Hi there. My name is Kennadi… I live in Muskegon, Michigan and after experiencing a wonderful home birth in 2020 I became so excited to have the opportunity to become a birth and postpartum doula. I believe every birthing family has the right to their autonomy and voice, and I remain a fierce advocate and support for the wishes of each and every family. We so often are in search of magic, without realizing we have it right inside of ourselves. For me, becoming a mother has proven that to be true. Birthing Ancestors was created from the idea that when you have a child you are not only birthing a future generation, but you are also birthing yourself as a parent - someone’s ancestor. It is my greatest honor to holistically support you throughout every stage of your childbearing journey, and help you to discover the magic that has always been inside of you. Since becoming a certified Full Spectrum Doula in 2021, I have fallen deeply in love with this work. I have expanded my knowledge to support clients from fertility/preconception planning thru postpartum, with special interests in herbal and nutritional support. I also have 200hr yoga teacher certification giving me knowledge in anatomy, stretching and strengthening muscles, relaxation techniques, and preparing the body for labor.

I am a DONA certified doula servicing South East Michigan and Toledo clients. Currently accepting Michigan and Ohio Medicaid, as well as other insurance options that work with doula coverage.

As your doula it’s my goal to make sure you have the skills, education and support to make informed decisions on how to birth YOUR way. On the personal side, I am a mom to three amazing children – Malone, Beau & Jocelyn (twins!), and wife to a sweet “Kentucky Boy”. My introduction to motherhood was challenging. I struggled with infertility, postpartum depression/anxiety and a difficult first birth. All these moments in my life set me on my path and passion for birth & postpartum support, and maternal mental health.

I believe God designed women’s bodies to know how to birth naturally, and I am passionate about helping women to have a healthy, positive, and empowering birth experience! I believe in helping women make informed choices for themselves and their babies so they can have the care they want, and helping husbands feel confident and comfortable assisting their wives during labor. I love to create a calming atmosphere and I have many comfort measures in my tool belt to help ease labor pain, progress labor, and help prevent unnecessary intervention!

The dream is to empower YOU to advocate for YOURSELF. No one knows your body like you do. No one knows your baby like you do. I do the work, the research so that you go into birth fully prepared to make the birth you crave, happen! I also so fully believe that everyone, and I mean everyone… deserves this. I am a CACHE-Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula, and New Parent Educator who has a passion for supporting newborns and their families for the first 12-16 weeks of life. I offer the families I work with unique expertise in newborn care, emotional and physical birth parent support, and parental education and family support. My job is to nurture and care for the newborn, the birth parent, and the entire family. As your Newborn Care Specialist, I’ll establish safe and comforting sleep practices, help you develop an easy-to-maintain daily and nightly schedule and routine, and create a system to track feedings, diaper changes, and sleep. I’ll also educate you on any aspects of newborn care you don’t feel confident in, especially for preemies, multiples, and/or medically fragile newborns.
