I decided I wanted to Start my birthworker journey, when my unmedicated natural birth turned into a emergency C-section. Even though, I had labored at a birth center with 2 midwives. The decides to transfer me after several days of prodromal labor. My experience at the hospital was very traumatic, and left me unaware and sad. I didn’t have anyone to talk to about my experience. But my doula encouraged me to talk about it. I realized I wanted to be for other pregnant women and make a difference in how we care for pregnant women during and after their pregnancy. As a POC birthworker, I am dedicated to help women of all walks connect better with their bodies and babies,throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey.my mission is to prepare women by educating them about their birth rights, pregnancy/labor & medical interventions.I want women to feel more empowered and confident in every aspect about their birth. She lacked a strong support system, and self-advocacy was a foreign concept to her. All she knew was to follow doctors' orders. So, she suffered through her first HG pregnancy without treatment, showed up at the hospital at the first sign of contractions, and birthed her baby via cesarean for reasons unknown. When she became pregnant with her second child a few years later, she was more intentional in finding a care team to support her in achieving her birth goals. She hired doula-midwives from whom she received all of her prenatal care. Despite Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) and other stressors negatively impacting that pregnancy as well, having an attentive and supportive care team that centered her needs and respected her bodily autonomy influenced a more positive and empowering experience. Inspired by her journey, Brittany felt compelled to pay it forward. She believes everyone deserves a safe, informed and empowering birthing experience. Recognizing the implications of birthing while Black in America, she actively challenges coercive healthcare practices and, alongside many dedicated birth workers, strives to improve the state of Black maternal and infant healthcare.

Hi, I'm Chloe! I am a mom to two beautiful children and a Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula through Stillbirthday. In my free time, you'll find me reading, baking, or taking care of our little homestead. I have dreamed of being a mom since I was a child. I knew for a very long time that it was a calling; I discovered doulas and thought, "I would love to do that." I was blessed to have a wonderful one support me through birth, and that only further lit the fire within me to chase that dream and help support moms through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
