I have had 2 c-sections, I was referred to Desiree by another doula who was not available for my EDD 7/1/2026 .From the start Miss Desiree was very responsive, THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE 9 months Desiree would send weekly text to just check on me, but not only did she check on me but my husband and 2 other kids. You can really tell that Desiree is passionate and sincere and loves what she does. She assisted me with a successful VBAC. Her knowledge was greatly appreciated, her guidance and patience was everything we wished for. I would recommend her, you will not be disappointed.

I absolutely loved Mrs. Sabrina . She was very sweet, always available , helpful with resources and physical needs . This was my third pregnancy and I’ve never had a Doula . I heard great things about getting one so I did and as soon as I met Mrs.Sabrina It was a perfect match. I had to be induced for the first time and she helped me with a lot of exercises to get me dilated . I was blessed to not have to do the balloon because of these exercises and getting my body right . I was induced around 12 and had my babygirl by 5 am , thanks to our Doula . Of course the company and help of her coming afterwards also has been a plus . From our very first visit, I knew I was in the best hands. Throughout my entire pregnancy, she was such a steady, comforting presence. Her energy is warm, calming, and genuine, it felt so easy to connect with her right away. During my pregnancy, there were multiple times when I felt pressure from my doctors to move toward a cesarean for multiple reasons. In those moments, she reminded me of my strength and what my body was created to do. She never dismissed my concerns, but instead grounded me, educated me, and helped me feel confident in advocating for the birth I wanted. I hired amy in 2025 for my first pregnancy PRICING: Amy had great pricing that was a little bit lower than most doulas you would find in KC proper. She was incredibly helpful in submitting paperwork so my work would reimburse me(trust me it was a lot of hoops to jump through and she did them with a smile) CLASSES: I’ll start by saying I was definitely someone who listened to a birth story or hypno birth video nearly every day on my drive into work. I think her classes offered great advice but much of the material if you were like me and constantly listen and read things could be learned online. I will say while I did feel like most of it was refreshers and was good to talk through different coping strategies, birth preferences, positions (this I felt was something I didn’t know much about and she had many print outs for), and ways to advocate for yourself. The longer version of will be at the end but I had to have a very quick delivery due to complications and my husband was able to really speak up and buy me some time using the strategies that Amy had made sure to really emphasize. I do think Amy had a lot to do with him telling the Drs. I need a few private minutes and asking for a different nurse to help me make my decision. ON CALL SUPPORT: Amy was so sweet and there was one time I had a rough appointment and was feeling beat down. She invited me to her house to chat and walk through my emotions. She was always there for a phone call or to help me find resources when I had questions L&D: I had an induction. We had built a plan with Amy for when I was further along and in need of support then she would come to the hospital. Unfortunately I had to have an urgent c section about 1 hour into my day. With that said I don’t have a lot of input on L&D with her as she was not the one we were frantically calling/ texting as I was going to the OR. She did show up after and offered to bring us food or any kind of comfort measures. She also offered to swing by to allow my husband some time out of the hospital (my folks were there so we didn’t take her up on this). I know Amy would’ve been there had we texted her because she was checking in frequently throughout the night when I was getting my cervix softened and rough when they started the pitocin POST PART: Amy was great about checking in and making sure I was supported. I was not super mobile and also had sooooo many people stopping by, she allowed me time that I much needed before my post partum visit. From the outside looking in - I could see this visit as even more helpful if you did not have a lot of people around the area. Overall Amy was great, you can tell she loves what she does and care deeply about her clients. I really leaned on some of the earlier teaching and strategies she gave me when I was told that my day was going to end differently than I expected.

Adrian was an incredible support throughout my pregnancy and at my birth. She was attentive, and taught me so much about my prenatal health, the birth process, nutrition, and more. She checked in frequently, and followed up with my health. I was a gestational diabetic, and had never dealt with that before. She was very knowledgeable and reassuring. When I went into labor, we walked, we danced, we laughed, and we prayed. She respected my birth plan. And it was beautiful, unmedicated birth! Having Adrian by my side was a bright, loving and necessary part of a whole beautiful birth experience! My experience with Bridgette was fantastic. My main reason for using a doula was I wanted someone in the birth room to be a fierce advocate while I was medicated and in pain and unable to advocate for myself. She was that and so much more. I had to push for 4 hours to get my little one out after already being in labor for 18 hours. The doctor said I was close to needing the vacuum to get her out and I credit Bridgette's knowledge, encouragement of frequent position changes while pushing and encouragement to keep hydrated and nourished with clear liquids to why I was able to get my little one out without the vacuum. Another thing that was a great help was giving my overwhelmed partner guidance on the best ways of helping me and keeping him calm and involved in a stressful situation. In addition to that she got the BEST pictures of the delivery while respecting the fact I didn't want any from the angle you could see my more intimate areas. I'll cherish those pictures forever. My birth was a beautiful wonderful experience. I have to credit part of it to luck but the majority of it to Bridgette.

I can’t say enough good things about Jamie! From our labor prep meetings to staying by my side through a 36-hour labor, she truly went above and beyond. When my husband had to go to the NICU with our baby, she stayed with me and supported me through those moments, and by the end of the experience she truly felt like part of our family. Even though my labor was long and hard, it was also incredibly magical and non-traumatic. I honestly believe that without her support I would have ended up with a C-section. She kept me moving and encouraged me even after I had an epidural, which made such a difference in my experience. I especially appreciated how she supported my desire for a natural birth while also fully embracing modern medicine when it was needed. That balance meant so much to me. Tunisha became my doula when I was 7 months pregnant. Throughout my journey, we had zoom meetings and communicated daily. Christine was my doula for my last two babies and was such a help to my husband and me. She was always available if I had questions leading up to the birth. During the actual labors, she had a way of knowing what I needed when I couldn’t really describe what I needed 😂. She also has good relationships with the nurses and hospital staff so my husband and I felt supported throughout. She also checked up on me several times post-partum to see/hold baby and also to see about my physical and mental health. She helped fill in gaps from moments we couldn't fully remember, process our experience, and find closure. Having that opportunity allowed us to move into the postpartum chapter with greater confidence and peace. What continues to amaze me is that Jorie's support didn't end there. She has stayed in touch throughout the years, checking in on us and our little boy, who is now turning two. She has become part of our family's story, and we love her dearly. If you're on the fence about hiring a doula, I encourage you to meet Jorie for a cup of coffee and learn more about what she offers.
