It is natural for that strength to be clouded by uncertainty. After falling in love with my birthing experience, I wanted to help support other expectant mothers in having the birth experience of their dreams. During the pandemic I was becoming a first time mom and had no idea what to expect so I researched and found an amazing doula. My doula helped me gain the knowledge and resources needed to plan and have an unmedicated vaginal birth at a birthing center. After this, I became certified as a Doula through Best Doula. Giving birth helped me to realize that having a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies as well as 10+ years experience working with children and families did not fully prepare me for the preparation needed to give birth.
