I am also certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International. I specialize in perinatal mental health disorders and loss and grief during the perinatal period. My focus is on supporting birth givers and their families to mentally prepare for the addition of a new family member, as well as to support any mental health disorders that may arise postpartum. This includes anxiety, depression, OCD, panic and more. I also work with mothers and families during periods of grief and loss due to pregnancy loss of any kind and stillbirth. I was born & raised in New York, attended Fordham University at Rose Hill, Bronx NY and Ross University Medical School, where I completed my Pediatrics residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Bronx NY. Although I loved helping children and young adults of all ages, I always gravitated towards newborns. Breastfeeding moms and babies often don't get the care and attention they need to thrive. So after careful consideration, I realized I could have a positive impact on newborns as a Lactation Consultant. As an IBCLC, I am well equipped to provide newborns, moms & their families with comprehensive breastfeeding support services, while still working in medical field.
I'm a Mama Empowerment coach on a mission to call out all of the societal expectations put on Mothers, free Moms from the guilt and shame and rewrite this generation of Motherhood to be authentic, bold and inspiring.

HEY THERE TIRED MAMA, I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU’RE GOING THROUGH! Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Erin McCormick. After becoming a mommy of my handsome son, Quaid, I was just as uncertain as you probably are of how to get this little human to sleep through the night. I was exhausted from getting up at all hours of the night. To make matters worse, everyone kept telling me, “nap when the baby naps.” NAP? My baby wasn’t napping long enough for me to fall asleep. What were they talking about? After countless hours of research, reading MANY baby sleep books, and trial & error. We finally decided to work with a 1:1 sleep consultant to learn how to get the most out of the important everyday task of sleep. After learning healthy sleep habits, Quaid started sleeping through the night (11 to 12 hours uninterrupted) at five months old! He also started taking long naps during the day! I decided to become a certified pediatric sleep consultant so I could pay it forward and help other mamas do the same. Through teaching my child to sleep better, I not only gained a happy, energetic, fun, loving child, I also gained my husband back. We have “us” time again. I have the energy to do the things I love again. I have time to enjoy those things or just relax when my child takes a nap or is in bed at a reasonable time. You can do the same!

My love for Obstetrics started after I saw my first birth in nursing school; I have spent the majority of my 16 years as a nurse working in labor & maternity units, and as a lactation consultant.

I believe that all parents deserve to feel encouraged, respected, and empowered to make the best choices for their families. It was this passion for supporting families that led me to establish Binghamton Metro Doulas. Since 2015, I have provided the Binghamton community with education and support during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
