I’m Chaya, a DMV native and proud mama to three beautiful children. Since beginning my student midwifery journey in 2021, I’ve come to truly appreciate the profound importance of ‘intrinsic’ birth. My journey started in nursing, with the aim of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. I earned my CNA license, NRP/CPR certification, and full-spectrum doula certification in 2019. In 2020, I began apprenticing as a student and birth assistant for a local home birth midwife. Running Nova Birth & Wellness and working part-time as a clinical tech in a local hospital’s L&D unit has further fueled my passion.
