My husband and I worked with Jamie in the fall of 2021, when our first son was born. We chose a 'virtual' package, with options for video calls, phone calls, and texting. This service was exactly what we needed, and I honestly cannot say enough positive things about Jamie in this review. Her constant advocacy for the health and happiness of our son (and therefore his parents!) was incredible, including acknowledgment, understanding, listening, asking questions, and providing thoughtful recommendations (solutions to try) or references (for example to other local providers) for us to use. She even connected us to other parents selling used baby gear to purchase products to try. Knowing she had my back was such a crucial part of our first few months, and now I tell everyone if there's one thing you do for yourself and your baby in the birthing process- it's to hire a postpartum doula. Everyone should be so lucky to have Jamie have their back, available for that phone call or text when you're having your toughest moments. The reassurance is invaluable. For us, we didn't feel we needed someone in our home in person, but we needed that number to call when we had questions, and that's exactly what the virtual package provided. We give Jamie ten stars, not five, and we highly recommend working with her!

My name is Carisa Niemyer and I work as a doula and doula trainer in Colorado SpringsI found my way into doula work through the birth of my first child. My story didn't go exactly how I wanted and my baby had her own story of how she wanted to be born, as these babes often do. But after my delivery I felt so empowered and supported and loved my story. Much of the reason this was true was because of the support of a doula. That experience led me into the world of birth work and I have now been a doula for 18 years, working in both birth and postpartum, as well as training new doulas at Birthingway College of Midwifery in Portland OR as well as in my own training organization here in Colorado Springs. I am passionate about supporting families in whatever their birth choices are, and believe non-judgemental, continuous support thought a families journey can make all the difference! I have worked with a lot of families over the years and each story has been unique and beautiful. I have experience is both high risk and low risk pregnancies. Hospital births as well as home births. I also have experience with twins and triplets, both in birth and postpartum work. My hope is that each family I work with feels empowered and supported in whatever choices they make as they boldly enter this new season of life!

When I tell my birth story, I always end up singing Carissa's praises! She was there for us as we prepped for the birth of our first son and was by my side throughout labor and delivery. She was so encouraging and grounding and kept me going throughout an extremely exhausting labor process. My homebirth didn't go as expected, and I ended up pushing for over 3 hours at home before I transferred to the hospital and eventually ended up getting a c-section due to really tricky positioning. Carissa was by my side from 7 am to about 1 am the next day when my son finally arrived. At home, Carissa encouraged me, helped me try every position imaginable to encourage my baby to come down, and helped my husband know how to best support and love me. When we transferred, Carissa was by my side the whole time, explaining things to me and helping us make choices for each next step. When we finally went in for our C-section, I was able to pick one other person to be there, aside from my husband, and Carissa was the obvious choice (even over my sister and my midwife, both whom I adore, of course!). Carissa also took the most amazing photos with one of our phones during the surgery and I'm so thankful to have those memories! She was there for me in recovery and helped my son latch for the first time and continued to be a support to me in postpartum. I tell ALL of my friends who are having babies to hire Carissa, and of course, it was a no-brainer that she would be by my side as I deliver my second baby in a matter of weeks! If you're looking for a doula, look no further!

I cannot say enough about my doula, Molly. She supported me before and after we learned of our son Waylon’s passing with incredible compassion, patience, and strength. From the very beginning, she was there every single moment I needed her, making sure I never felt alone. Molly helped create the birth space I envisioned, holding it with such care and intention. She made sure everything flowed smoothly and aligned beautifully with my wishes, even in the most heartbreaking of circumstances. Her presence brought comfort, safety, and love in a time that could have felt unbearably heavy. I will always be grateful to Molly for walking alongside me in such a sacred and difficult moment of my life. She is truly a gift to any family she supports.

Working with me as your postpartum doula is like having a big sister who is there by your side to help guide and teach you. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Recent review

Linnell was great! Helped us so much in the transition to become new parents, from advice, to tips on calming the baby, and helping us sleep between feeding stretches. She helped us triple feed and follow exactly the peds orders; she was also awesome about remembering any adjustments or requests we had! Checked in on both my mental health but also my partner’s, which was very nice, especially in the immediate postpartum period. She kept a running list of my baby’s activities during the night—from wake periods, poops/pees, feeds and how much he would take from the bottle. Great about offering advice and letting us make the decisions. Overall, a very sweet, calming, and accommodating doula. She really tries to go above and beyond to make sure the whole family feels taken care of (including my pup)!

Making the investment to have supported Postpartum care, especially from an Ayurvedic perspective was not just exactly what I had wished for, but I cannot FATHOM a greater gift for the health of our newborn child. I felt like a peaceful, supported, and loved Momma through the whole process which truly allowed me to be the most present with our newborn. Emily is an actual angel on earth. I only wish that every single birthing person had this type of postpartum support. Our little one is now 5 months old and I believe WHOLE-HEARTEDLY that his gentle, calm, and happy disposition is a result of the care and safety that I felt postpartum which allowed me to be fully present with him. Emily worked diligently and silently doing all of the big and little things that afforded us as a new family the maximum amount of time together to just marinate in our little love bubble. I didn't have to think (EVER) about what I was going to eat, or if I had hydrated enough, about eating the right things etc. Not only was my belly nourished, but she helped with postpartum massage, belly wrapping, provided a listening ear, and left me with so many helpful herbs, tinctures, and magical Ayurvedic potions. I am forever grateful for my time spent with Emily who I am sure will now be a lifelong friend. Thank you Emily! Infinitely! Your gift is something undeniable. We are FOREVER grateful. Love, Avani, Andrew, Rio & Suni

Joanna was the most supportive, insightful, and resourceful doula I could have asked for. In addition to being experienced in the birthing and medical field, she cares deeply about the client and their family, ensuring that their birth plan reflects all their wants and needs. When things couldn't go according to plan, having Joanna's wisdom and compassion was invaluable - my husband and I literally don't know what we would have done without her in many high pressure moments. The postpartum component to Joanna's services are equally valuable and have helped me tremendously in my physical/emotional healing, as well as the transition into the fourth trimester and beyond. Thank you, Joanna - may all moms be so lucky to work with you!

I have always been drawn to birth work and I've chosen to practice as a doula because I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and prepared throughout their birthing journey, regardless of what life path you're on. I'm committed to empowering you to advocate for yourself and your baby, encourage you to attain the birthing experience you want and be there every step of the way to empathize and validate your emotional journey.

Recent review

Discovering I was pregnant at the young age of 19 in January of 2023 was a daunting realization, as it wasn't part of my immediate plans. Uncertainty clouded my thoughts, but I knew I needed guidance regardless of the decision my partner and I made. That's when Jenn stepped in. From the onset of my pregnancy journey, Jenn provided unwavering support, extending beyond childbirth. She offered exceptional advice on nutrition, prepared me for the birthing process, and most importantly, empathized with my emotional journey, understanding my desires for both myself and my child. During labor, Jenn remained a constant presence, offering guidance through every step. From walking the hospital corridors to assisting with pain relief methods and ensuring optimal posture through breathing techniques. Her swift response to my hospital admission due to preeclampsia exemplified her dedication. After 11 hours of labor and 14 minutes of pushing, my beautiful daughter entered the world, and any apprehensions about being a young, first-time mother faded in that moment of pure connection. Jenn's reassuring words were a beacon of strength throughout, reminding me of my capabilities even in moments of doubt. Reflecting on my birthing experience, I am filled with gratitude for Jenn's support. I wholeheartedly endorse her as an exceptional doula, and I am grateful for the opportunity to relive that transformative journey in my mind because of her.
