I walk this path as a full-spectrum doula serving Skagit, Island, and Whatcom counties, supporting families through every phase of their journey with compassion, truth, and a deep reverence for the lineage of birthworkers who came before us. My work weaves modern care with ancestral knowing, honoring the understanding that my ancestors have always been the original doulas and community nurturers. Through Blakk Box Doula Services LLC, I offer birth, postpartum, and emotional support rooted in balance, grounding, and connection. My services include Reiki-infused massage, blessingways, placenta encapsulation resources, herbal teas and bath salts, yoni steaming, cleansing baths for trauma release, and intentional postpartum care that uplifts the body, spirit, and home. My calling is to create safe, loving spaces where birthing people feel seen, supported, informed, and empowered. Whether walking with you through pregnancy, birth, the tender postpartum window, my goal is to help you feel held—never rushed, never alone. If you’re seeking support that is holistic, heart-centered, and rooted in truth, I would be honored to walk this sacred path with you.

De’Angela is truly a gift. From the very beginning, she made me feel seen, supported, and cared for in a way that went far beyond the basics. She brings this calm, grounding energy that makes even the overwhelming moments feel manageable. She listens deeply, shows up consistently, and advocates with so much heart. What I love most is how genuine she is — she doesn’t just “do the job,” she connects. She encouraged me, reminded me of my own strength, and made sure I never felt alone in my journey. Any family would be lucky to have her by their side. I cannot recommend De’Angela enough. She’s compassionate, knowledgeable, dependable, and an absolute powerhouse of support.

Santaya Stander

4 years of experience

Hey my name is Santaya, I am a Birth doula.I work as a pregnancy coach while also being a personal trainer for delivery. I work with families to help them achieve their goals for birth. This means i meet with patients (and families) twice during pregnancy to go over needs and goals for clients birth plans. During my clients pregnancy i visit them every trimester to do a check up. In these visits i go over what to expect within that trimester and answer any of the patients questions. I also track the pregnancy in a book that i give to the patient after delivery. I offer business hours on call support to my clients. This means i will be available from 9 am-5pm for physical support, emotional support and informational support via text or call. I help assist/coach my clients with delivery at the hospital however long that may be.I don't have to do shift change. I am present during labor till a few hours after.I help support clients that decide on natural birth, epidural or C section. Postpartum clients usually feel they no longer need men after a couple hours. Most times this is natural for the family unit to adjust and adapt to normal everyday life. However, I also offer packages for postpartum newborn aftercare where I can assist with breastfeeding and overnight care of the newborn. My passion in life is the celebration of mothers. Working with women and helping women build their families THIER way. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you feel you are in need of a doula please reach out. I offer 1hr consultations in person for $25 dollars.Or free 15 minute consultation over the phone. You can contact me via email @ taya.prodoula@gmail.com. I'm now located close to Surrey\Langley but serve surrounding areas as well I am a Doula School Canada trained full spectrum doula (birth\ postpartum doula, fertility Doula and infant and pregnancy loss supporter) currently working towards my certification. Doulas are support, they are there for YOU. They are your advocates, your comfort, your guide and the one beside you rooting for you. As a Doula, my priority is for you to feel supported and empowered throughout any stage your at. Everyone’s journey through fertility, birth, postpartum or loss will look very different. Whether you have a big support system helping you or your rocking it solo, I’ll be there to help you and your support people make informed decisions. I’m all-inclusive so however you identify, or whoever your family is, is always welcome! Being apart of any of this journey with you is special and I will never judge you for any decisions. My wife and I had a very positive experience with Tiffany, first as our doula and later as a babysitter. During the doula phase, she was thoughtful, calm, and very attentive to what we needed. She never pushed her own agenda and took the time to listen and explain things clearly, which made the entire experience feel steady and reassuring. Her presence alone brought a sense of calm during moments that can otherwise feel overwhelming. Months later, when she supported us as a babysitter, that same level of care and reliability carried through. She was organized, dependable, and very gentle with our child. Communication was always clear, and we felt comfortable and confident leaving our little one in her care. It’s not easy to trust someone during such personal stages of life, but she handled both roles with professionalism and genuine care. We would not hesitate to recommend her to other families.

Aeran Jung

Hi, I’m Aeran, a birth and postpartum doula who speaks both English and Korean. As a mother of five, I bring not only my training and experience but also the deep empathy and understanding that comes from living through the joys and challenges of parenthood myself. I am passionate about supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum days, offering care that is both practical and heartfelt. I walk alongside parents with a calm, faith-centered approach, believing that every birth is a sacred and God-given moment. I aim to meet each family where they are, listening closely to your needs and helping you find what truly works for you. Every birth is unique, and I believe it deserves to be met with respect, compassion, and a sense of peace. Being present during a birth is one of life’s most beautiful and meaningful experiences, and I feel deeply honoured to support families during this life-changing time.

In 2016, when I gave birth to my first child, I want to share with you all how much help my dear friend Aeran was to me. At the time, I was living in the Surrey area and going through my pregnancy and birth journey with a midwife. Through my midwife, I learned about doula services and had already signed up for one. On the day I went into labor, mild contractions turned into active labor, and I immediately informed both my doula and my closest friend, Aeran—who had already experienced childbirth herself several times. (At that time, she was not a doula yet, but a very experienced birth “senior.”) When my contractions became less than 10 minutes apart, we headed to the hospital, and that was when the indescribable pain truly began. Even after arriving at the hospital, after a total of 17 hours of labor, I was finally able to hold my baby through a natural birth. (Halfway through, the pain became unbearable, and I did receive an epidural.) To be honest, the pain was so intense that my memories from that time are not very clear. Yet, the moments that remain vividly with me are almost all memories of Aeran caring for me so attentively. My husband and the doula were also by my side and did their best to support me, but throughout those long hours, Aeran stayed awake the entire night without sleeping even once (while my husband and the doula did manage to rest briefly). She constantly reassured me emotionally, telling me I was doing well, helped calm me down, massaged me wherever I needed, and took care of everything I required. And when my baby was finally born after that long and exhausting labor, the person who cried with joy—almost more than I did—was Aeran. (Sorry to my husband and the doula at the time, but I honestly don’t remember much about them;;;) As an immigrant, I gave birth without my own mother being able to come to Canada yet to help me. In that moment, Aeran played a role far greater than that of a mother. In fact, I don’t believe anyone else could have cared for me so devotedly throughout the entire night without any rest. So when I later heard that Aeran had decided to formally study and pursue the path of becoming a doula, I was truly overjoyed and cheered for her, knowing it was such a wonderful decision. I am deeply confident that her natural character, the way she treats people, and her strong sense of calling and passion for her work will shine beautifully in her role as a doula. Anyone who has experienced her doula services—whether as a mother or as a family member—will know that there is not a single exaggeration in what I have written here. I sincerely hope that this story helps someone who is reading this as they make their own choice.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Oksana. From the moment we met, I felt instantly at ease with her calm presence and deep knowledge. As a former OB-GYN, she brought a level of reassurance that I didn’t even know I needed—but more than anything, she was kind, intuitive, and completely focused on supporting me. During labor, Oksana was by my side the entire time—offering gentle encouragement, helping me breathe through each contraction, and using massage and position changes that truly made a difference. She worked seamlessly with the hospital staff and made sure I felt heard and respected at every stage. Thanks to her, I felt empowered and strong during my birth. I will always be grateful for her care, and I can’t imagine going through it without her. If you’re looking for someone experienced, nurturing, and dedicated to women’s well-being, Oksana is the doula for you

Hi there, my name is Joann. I am deeply passionate about birth work and understand that each pregnancy and birth experience is unique. My goal is to provide evidence-informed care that empowers families to make the choices that feel right for them. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to support families in the language they feel most comfortable with. When I’m not supporting families, I’m busy with my three children and two Frenchton pups. I love connecting with people, sharing knowledge, and helping parents feel confident and supported during this transformative time.

Joann was such an incredible support to us throughout pregnancy, labour, and postpartum. Our baby is 6 months old now and when I think of his birth, I remember how amazing it was to have Joann there. I had a planned c-section after a very traumatic delivery with my first, so I knew I wanted a doula by my side, but also to support hubby in case he needed it. Throughout pregnancy, Joann was a cheerleader, always there to talk. When our little guy decided he couldn’t wait until his planned c-section date, Joann pivoted and met us as at the hospital as soon as we needed her. She came with her bag of tricks (lol) to help me through labour (a labour I wasn’t anticipating because of the scheduled c-section), which progressed so quickly, and she was so great at ensuring both myself and hubby were supported where and when we needed. She took beautiful pics too and stayed with us until we were settled in our room. The overnight visits were a game changer, too! We love and appreciate Joann, and couldn’t imagine what the experience would have been like without her! I’ve given birth without a doula, and with a doula - having Joann there was the experience any mama deserves when having a baby <3
