Amanda is such a huge blessing! She is very knowledgable and a comforting, supportive presence during such a vulnerable time. My husband and I were not originally going to hire a doula, but at the last minute (8 months pregnant) we decided we would want the extra support for our home birth as we are both first-time parents. We found Amanda through Facebook recommendations, and she was able to meet with us quickly, answer all of our questions (even bring up points we hadn't thought of yet), and provide us with the resources and knowledge to have a successful home birth. She does offer some prenatal education classes and while we were not able to attend the first session due to how late we found each other, the second session was so worth it - especially the exercises for pain management! The day of labor she was quick to respond to us and even coordinated with our midwife so that I could focus on my labor and my husband could focus on me. She provided excellent guidance and support to my husband so that he was the one comforting and helping me during labor and she was able to step in when needed. She even took care of our dog! We truly could not have asked for a better experience or a better doula than Amanda, and we have both said that we would absolutely work with her again if we are still in the area!

Susan is absolutely amazing and I would recommend her to anyone! My husband and I had never considered the idea of having a doula for my pregnancy and birth of our son, but then we attended a class that she helped teach. The benefits of having a doula were explained and we instantly knew that we wanted to have one. Susan was so informative, excited about her work and welcoming - we connected with her right away! We loved how involved she was from the very beginning of us deciding to work with her. She met with us to determine if she would be a good fit - which she was! Once we hired her as our doula, we had multiple lunches to discuss our birth preferences and to answer any and all questions we had. During birth and delivery, she helped us determine when contractions were close enough to head to the hospital, she helped me work through the pain, and made us feel safe and prepared. When it was time for me to push, my son had the cord wrapped around and his stats were dropping. Susan, the doctors and the nurses helped keep me calm throughout that and made sure me and baby were safe! Once our son was born, Susan stayed with us to help with skin to skin and with the initial breastfeeding. We were so worried that I would have a traumatic birth, but with Susan by our side that was absolutely NOT the case. If / when we have another baby, we will 1000% have her by our side again - we LOVE her!

Supporting them through tangible tasks, navigating feedings, diaper changes, baby's laundry, sleep training and light cleaning up, while nourishing them with home-cooked meals, or simply holding non-judgmental talk space for anything that's on their mind. My unltimate goal is to empower the parents, providing them with the resources, knowledge and skills they will need to continue the postpartum journey comfortably even when my duties ends. Allowing the mother to rest and recover quicker, also allowing the father to rest as well. For bookings i can be contacted by my cell: 934-867-6890 or email: bennettdebbie7575@gmail.com

I am Isamarys Medina Rivera, a birth and postpartum doula. I was living in Puerto Rico, until my age of 21. I am the youngest daughter of a family of four, composed of a geriatric nurse mom, one older sister and a brick mason dad. Since the beginning of my life, I’ve always had a passion for a career in maternity fields. When I moved to Virginia, I decided that it was time to embrace that passion, especially being surrounded by Hispanic moms who feel vulnerable, because of the language barrier, as well as overwhelming emotions. My desire to become a support for women grows every time I meet single moms and Hispanic families. The best way for me to become that support was to become a Doula. Inspired and motivated by this passion, I took the Birth and Postpartum Doula training with DONA International. After that I created my business, Amarys Doula, Child of the moon. As a Hispanic military wife, I know how hard can be. And by experience, I know how hard it can be to give birth and have a healthy postpartum, when your military partner is not around. That is why I am always looking to assist military families. After I took the training for Birth and Postpartum Doula, I added a placenta encapsulation services, because I believe it is important for my clients to be able to benefit from their own nutrients available in their placenta, such as iron, sodium, potassium, and phosphorus, to help them regain their strength and give them a piece of art that their bodies bodies created. After my first postpartum experience, mature moms have a special place in my heart, and it will be more than an honor serve them. I help my birth and postpartum clients with respect, love, and I give them all the evidence based information possible. It is my goal that they feel confident and empowered during labor and postpartum. I will be there to help them adjust to this new life, including working with their body, using services such as Yoni steaming. I serve in the Hampton Roads area and reside in Norfolk. If you have any question do not hesitate to contact me. I speak Spanish natively, and also speak English

My name is D’Starr, and I have over 15 years of experience supporting birthing people and families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with calm, informed, and compassionate care. I serve my community as a birth and postpartum doula, a trained monitrice providing limited clinical support, and a maternity self-care specialist. My work is rooted in evidence-based practice, cultural awareness, and deep respect for physiologic birth and family autonomy. In addition to my doula practice, I have completed my formal midwifery education and continue to work within a home birth midwifery practice while preparing for the national midwife certification examination through the National Association of Registered Midwives. This allows me to offer families strong clinical insight alongside continuous emotional and practical support. I am especially passionate about supporting families who desire informed, empowered births and attentive postpartum care. My goal is to help clients feel confident, seen, and supported throughout one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.

Starr is so much more than a birth doula! She is like family. We met before I had my baby and mentioned I wanted to get my hair braided before I went into labor and she said she's a licensed cosmetologist too, so I asked her to braid my hair at our next appointment and she did not disappoint! Then at the birth she was so knowledgeable and understanding. Me and my family definitely felt safe and secure with her by our side.

Shantella was great throughout the process of my pregnancy. She made it much easier physically, mentally and emotionally! We met a little later into my pregnancy but she stepped up & made me comfortable as ever in every way possible! During my labor she was there the whole way, never left my side and she talked & comforted me through the entire delivery 😭 now that we’re home she’s been doing visits, being a BIG help and just making sure my baby and I are okay. She’s been a very important piece to my puzzle and I’m so grateful for her! Thanks Shantella, I’ll definitely be recommending you to everyone I know love !!!
