I’m a first-time mom due in December with a baby girl and plan to give birth at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. I’m looking for a calm, supportive, nonjudgmental birth doula who is experienced with hospital births and strong with advocacy. I’m currently not in the best place with my partner, so having someone who makes me feel safe, supported, and heard is really important to me. If at any point I decide I no longer want someone in the room, I need my doula to advocate for me and involve hospital staff so I don’t have to handle it myself while I’m in labor. I’d also like help with breathing, positioning, pain management, and communicating my birth preferences. I have EmblemHealth and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and would prefer someone who accepts either insurance or can help with reimbursement. Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required.

My husband and I have been back and forth with the idea of a home birth for our second child. I would really like meet with a midwife or doula for some more information and create a birth plan that works for me and my family.
