10 years of experience

Hi there! My name is Joslin Dupuis. I am a loved and loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Clinical Social Worker, and Full Spectrum Doula. I live with my husband, our two beautiful and silly children, two dogs, a cat, and an unknown and outrageous number of chickens, turkeys, and quail. I love to look at the moon, walk barefoot, forage for mushrooms, grow food, bake bread, and serve as an agent of change in the lives of individuals, families, groups, and communities. My path toward birth work is a woven tapestry of personal and professional experiences. I started my college career pursuing a degree in Atmospheric Science, thinking I wanted to be a Meteorologist. Through a lot of self-reflection, I realized that my true passion and deepest joy was found in helping others. For that reason, I shifted my academic pursuits and graduated with my master’s degree in Social Welfare in 2015. I immediately entered the medical field and found myself as an Obstetric and Perinatal Palliative Care Social Worker. I loved that job and realized that birth work is my heart work. I was able to help countless families through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. My shift from inpatient medical social work to birth doula has allowed me to be more present with my family and still use my clinical skills. I am calm, patient, mindful, flexible, and trauma-informed. I have a special interest in perinatal mental health and helping individuals find joy and healing through their life transitions. My philosophy as a doula and a social worker is “meeting people where they are.” I will meet you with unconditional and nonjudgmental support. My job is not to write your birth story. My job is to hold space and present you with evidence-based information so you can make an informed decision that works best for you, your body, and your baby. I will work as a part of your interdisciplinary team, assisting you through this beautiful journey that you are on. My goal is for you to reflect on your birth experience and feel satisfied and that you felt loved, held, and respected throughout our work together. Reach out anytime to schedule a free one-hour consultation. I would be honored to be a part of your story. Sub Specialties: As a Clinical Social Worker and Doula, I have extensive experience and training in serving those with increased risk of social or emotional challenges in pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting, including: Survivors of pregnancy and infant loss. Expectant parents who have a mental health diagnosis or who are at increased risk of perinatal mood disorders Those navigating a high-risk or medically complex pregnancy. Expectant parents who have experienced birth trauma or other types of negative birth experiences. Expectant parents with a history of trauma (childhood or adult), including physical or sexual abuse or assault survivors.
