Ithaca, New York
I help families empower themselves with confidence during pregnancy, childbirth, the first weeks with baby, and beyond. I do this through evidence-based workshops and compassionate support.
Walton, New York
My role as a birth supporter is to ask, "what do you need right now?" to ensure that your needs are met while laboring. We do an in depth pre-consultation so I am aware of your prior experience (positive, negative, and neutral) with pregnancy, birth, the medical system, anxiety, relaxation, and anyone else who will be there with you, so I have a full picture of how to support you. I love that I have the opportunity to give support to someone who is about to spend years supporting this new human life, and that my presence can help kickstart that from a place of positive empowerment in choice. I feel I work best in a hospital setting, where consistent staff support may not always be possible, so that I can be that consistency and the one who is always about the person who is laboring.
You could not ask for a better birth doula than Rachel! Not only is she incredibly compassionate and encouraging of your ability to birth your baby, but she is also knowledgeable about active labor positions and will support you and your partner in feeling at ease throughout the process. Her skills as a massage therapist are incredibly supportive and help calm the body while her genuine ability to be present with you helps you to feel seen and loved. I would give Rachel 100 stars if available!

I was at the ob office when i stumbled upon Emma, she had asked me if i was ok. I was in fact not ok I just found out I was a very high risk pregnancy, she mentioned to me that she was a Birth Doula. I honestly had no idea what that was, she gave me her information I told her I would pray on it. One day out of the blue I started to get really bad cramps and bleeding I immediately called her she calmed me down and told me to go to the labor and delivery I was 23 weeks she came and sat with me for hours till I was discharged. She has been absolutely amazing through this rough beautiful journey she didn’t judge me when I would as kinda stupid questions like “is my a**hole going to fall out” and very intimate questions. I would definitely recommend Emma to everyone who I see pregnant bc she’s awesome she listens, fights, and educates you. Thank you Emma for absolutely everything you have done for me and now helping me through my second baby!

Hi there, my name is Tammy Swetter and I am a Certified Postpartum Doula, CPST & a nurse. My approach is rooted in genuine care & support. I believe that every family deserves to feel supported, nurtured, and confident during their postpartum experience. My goal is to provide realistic, hands-on help that meets the unique needs of each family, whether that’s guiding you through infant care, creating space for you to take a long, rejuvenating shower or get some much needed restorative sleep, or simply listening to your concerns without judgment. With my background, I understand the emotional & physical shifts that come with bringing a new baby home, and I aim to create an environment where you feel comfortable expressing your needs and receiving the support you deserve. My philosophy centers around empowering parents to trust their instincts while equipping them with practical tools and resources. I see myself not just as an extra set of hands, but as a steady source of reassurance & encouragement as you navigate these early weeks. From personalized guidance to help you feel more confident in your new role, to creating moments of rest & recovery, I’m here to support your entire family in adjusting & thriving…not just surviving. You deserve a better postpartum experience!
Tammy is the best member you could ever add to your postpartum team. She’s worth every single penny. We first met online, due to her strong supportive presence on local Facebook community groups. She’s a connector and positive networker. I was new to the area in my 3rd trimester and she made a huge impression on me. I requested a free consultation over the phone due to a wonderful job presenting itself at 4 weeks postpartum. I wanted to see what she thought. She’s a veteran mother herself for over a decade now and her experience and advice helped me not worry should I choose to take the job. We then discussed her coming on as a team member… while I was away for said job! Her sensitive and confident approach of helping my newborn daughter, my toddler daughter, my husband, and my sister (who came in to help), made myself feel more confident to leave for the dream job. Even weeks leading up to baby girl’s arrival, we strategized breastmilk calculations and anticipated all outcomes of birth with positive affirmations. And when the time came for me to go away for 8 days, I never worried for a second. My newborn and my entire family were in wonderful hands. I even came home to a neater, cleaner home! Hire Tammy. She’s now a forever friend, too.

Hello, my name is Allison Smigiel I am a registered nurse and lactation consultant. My nursing practice started because I wanted to find another way to support parents as they go through the transformational process of pregnancy and parenthood. I believe in empowering women and families by providing evidence-based information, partnership, and support to help them achieve their goals. My love for Obstetrics started after I saw my first birth in nursing school; I have spent the majority of my 16 years as a nurse working in labor & maternity units, and as a lactation consultant.
Allison was such a blessing for my first pregnancy! She coached me through what to expect with labor/delivery. She shared with me her extensive knowledge which empowered me to advocate with confidence for myself during the process. I felt like I had a voice which was respectfully received by the nurses at the hospital. After delivery, Allison was an amazing resource for breast feeding. Ladies, it’s not easy!!! But with Allison’s encouragement, I did it! She had so many tips and tricks for my little one’s terrible latch, lip tie, and seemingly nonstop cluster feedings. She also helped coach me through transitioning to pumping and breast feeding when I went back to work. I can’t say enough good things about Allison! You won’t be disappointed!

She is the founder of Pharm to Wellness LLC and brand Happy Nourished Motherhood. Katie helps women over 30 to nourish their mind & body for optimal fertility health so they can confidently conceive with ease. Katie comes with 9 years of experience as a retail pharmacist, this background in conventional medicine is what first piqued her awareness that people need more intimate coaching towards health and vitality without depending on pharmaceuticals. After experiencing a lack of support and education through her fertility and pregnancy journey, she became determined to advocate for women's health. Katie is passionate about supporting and empowering women on their fertility and pregnancy transition into motherhood using her calm, gentle guidance and taking a holistic approach focusing on nutrition, lifestyle, and self-care.
My experience with Katie was really good. My husband and I had been trying to conceive for about a year before finding out about her. She provided us with many suggestions and upon learning of our individual needs, she provided corresponding direction and applications. Through her we discovered some deeper underlying issues that needed our attention, and she provided support and facilitated answers to help us on our journey addressing those. While we are still hopeful, we now better understand what we need to address, how to do that and why. We know what we are up against. Thank you, Katie!

Geeta is amazing and we loved having her as a post-partum doula. She was incredibly helpful, kind, and soothing during the daytime sessions and was an absolute life saver during the night sessions. She was amazing with our daughter (and our pets!), and really put us at ease when she was around. We felt so comfortable with her and knew our daughter was in good hands; we would absolutely recommend her to anyone considering a post-partum doula.
