hi! i’m tamara niedermann, owner and creator of the kindred feminine. i’m a witness and student of birth and birthing people and it’s an honor to be invited into your birth story. i’ve always known i’m at my best when i’m in support of the people around me. that desire for deep relationship is what has guided my journey to birth work, herbalism, and supporting the birthing and bleeding people in my community.
when my younger sister and her husband started their parenting journey, she started sharing the things she was learning about pregnancy and labor. as i watched her pregnancy unfold i learned there was another way. it took the books and documentaries i found, and new perspectives i was learning to show me that doulas, and midwives, and placentas, and breastfeeding, and herbal baths are all a beautiful and sacred part of pregnancy and birth. since then, a deep passion has grown from within me to teach others this new way to know our bodies, experience our menstrual cycles, and conceive and birth our babies.
the kindred feminine serves all birthing and bleeding people through education; teaching bodily literacy, contraception, or conception through the fertility awareness method, and pregnancy and childbirth education; walking alongside people in their conception journeys, and in their pregnancies and their births; and creating medicine through processing placentas and herbal offerings.
i'm a bisexual cis woman of color who uses the pronouns she, hers, and her. i’m a newlywed in my thirties. i'm the daughter of an immigrant single mother. i acknowledge that Black, Indigenous, People of color (BIPOC) have much worse reproductive outcomes than their white counterparts. i'm an advocate for all birthing people no matter their race, sexuality, gender, or size. i'm a birth keeper, and an herbalist. i make placenta and herbal medicine, and hold space for those who i have the privilege of serving.
