Why I am seeking a doula:My previous births were extremely fast (precipitous), and my monitors never registered my contractions due to back labor and an anterior placenta. In my last birth, I was forced onto my back and told to resist my fetal ejection reflex, which resulted in a fractured wrist. My specific needs for this birth: Advocacy: I need someone to ensure I am not forced into a supine position and that my fetal ejection reflex is respected, not resisted.Physical Support: Assistance with hands-and-knees laboring and counter-pressure for intense back labor.
