We worked with Netta and Doula Dynasty for four months for overnights from the day we brought our second daughter home from the hospital. From that first night, Netta was incredible. I cannot recommend Doula Lacey more highly! I met Lacey around the 15 week mark of my pregnancy with my sweet little girl. We clicked and after speaking with my husband we decided to move forward with her. And thank goodness we did, because just 10 weeks later my water broke preterm and my girl made her entrance into the world at 25 weeks 5 days. Lacey was quick to respond throughout the week as I was experiencing symptoms of early rupture, when I was admitted to the hospital, and when I very quickly and surprisingly gave birth. She provided excellent support and insight on what the hospital process would entail for my husband and I who had planned to have our daughter in a birth center and were now working with providers we did not know in a space we wouldn’t have chosen. She was quick to travel & get to the hospital the week I was admitted as things changed every hour. And she has continued to provide incredible support for us both postpartum as we have begun our journey into NICU parenthood. Having a doula was something I always prioritized, and having such an unpredictable and scary birth experience made that even more clear. When I felt overwhelmed after being moved to a smaller room, she once again advocated for me and helped me feel safe. Coming home was just as meaningful. Josie had prepared my space, making it feel warm, peaceful, and restorative. Her postpartum care helped me slow down, release guilt, and focus on healing. Josie doesn’t just support birth—she honors it. She didn’t just support me through my C-section; she helped me heal from past trauma. Before hiring her, I wasn’t sure a doula was necessary for a C-section. Now I can confidently say it was one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made. We acquired Makayla's postpartum services for the birth of our second child and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! Despite being experienced parents, juggling the constant needs of a newborn and toddler with all of our daily household responsibilities was really challenging. Having Makayla support us a few days or nights a week to help with light household chores, meal prep and baby-wearing in addition to all the education and care she provides, really helped maintain our sanity, helped us recharge and also allowed us one on one quality time with our toddler (which can be difficult to achieve!). It was so nice to have someone come over to look after this very tired Mom and give her a break for a change! The overnight shifts were a tremendous lifesaver as well, giving everyone much needed continuous rest and energy. Her breadth of knowledge and experience were helpful refreshers and great advice for us to ensure quality care for our sons. Makayla truly is amazing and transitioned right into being our default babysitter, the only one we trust with both kids.

We did the Sacredsong package with Gabe. I wish that everyone could have access to the support that Gabe provided during our prenatal, birth and postpartum experience. She answered all of our many questions through out and offered answers to the questions we didn't even know to ask. We felt as prepared as we could be before the birth. And when baby came a couple weeks early Gabe was great at helping over the phone during contractions then transition to the hospital for the birth. She helped guide me and my spouse throughout the contractions and into the birth of our first child. She made sure we understood and communicated clearly with the midwives through out. My spouse and I are incredibly grateful she was our support person for the birth and then for postpartum. The follow up session a few days after we got home was really helpful to be able to talk through and process the birth. She was great at teaching my partner how to belly bind and guide them to help support my recovery. If we decide to have another child Gabe would be one of the first people we reached out to to get back on her books. And I have already recommended her to a couple friends. My husband wanted me to add that he felt without Gabe there to support him he would have had a more difficult time. But Gabe was able to support both of us and so he was able to be more mentally and physically present especially during the hardest parts of labor.

My biggest fear for this birth had a lot to do with the fact that I had gestational diabetes and I wasn’t sure what my labor and delivery would look like. I ended up having to be induced as a result of the diabetes. As a result labor lasted a long time and the contractions became unbearable. My doula was able to help with giving me strategies to help work through the pain and contractions. She used a few different strategies that helped me to get through a delivery with no pain medication. Her use of heat, oils, breathing and her attentiveness to my needs was the most helpful part. She was able to get me out of my own head to help me to help myself in the most productive way. The most unexpected perk of having a doula was the postpartum care. Tangela helped a lot with suggestions of how to deal with the healing process. She even provided some personally made items that I could use during my healing process. I would highly recommend DoulaSent Birth Services. The fact that I had someone to contact that would understand and sympathize but would also give practical useful tips and suggestions to remedy any troubles I had was wonderful. For anyone contemplating on hiring a doula, I would say go for it! It’s the support you don’t even realize you need until you’ve experienced it.
