I am also a Certified Fertility Doula (CFD), Reproductive Health Specialist (RHS), Postpartum Doula (PPD), Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), and Infant Feeding Specialist (IFS). My desire to become a postpartum doula began after I experienced the struggles that come along with having a newborn. Although the fourth trimester is a very exciting time, it can also be extremely challenging. There was so much I didn’t know, especially around my mental health and what to expect. With my firstborn, my labor and delivery was long and hard, which led me to having certain interventions I didn’t plan on. For the next few months, I had feelings of inadequency and really struggled emotionally. I did not have close family living nearby to help and though it was tough at times, this journey gave me a profound appetite to support others in their postpartum journey. I have a passion for celebrating the postpartum period and educating, empowering, and helping families. When I’m not working as a doula, you can find me at home spending time with my husband and two boys (5 and 7), cuddling up with a good book or boating on Lake Norman.
