Hi, I’m Shterna, a birth doula serving Scranton, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. I’m also a mother of three, and my own experiences with birth are part of what led me to this work. I support women through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period with a calm, quiet presence. My goal is to support each woman in her flow, to meet her where she is and offer steady support as her experience unfolds in its own way. Birth is such a pivotal and sensitive time, and the transition into the early days afterward can feel just as tender. Every woman deserves to feel fully supported through it all emotionally, physically, and without judgment. My role is to hold space for that experience while offering reassurance, comfort measures, guidance, and continuous support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. I believe there is no one right way to give birth. Every experience is unique, and every woman’s needs are different. I’m there to support your experience to help you feel cared for, grounded, and supported through one of life’s most transformative seasons. As part of my care, I offer a prenatal visit to support you in preparing for birth. This time can be used to create or refine your birth plan, and I also offer a full body assessment through the Body Ready Method with personalized exercises to help prepare your body for labor and birth. I also offer a postpartum visit focused on rest, recovery, and support in the early days after birth. This may include meal support, caring for your baby or older children, or giving you time to shower and rest. My focus is on helping you feel cared for, grounded, and supported as you adjust to life with your baby. I accept both private pay and Geisinger Medicaid clients.

5 years of experience

Hi, I'm Erika! I'm a Pennsylvania State Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, CPR certified, and passionate about helping families feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. Since 2021, I've had the privilege of supporting more than 70 families through birth and postpartum, providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each family's unique needs. Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, epidural, induction, cesarean birth, or simply looking for someone to guide and encourage you along the way, my goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard, respected, and confident in your decisions. In addition to birth support, I provide overnight postpartum care, helping families adjust to life with a newborn by offering newborn care, breastfeeding support, emotional encouragement, education, and allowing parents the opportunity to rest and recover. My overnight shifts are designed to bring peace of mind during one of life's biggest transitions. My background also includes experience working in hospital settings, giving me a strong understanding of the healthcare system while allowing me to effectively collaborate with nurses, physicians, midwives, and other members of your care team. I believe birth is deeply personal, and every family deserves individualized support that honors their goals, values, and preferences. As your doula, I strive to be a calming presence, a trusted advocate, an educator, and a source of unwavering support, from pregnancy through the fourth trimester. It is truly an honor to walk alongside families during such a meaningful chapter of their lives, and I look forward to helping you feel confident, supported, and empowered every step of the way.
