Oksana Ellenbrook

24 years of experience

Hello! My name is Oksana Ellenbrook, and I bring 23 years of experience as an OB-GYN to my role as a doula. With a passion for birth and a deep understanding of both the medical and emotional aspects of labor, I am committed to empowering women and helping them feel confident and supported during one of the most significant moments of their lives. I speak both English and Russian, allowing me to connect with families from diverse backgrounds. My approach is centered around collaboration – I believe that a strong partnership between the woman and her doula can create a positive and empowering birth experience. Whether you’re navigating a hospital birth or a more personalized setting, my goal is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and supported every step of the way. Together, we can work towards a joyful and successful birth that honors your unique journey. I look forward to being a part of your birth story!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Oksana. From the moment we met, I felt instantly at ease with her calm presence and deep knowledge. As a former OB-GYN, she brought a level of reassurance that I didn’t even know I needed—but more than anything, she was kind, intuitive, and completely focused on supporting me. During labor, Oksana was by my side the entire time—offering gentle encouragement, helping me breathe through each contraction, and using massage and position changes that truly made a difference. She worked seamlessly with the hospital staff and made sure I felt heard and respected at every stage. Thanks to her, I felt empowered and strong during my birth. I will always be grateful for her care, and I can’t imagine going through it without her. If you’re looking for someone experienced, nurturing, and dedicated to women’s well-being, Oksana is the doula for you

I would like to leave the warmest and most sincere review for my doula, Dana. My labor was very long and difficult — it lasted almost two days, and there were moments when I felt like I had no strength left. But thanks to Dana, I was able to go through everything calmly and without panic. From the very beginning, she surrounded me with genuine care. She didn’t just do her job — she was there like a close family member. I felt so safe, as if my mom was right next to me. She constantly checked on how I was feeling, helped me change positions, reminded me to drink water and breathe, and held my hand when I felt scared. I especially want to mention her massages. During contractions, she massaged my back, lower back, and legs, and it really helped relieve the pain. After her massages, the pain became much more manageable, and I could relax and regain my strength. It was an incredible support during such intense hours. But the most valuable thing was her emotional support. When I was crying, exhausted, or doubting myself, she told me I was strong, that my body knew what to do, and that I would get through it. She helped me believe in myself. In the hardest moments, she stayed calm and confident, and that gave me so much strength. She also helped me communicate with the medical staff, explained what was happening, and supported me in making decisions so I felt in control of the situation. Thanks to her, I never felt alone in the delivery room. Even after the birth, Dana continues to stay in touch, checking on me, caring about my well-being, and offering support. She helped me establish breastfeeding and is still helping me through challenges with nursing. I truly feel that she cares from her heart, not just as a professional but as a person. I am endlessly grateful to Dana for her professionalism, kindness, warmth, and love for what she does. I truly recommend her to all future moms. A doula is not just a helper — she becomes part of your birth journey and supports you like family. If I ever have to go through labor again, I would choose Dana without hesitation.

I believe birth is not just a medical event — it’s a deeply personal, transformative experience, and the way you are supported matters. As a birth doula, my role is to provide steady, evidence-based support while centering you: your preferences, your intuition, and your sense of safety. I support families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period with calm presence, clear information, and compassionate advocacy. Whether your birth unfolds exactly as planned or takes unexpected turns, you deserve to feel informed, respected, and supported every step of the way. I work with all birth settings and outcomes — hospital births, unmedicated or medicated labors, planned or unplanned cesareans — and I meet each family where they are, without judgment. My approach is grounded in current evidence, emotional attunement, and the understanding that there is no “right” way to give birth — only what is right for you. Clients often tell me they feel more confident, less overwhelmed, and better prepared after working together. I aim to be a steady presence you can lean on — someone who helps you understand your options, supports your partner, and creates space for you to stay connected to your body and your baby. If you’re looking for a doula who is calm, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in your experience — I would be honored to support you.

From the moment I decided to choose Olena, I have never regretted it. From the very beginning, Olena was incredibly attentive and supportive. Her two prenatal visits were incredibly helpful. She clearly explained what to expect during labor and helped me prepare for the upcoming challenges both mentally and physically. She demonstrated valuable pelvic floor exercises that gave me confidence and preparedness for my future labor. Throughout my entire labor, she was very responsive to my needs and ensured that my wishes and comfort were a priority. She worked closely and communicated effectively with the nurses and midwife, and her support was especially crucial when the question of a C-section arose. She confidently advocated for my preferences and helped my voice be heard. When the decision was finally made for a C-section, her support never wavered. Both my husband and I felt reassured by her steady presence in the operating room. One of the most meaningful moments for me came right after the birth of my son, when my husband needed to be with him and all the doctors were busy. I cannot forget the comfort of her hands on my face while I was getting stitches. It was exactly what I needed to feel safe and cared for. After the labor, she continued to provide me with comprehensive support. She taught me how to sit and breastfeed correctly, guided me through every step, and frequently checked in to make sure I was doing well. I truly valued her knowledge and genuine care, and she went above and beyond, sharing an incredibly helpful list of tips for newborn care, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding. Having Olena as our doula has been incredibly beneficial for both me and my husband. Her experience and unwavering support truly helped us through every step of this life-changing moment, and if my husband and I decide to have a second child, I know who I will choose as my doula.
