Hello and CONGRATULATIONS! I began providing birth support to friends years ago, but without formal training. More recently, I encountered women who gave up or never initiated breastfeeding and so, became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Then, as I continued my education in that field I found significant statistical proof for the positive impact Doulas have in birth and thereby, lactation. So, it made sense to finally certify :-D I’ve completed DONA training and am in the process of meeting their certification requirements.
