A first generation Haitian American who has been working with birthing families since 2019.She is a full spectrum doula and became a Certified Lactation Counselor in 2022. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Africana Latino Studies with a concentration In gender studies from SUNY Oneonta and a M.A. degree from the University at Binghamton, Vestal New York where she studied Sociology and DEI. The specialization to do birth work was a natural trajectory because she understands and is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that is sensitive to the cultural and social context. After having much difficulty breastfeeding her first born, and being a two time Hyperemesis Gravidarum survivor;supporting birthing people through their reproductive years was an absolute must. In particular she specializes in working with systematically marginalized individuals and the immigrant population. Stephanie is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that is sensitive to the cultural and social contexts. Stephanie is a member of the Rockland Breastfeeding Coalition. She is a full scholarship recipient of Black Maternal health Doula scholarship. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, listening to democracy now ,cooking, meeting new people, and unschooling herself and her two children. All Breastfed and birthed at home

After struggling with severe pain during breastfeeding and hearing that discomfort was normal and to keep pushing through, I was beyond grateful when Stephanie came to my rescue. First off, Stephanie knows her stuff! She is so knowledge and passionate about sharing all she can to help with lactation. Stephanie was able to tweak my techniques, give me pointers, and boom, no more pain! With no judgement, and a kind attitude, Stephanie made it easy for me to relax and trust the process. Breastfeeding is NOT suppose to hurt! Who knew! If you're having any sort of issues with feeding or lactation, call Stephanie! Your welcome!

Amanda Moshman

3 years of experience

Hi! My name is Amanda Moshman and I am a certified Postpartum Doula on Long Island, NY. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and have worked with babies, and children of all ages. I was a preschool teacher before I had my son. I am outgoing and always helping others. This is what I strive to achieve when I become your postpartum doula. I want you to feel comfortable, safe and understood when you are under my care. Since having my son last year, I can totally relate to everything there is to know about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and transitioning into becoming new parents. I will use my knowledge and expertise to help guide you and your family through this new journey. I like to be organized, have a schedule, plan or even just one goal for the day. We would get it done before we start something new! Trust me, it will keep your mind at ease. You will have someone to look up to for questions/ concerns and who will guide you during the transition of parenthood.

I don't know how I would have gotten through the trenches of postpartum without Amanda. After dealing with PPD after the birth of my first daughter and falling pregnancy shortly after with my second daughter, Amanda helped me find myself again after being in a very dark place. I can't recommend her enough. Amanda helped me find balance in my life again after having 2 under 2 and helped me finally enjoy motherhood. Amanda is wonderful with babies and children and is a pleasure to be around. My girls absolutely love her and I cannot recommend her and only sunshine postpartum doula services enough.

Cathleen Benjamin

7 years of experience

Greetings, my name is Cathleen. Born and raised in Rockland County NY. My background has been weaved in women's wellness focusing on mind-body-spirit connectedness. My style of work is intuitive & spirit-led fusing evidence based information and ancestral wisdom. I'm a full spectrum doula, breech without borders trainee, Postpartum Healing Specialist weaving ancient & indigenous healing modalities. I have a more holistic approach such as breath work, the use of essential oils, physical touch, and change of laboring positions. I support hospital and home births. I work with you to help you have the empowered birthing experience that you desire and deserve. Although, I didn't listen to the call to this path until 2020 to become certified doula, my first birth that I supported and postpartum care was provided in 2006.

Recent review

Cathleen was an extremely caring doula. I am so grateful for having had her as my doula as she was always caring for me and guiding me to balance my body, mind, and soul while preparing to welcome my child to this world. She incorporated sound body movement with soul care, which I am sure influenced my homebirth experience. My labor lasted 12 hours (start to finish), and she was the only one there at the time of the birth because my baby came so speedily that the rest of the team did not arrive in time. I’m sure my baby chose her to be there because of her grounding presence and her positive vibrations. Will definitely choose her next time, and the next, and the next.
