasizing a compassionate and empathetic approach. Her dedication extends to providing holistic care throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum phases, emphasizing both the physical and emotional well-being of mothers. Hi, I’m Emma—founder of Solstice Birth Co, and a birth worker with over a decade of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My journey into this work began in a deeply personal way—witnessing birth as a child, I was struck by how powerful, raw, and transformative it was. That early experience stayed with me and ultimately led me down the path of midwifery. Years later, I went on to have my own home birth with my daughter in 2009—an experience that further rooted my belief in the body’s innate wisdom and the importance of feeling safe, supported, and truly seen during birth. I went on to train as a traditionally trained midwife (CPM, LM), working hands-on with families across California and building a strong clinical and intuitive foundation in the midwifery model of care—one that honors pregnancy and birth as physiologic, sacred, and deeply human experiences. At this time, I am no longer offering home birth midwifery care. Instead, I’ve shifted into a more integrative and supportive role—one that allows me to walk alongside women and families in a deeply personalized way through Solstice Birth Co.
