Hi there, I'm Jen, the doula and photographer! I offer maternity, birth and newborn sessions. I am married to my wonderful husband with whom I share seven energetic kiddos, ranging in age from 1 to 12 years! My personal birth experiences, a mix of hospital and home, are what ultimately ignited my passion for helping other women along in their journey to motherhood. It baffled me that so many women don't receive the support and education they deserve. My youngest 3 children were born at home, and I was then able to finally experience how powerfully transformative birth can be when done with absolute support and reverence to the process. It wasn't until the birth of my 7th child, I felt the Lord impress upon my heart to pursue birth work. After linking up with Sylvia Scarlett, I attended a DONA International doula training course with the amazing Rae Davies to gain a broader perspective of birth, aside from my very own, diverse experiences. All of which has helped shape me to become the woman, mother, and doula I am today. Hello! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Volusia County and servicing within a 50 mile radius. I got started in the birth community after the birth of my daughter. I had a wonderful experience, in part due to the wonderful midwives who attended me throughout my pregnancy and labor, as well as the postpartum doula who came to my home at 2 in the morning to help me with her when I was losing my sanity. These experiences made me want to give to other women, and I found my way into doula work. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I love doing it. Outside of my work, I spend time with my daughter and my partner, I enjoy reading and playing video games, and I have two cats and a leopard gecko. We are a group of dynamic, experienced, and caring doulas. The doulas of Orlando Birth Support Company work collectively. For our birth doula clients, you will have two birth doulas who fit your location, personality, and style of doula support. One doula will be your primary doula who is expected to attend your labor and birth. If an unexpected circumstance arises, your secondary doula will step in to provide you with the same quality of birth support. Throughout your pregnancy, you will have opportunities to get to know both of your doulas.
