Heather is a CAPPA certified postpartum doula who specializes in newborn care, lactation support, sleep coaching, cooking for families, and cultivating physical and emotional wellness for new mothers. Heather finds great joy in being able to help guide new parents through the struggles that can arise during the postpartum period, allowing them to focus on the joys that come along with a new baby. Heather’s love for supporting families started 20 years ago while helping her mom with their in-home child daycare. This work, along with the birth of her own son, led Heather to become a postpartum doula. Her own experience of the postpartum period has inspired the loving, intentional support that she provides to families during such a transitional time in their lives. When not working you will find Heather enjoying the great outdoors with her husband, two small children and pup Lyla, or relaxing at home with a new cross-stitch

My name is Lyssa Zawalski, and I am a postpartum doula undergoing certification with DONA. My path towards becoming a postpartum doula was a winding one, with stops along the way as a teacher, social worker, and product manager. While I have found a depth to each of these titles, becoming a postpartum doula has felt like so much more. Quickly after giving birth to my daughter, I realized that I was underprepared and undereducated on what came next. Postpartum was filled with navigating solo parenting, PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), and lack of a “village.” Once enough time had passed and I could more objectively look back at my postpartum period, the most glaring observation was that I had desperately needed help. I needed support in understanding how to feed my baby, what infant sleep looked like, how to find ways to take care of myself (which felt impossible at times). Having a postpartum doula would have changed my postpartum experience as well as the early years of parenthood. I cannot imagine a more tender time to support a family. I truly believe the care and support that we receive in our postpartum period determines so much of how we start our parenting journeys. Thank you for being here, and thank you for trusting me with the most precious pieces of your heart.

Greetings! I'm Karisa Totah, a certified birth doula and postpartum doula (through DONA International). I'm also Spinning Babies trained and plan to go through the Body Ready Method training this winter. I live in Littleton, CO with my husband, near my best friend and her babies. I serve the Denver Metro area, usually within 25 miles of my home. Birth, babies, and parenting have been a life-long fascination of mine, even since I was little. I nerd-out over the smallest baby and birth details and absolutely adore helping and learning from each new family I meet. I firmly believe that both the research and my experience support the idea that doulas reduce anxiety. The birthing year can be such a challenging one if you don't know what to expect, don't have the support you need, and don't have people watching out for you. I love filling in the gap to educate and empower, support and love, encourage and help you find joy in this journey. My motto: "Replacing anxiety with courage, fear with knowledge, discouragement with hope, and overwhelm with joy."

My name is Courtney Moore Rodriguez. I am a certified lactation educator (CLE), certified postpartum doula (CPD), and certified infant and family sleep specialist (IFSS). I am here to support your family in person (within the Denver metro area) and/or virtually…from the time you find out you’re expecting, through your baby’s first birthday. In those first few weeks and months, it can be hard to ask for help. I am a strong believer in helping families to help themselves (with a good amount of time for rest and self care thrown in too). Rather than taking care of your baby for you, I make sure that you have the skills, knowledge, and rest to do it on your own. I assist families in a non-judgmental fashion and always strive to meet you where you are. I am up to date on the latest research regarding infant feeding, sleep, and newborn care, and can give you non-biased information so that you can make informed choices that work for your family.

As the oldest sibling in my family, nurturing has always come naturally to me, lending me to become a birth doula. Certified by the Colorado Birth and Wellness Center, I am passionate about quality care and education during pregnancy and labor. I utilize evidence-based practices and techniques like Gilligan's Guide*, words of affirmation, and physical touch to support your birth. My role is to advocate, educate and encourage families, wherever and however they choose to deliver. Let's work together to make your birth experience a treasured one. *"Gilligan’s Guide is an algorithm (a graphic chart that is easy to follow) which assists the pregnant person’s body to rotate their unborn infant into the optimal or best position for birth. We refer to this as “Maternal Positioning for Optimal Fetal Positioning”. It is safe, simple and efficient for everyone to use." It is proven to reduce laboring time so that you can have a positive birth experience.

Hello! I’m Liana (she/her) and I’m thrilled that you’ve found me! Beyond my ever-increasing passion for all things birth-related, I am a big fan of reading rom-coms, dragging my husband out on adventures with our three kids, extroverting (is that a word?) with friends, and generally enjoying this hectic and lovely life. Now on to why you’re here! After the birth of our first child, I realized there were some big gaps in the childbirth classes that we took. Before we became pregnant again, I was researching what we had missed and awoke a passion for childbirth and maternal care that has only deepened over the years. After our three kids were born, I became a Childbirth Educator in 2017 and a Birth Doula in 2018. I also delivered two babies as a gestational surrogate in 2019 and 2021. I love supporting families of all kinds, including (but not limited to) biological families, adoptive parents, LGBTQ+ parents, single parents, and surrogates and IPs. I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi! I'm Lisa! I'm a Christian Doula and Childbirth Educator in SE Aurora, CO. Right now I'm offering birth support in all birth settings (as long as you have a midwife or OB), and Childbirth Education in my home or your home! My faith is the foundation for my life, and most of my clients find and choose me because I stand strong in Biblical truth and moral values. I am a mom of 5, and wife to a husband who is a systems engineer, so I have great perspective as a mother and can relate well to new dads that might be more analytical and logic-minded. Music, art, reading, and all things creative are my hobbies, and I love to spend time in nature. I have experience supporting families with every kind of birth plan, from natural home birth, to hospital epidural birth, to planned cesarean. My favorite kind of birth to support is YOURS. My name is Sydney, and I’m a birth doula. I've been a doula since June of 2020, and work both privately and in a freestanding birth center. I love the outdoors, and you can often find me hiking, road biking, or rock climbing. I also play guitar, read birth books (and novels!), volunteer in the Rose Medical Center NICU, and am a high school student! As a doula, I aim to bring peace, knowledge, reassurance, and joy to everything that I do. I will support you in any choices that you make and be an affirming presence in the room. I help with position changes, counterpressure, massage, and breathing techniques, as well as teaching the partner how to assist! As a young doula, I aim to work mostly with young parents, and specialize in helping them navigate systems and advocate for the birth experience that they want. I also identify as part of the LGBTQ community, and love working with those clients as well. However, this being said, I've supported many types of family systems, and feel very comfortable with a diverse client population.

¡Hola! My name is Karen and I am a fierce advocate for reproductive justice. I love Sistersong’s definition of reproductive justice, which is, “the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.” Therefore, I seek to support people within their journey, honoring their bodily autonomy and rights, which is why it is important for me to support birthing people, those seeking to release their pregnancy, and parents wanting to create safe and nurturing environments. I am a Spanish-speaking birth and postpartum doula who is passionate about making sure the birthing person is feeling empowered, liberated, and heard throughout their pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum. I am also an abortion companion and will provide you with unbiased, nonjudgemental support and unconditional love. I believe wholeheartedly that your body knows how and what to do, and that you know YOUR body the best, so I will support you in whatever YOU feel is best for you. I know you have a voice and I value that, so I will advocate WITH you. Birth and the transition to parenthood, as well as the postpartum after birth or an abortion (spontaneous or medical) is a mental, physical, and spiritual shift, so I approach my work with clients in a holistic and trauma-informed way. To be a part of your journey is an honor and a privilege and I will treat it as such when you let me hear your story, enter your home, meet your family, and be a part of a transformational moment in your life.
