Hi, I'm Teri-Ann and I am a certified childbirth educator and doula through Birthing From Within™ as well as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist™. I am passionate about helping parents prepare for birth but also to thrive rather than survive the 4th-trimester (what comes after birth). I Want You To Know... * Birth is just the beginning of your parental activation journey, it's the top of the mountain, your return is as important to prepare for as the birth is. * Knowledge is power and the better you understand what is coming your way, the better you’ll feel going through it. * This transformation will be hard. * Your relationship and how you see your partner will change. * You will never understand what sleep deprivation feels like until you look after a newborn baby. * Pregnancy changes your DNA, it changes your hormones, it changes how well your organs function too. So why doesn't our current prenatal care educate women on how to keep their body functioning optimally so the whole family benefits from having more energy, better health, and improved milk quality for your baby to enjoy. * Lactation depletes the already depleted body and birth recovery looks different for every birth outcome. * Your inner experience will affect how your body goes through this amazing transformation. * You need a plan to help you achieve your ultimate launch into parenthood I chose this career choice because I was so shocked by my first postpartum experience. I knew that this stage in life is so undervalued, underfunded, and under-supported by our current prenatal care system. To be a happy and healthy parent you need to plan for a holistic recovery. I’m here to help you achieve that, you will PLAN and THRIVE in your new role as parents or parents again. If you’re looking for a transformative, supported, and holistic recovery from pregnancy and birth you’ve found the right childbirth educator & 4th-trimester Doula. I look forward to meeting you, My website www.BirthingNourishedParents.com has all of my services and even downloadable meal guides so you can start feeding your baby with Evidence-Based meals that support optimal brain development TODAY. Check out my free resources page for essentials around what to stock your pantry with and ways to nourish your body throughout pregnancy and the 4th-trimester.

I took my birthing classes with Teri-Ann, she was more then accommodating to answer and help me with any further questions I had. She provided helpful worksheets and information even after the class was done. I love how Teri-Ann provides information about birth and labour through a medical and spiritual perspective. You get the best of both with her classes! She is passionate about what she does and also has teas to help with preparing for birth and after birth! I also enjoyed the fun partner exercises we did to prepare for birth. :)

I walk this path as a full-spectrum doula serving Skagit, Island, and Whatcom counties, supporting families through every phase of their journey with compassion, truth, and a deep reverence for the lineage of birthworkers who came before us. My work weaves modern care with ancestral knowing, honoring the understanding that my ancestors have always been the original doulas and community nurturers. Through Blakk Box Doula Services LLC, I offer birth, postpartum, and emotional support rooted in balance, grounding, and connection. My services include Reiki-infused massage, blessingways, placenta encapsulation resources, herbal teas and bath salts, yoni steaming, cleansing baths for trauma release, and intentional postpartum care that uplifts the body, spirit, and home. My calling is to create safe, loving spaces where birthing people feel seen, supported, informed, and empowered. Whether walking with you through pregnancy, birth, the tender postpartum window, my goal is to help you feel held—never rushed, never alone. If you’re seeking support that is holistic, heart-centered, and rooted in truth, I would be honored to walk this sacred path with you.

De’Angela is truly a gift. From the very beginning, she made me feel seen, supported, and cared for in a way that went far beyond the basics. She brings this calm, grounding energy that makes even the overwhelming moments feel manageable. She listens deeply, shows up consistently, and advocates with so much heart. What I love most is how genuine she is — she doesn’t just “do the job,” she connects. She encouraged me, reminded me of my own strength, and made sure I never felt alone in my journey. Any family would be lucky to have her by their side. I cannot recommend De’Angela enough. She’s compassionate, knowledgeable, dependable, and an absolute powerhouse of support.

Hi, I’m Nicole! (she/her) I live in New Westminster with my rambunctious toddler, and my husband. We love exploring the outdoors and attending toddler playgroups together. I also love listening to podcasts and dancing in Zumba classes. I have completed both Holistic Birth Doula & Postpartum Doula training through MotherWit Doula Care, as well as the Step 2 Education Breastfeeding Essentials course. I’m so excited to also be a Prenatal Educator with Birth By Bloom/ Dancing Star Birth and teach expecting families at Pomegranate Midwives in East Vancouver. I am certified in CPR-C (trained in CPR for babies, children and adults) for your peace of mind. I have completed a mentorship from Morag Hastings of Apple Blossom Families and Dancing Star Birth. I strive to inform my clients, so you feel confident making educated, evidence-based choices to determine your value system for your birthing experience. I will honour and support those values, encouraging you to root into your instincts and trust your body throughout this physiologic process. I create space to acknowledge the transformation into parenthood and support your family so you feel grounded throughout this time of transition. At your birth, I tune into you and your support people to anticipate your needs, and take care of small details in maintaining the environment, to promote a more nurturing space for you all. I also offer postpartum support to help your family adjust during the postpartum period.

Aeran Jung

Hi, I’m Aeran, a birth and postpartum doula who speaks both English and Korean. As a mother of five, I bring not only my training and experience but also the deep empathy and understanding that comes from living through the joys and challenges of parenthood myself. I am passionate about supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum days, offering care that is both practical and heartfelt. I walk alongside parents with a calm, faith-centered approach, believing that every birth is a sacred and God-given moment. I aim to meet each family where they are, listening closely to your needs and helping you find what truly works for you. Every birth is unique, and I believe it deserves to be met with respect, compassion, and a sense of peace. Being present during a birth is one of life’s most beautiful and meaningful experiences, and I feel deeply honoured to support families during this life-changing time.

In 2016, when I gave birth to my first child, I want to share with you all how much help my dear friend Aeran was to me. At the time, I was living in the Surrey area and going through my pregnancy and birth journey with a midwife. Through my midwife, I learned about doula services and had already signed up for one. On the day I went into labor, mild contractions turned into active labor, and I immediately informed both my doula and my closest friend, Aeran—who had already experienced childbirth herself several times. (At that time, she was not a doula yet, but a very experienced birth “senior.”) When my contractions became less than 10 minutes apart, we headed to the hospital, and that was when the indescribable pain truly began. Even after arriving at the hospital, after a total of 17 hours of labor, I was finally able to hold my baby through a natural birth. (Halfway through, the pain became unbearable, and I did receive an epidural.) To be honest, the pain was so intense that my memories from that time are not very clear. Yet, the moments that remain vividly with me are almost all memories of Aeran caring for me so attentively. My husband and the doula were also by my side and did their best to support me, but throughout those long hours, Aeran stayed awake the entire night without sleeping even once (while my husband and the doula did manage to rest briefly). She constantly reassured me emotionally, telling me I was doing well, helped calm me down, massaged me wherever I needed, and took care of everything I required. And when my baby was finally born after that long and exhausting labor, the person who cried with joy—almost more than I did—was Aeran. (Sorry to my husband and the doula at the time, but I honestly don’t remember much about them;;;) As an immigrant, I gave birth without my own mother being able to come to Canada yet to help me. In that moment, Aeran played a role far greater than that of a mother. In fact, I don’t believe anyone else could have cared for me so devotedly throughout the entire night without any rest. So when I later heard that Aeran had decided to formally study and pursue the path of becoming a doula, I was truly overjoyed and cheered for her, knowing it was such a wonderful decision. I am deeply confident that her natural character, the way she treats people, and her strong sense of calling and passion for her work will shine beautifully in her role as a doula. Anyone who has experienced her doula services—whether as a mother or as a family member—will know that there is not a single exaggeration in what I have written here. I sincerely hope that this story helps someone who is reading this as they make their own choice.
