Hi! I'm Maria Silver Pyanov and I’m a birth doula, postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and parent educator since 2007. What does that mean? It means my job is to help you have your best birth experience and feel confident during early parenting. I specialize in prenatal education, personal and privately tailored parent education during and after pregnancy, and in-home postpartum support. I provide practical and emotional support and education from conception through early parenthood. Looking for a childbirth class? I provide group and private classes. Looking for continuous labor support? We're there every step of the way. Need in-home help after you baby arrives? My team and I are the Mary Poppins for new parents, working our magic to make sure YOU feel supported and cared for. Beyond exhausted? And as a mom of six living kids who have been birthed at home, in a birth center, a hospital, and via c-section, I have the personal experience behind all of my professional education and training to really prepare and support families.

I wanted to take some time for you to get to know me, the CEO and Founder of Reverence Birth. I was born and raised here in New Jersey by my wonderful Colombian parents. I was fortunate that my parents taught me Spanish and raised me with many different Colombian traditions. I also enjoy spending time with my loved ones, as well as my two beautiful cats, Cheese and Bloom. However, growing up, I was not only an only child but also battled many lifelong chronic conditions. Let’s just say, as a Latina woman, I understand how it feels when receiving care at a medical center can be daunting. This is why I embarked on the path of helping many vulnerable populations from different communities. I am well-acquainted with, and have experienced, the health disparities, inequities, and inequalities that many of you may have faced and felt. My passion for menstrual health began over a decade ago during my senior year of nursing school. I pushed my body to its limits with early mornings, long days, and too much coffee, until symptoms like deep cystic acne and debilitating cramps forced me to listen. I sought out a practitioner who helped me understand my body and its messages, empowering me to heal myself. I went on to study plant medicine, the nervous system, and energy work, earning a master’s in clinical herbalism. In 2021, I moved to a cottage, creating medicinal gardens and deepening my connection with the natural world. The garden taught me how the body mirrors the larger cycles of life, and I now work intuitively with plants, creating teas for the women I support. That same year, I started a relationship that further refined my understanding of emotions and cyclical health.
