I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about Alyssa. From the very beginning, she made me feel prepared, heard, and completely supported. She helped me create my birth plan, went over every detail with me beforehand, and truly took the time to understand the birth I wanted. She stayed on call with me while I labored at home, kept up with my contractions, and came straight to the hospital the moment I called her. She was there through every part of my labor. She helped me with different positions, including the rebozo sifting technique, which was one of my favorites and brought me so much relief. She even brought the rebozo herself, along with a comb to help redirect the pain, snacks, drinks, and headphones in case I needed them. What meant so much to me was how intentional she was about creating a calm, safe space for me to give birth. She dimmed the lights, kept the room peaceful and quiet, and made sure the environment felt exactly how I wanted it to. She also made sure my husband felt included and supported throughout the entire experience, which meant so much to both of us. When I was exhausted and overwhelmed, Alyssa became my voice. She helped me understand what the doctors were asking, advocated for me, and made sure my wishes were respected when I didn’t have the energy to speak for myself. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, don’t think I could have had the dream birth I wanted without her. She gave me comfort, strength, reassurance, and so much love during one of the most intense and beautiful moments of my life. At this point, I swear Alyssa basically delivered my baby herself 😂❤️. I am forever grateful for her and everything she did for me. If you’re considering a doula, I cannot recommend Alyssa enough. She is truly incredible at what she does, and I feel so lucky that she was part of such a special moment in my life. 🤍

I genuinely cannot begin to say how thankful I am for Alexis and how she walked with us through our journey to parenthood. We had two prenatal meetings where she met with my husband and I to talk through our birth wishes and just get to know us as people. She focused on getting to know the "why" behind our birth wishes and not just the "what." Her background in counseling was such a perfect fit with her doula services as she helped us walk through the crazy emotions that surround birth and becoming a parent. We talked through how I would feel emotionally if my birth didn't go "according to plan;" we talked about how our marriage was doing in the midst of the pregnancy. Her birth class was super helpful in it made us informed and prepared about what would and could happen during birth. She did check ins after every OB appointment to see how things were going and see how I was feeling every step of the way. When my water broke, she checked in every few hours to keep up with my early labor and give us tips for the early contractions and then met us at the hospital when I was in active labor. I had all back labor, and she and my husband took turns giving me counter pressure on my back for hours. She helped guide me on when to switch positions and try new tactics. She was even there to help with little things like moving our car because it was still parked out front. After our son was born, Alexis stayed with us a few more hours until we were fully settled in our recovery room. She did a follow up meeting with us about a week after delivery and just sat with us and helped me process my birth experience which thankfully was everything that I wanted, but it's still a lot to process. Alexis set up a meal train for us and even brought a meal herself. She texted and checked in with how I was healing, how I was doing emotionally, and just how I was adjusting to motherhood every few days after birth and then weekly for the first two months postpartum. My husband and I genuinely felt like we weren't in this alone, that we had a guide walking through it with us. It was so nice that my husband could support me emotionally and didn't have to worry about having all of the knowledge to specifically support me during labor - he could focus on being my husband and not my coach. We just felt so supported and encouraged the entire journey. She constantly went above and beyond what a typical doula would do. I cannot rave about Alexis enough, and our plan is to have her present for all future childbirths.

As a first-time dad, I thought my main job during labor was to not pass out. Turns out, with Savannah by our side, I got to be an actual support system instead of just a nervous wreck holding a granola bar. From the first meeting, Savannah made both of us feel completely at ease. She answered every question, even my ridiculous ones like, “is there a wrong way to hold a leg during pushing?”. She helped us create a birth plan, and more importantly, she made sure we felt confident when things didn’t go exactly according to that plan. When labor started on a Tuesday at 2 AM, she was the first to text back ,faster than my mom, which is saying something. Lol. By Wednesday afternoon, after countless counter-pressure techniques, words of encouragement, and somehow keeping my wife calm through contractions that could bend steel, she was still going strong. I, on the other hand, was running on fumes and hospital vending machine coffee. She even reminded me to eat so I didn’t become the patient instead of the support partner. Then came the magic moment. As my wife was delivering our little one on Wednesday night, Savannah coached me through every step. She knew exactly what we needed even when we didn’t but she always asked before stepping in to make us feel comfortable. This whole experience was a blessing. Me and my husband just had our 3rd baby, and decided it would be helpful to have a postpartum doula join us during my postpartum recovery period. Let's face it, we were officially out numbered and breastfeeding a little we had our hands full and could use a little help. Brittany was a beautiful match for our home. She has an amazingly warm energy about her and so knowledgeable in herbalism. She jumped right in to help where we needed her to, from helping with the kids, laundry, and dishes. I got connected with Kay through a friend of mine that is also a doula. I had to go back to work a lot earlier since I am a single mother so needed nanny services. Birth photography is unlike any other form of photography and Sarah is unlike any other photographer! She was present, but not invasive, supportive but not overbearing, and everything we didn’t know we needed. Having her there allowed my husband to be just as present in the moment with me and now these pictures will be special to both of us, because he didn’t have to be the faceless man on the other side of the camera! What would I have done without Natalie? I don’t want to know! I was growing increasingly anxious throughout my pregnancy, as I was going for a VBA2C, and I frankly feared pushback from OB’s, and/or my birth not going how I was hoping by potentially being fearmongered into unnecessary interventions. So, I decided to hire a doula, for the first time ever, and as soon as I did, I instantly felt relief, knowing I had someone experienced on my side to guide, support, encourage, provide factual information, and help advocate for me as needed. Natalie was recommended to me by another doula in the area, and as I had previously seen her presence in various local mom groups, I was happy to go with her. From our very first messages and FaceTime meeting, I was happy with my choice as I instantly felt comfortable with her. The fact that she has many children and has experienced different birth scenarios herself, made me feel even more secure in my choice. All throughout the remainder of my pregnancy, she was always there whenever I had questions or doubts, always giving such great information, providing evidence for both sides, as well as sharing her own experiences. She would even send things that she came across on her own time, thinking it would be beneficial for me, and it always was! When my pregnancy came to a hard decision at the end, (things that were out of our control), Natalie accompanied me to an OB visit, and I’m so grateful that she did. She kept me calm and grounded, reminded me of all of the facts and risks, and she was so helpful in asking questions that I wasn’t able to muster up in the moment! That was huge for me. Overall, I have no doubts or regrets about how my birth went, and I credit that largely to Natalie. If I didn’t have her support and advocacy, I might be questioning if I really made the right choice(s) in the end, and then would likely be feeling unsettled. But I am happy and feel complete peace of mind, and that is so important! It felt like I had an experienced big sister throughout the whole process, looking out for me, and that’s exactly what I wanted and needed. She is precisely the kind of person needed for such important and I’d even say sacred work; considerate, warm, informed, fair, experienced, etc, and she’s also so generous! Bonus points to her for being natural-minded and proficient in herbalism too! If I have another pregnancy, I am absolutely going with Natalie again!

I can't speak highly enough about Shaniqua. She is warm, extremely knowledgeable, and puts you at total ease. Shaniqua was both my L&D doula and postpartum doula for my first born. Soulex the Doula has been incredible in mine and my child’s life. I wanted to leave a shining review but struggled even capturing the positive impact of my time with Soulex the Doula, in words. I really hope I do justice to what this time meant to me. Alexus post-partum doula support was life altering in the most vulnerable time I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had 2 children and only worked with Lex with my first born. Let me just say, her energy was deeply missed the second time around. I live in a different state now but at the time, Lex did SO MUCH. She helped with nursing, even in the middle of the night for my exclusively breast fed baby, she would stay over to make sure I had the most restful night I could. The baby would wake, and Lex would wake pick her up and latch her to my nipple while I rest, leaving me virtually undisturbed. Lex changed night diapers, and would rock my daughter back to sleep while I slept. During the day visits, Lex would take care of baby while I got time for ME. I could shower, get ready, and feel beautiful in such a strange time. Lex gave me support with getting back in connection with my body through movement with dance and stretching practices. I would have NEVER known this was meaningful work, otherwise. Lex also gave a lot of spiritual guidance and support as a medium while I was personally going through the shifts from new motherhood. She would clean my home, help me organize, or rearrange on a whim. It was nothing short of magical, and genuinely felt like I had a little fairy god mother around the house doing things without me even having to think about it - let alone lift a finger. The bond I watched her grow with my daughter at 4 months old was incredibly special. And now, as a 7 year old, they still stay in touch. We love you, Lex and you really feel like a part of the family for life. Thank you for you’re love, your care, your intention, your intuition, and your raw passion for what you do. I cannot thank her enough for the incredible support she provided during my birth at Northside Hospital! Since I hired her quite late in my pregnancy around 37 or 38 weeks, we only had time for one long virtual prenatal visit, but she completely stepped up. Within just a few days, she supplied me with so many helpful handouts and information, including great resources for postpartum planning. I was really struggling to afford a doula since it isn't covered by my insurance, and the fact that she provided her care for free was a massive blessing.She was always personally available whenever I needed her by text or call. She answered all of my questions and was completely honest if there was something she didn't know, which I really appreciated. What I loved most was how comfortable I felt with her. We are close in age and knew each other previously, so there was absolutely zero judgment. She phrased medical things in a way that was so easy to understand.She was also incredibly thoughtful and culturally responsive; when I explained that I have trauma from past OBGYN experiences and felt uncomfortable with certain language, she immediately adjusted her wording to make me feel safe. We even hit a few hiccups with the medical staff during my time at the hospital, and she was right there by my side helping me through every single one of them. She is building a wonderful practice, and her dedication and honesty make her an absolutely great birthworker. She was perfect for me!

I had my first child with Brandi as my doula and I’m so glad I did. Brandi helped me navigate the hospital and birthing experience in a way that was supportive and unobtrusive. She knew the birth plan that we had designed prior together and helped me create as close to that as possible as things progressed. When I was uncomfortable she had many tools to assist from the big stuff ( walking the halls and pressure release and e-stim during contractions), to the little stuff (chapstick and eye mask!).
