Hi there! I’m Ashley- a Certified Birth Doula through A Woman Who Serves, a certified Childbirth Educator, Placenta Encapsulator, and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. My philosophy of birth is that it is made to work! A mother is innately designed by God to birth her babies, and when supported in the right way, she can leave her birth feeling empowered. My goal is to support a family in whatever way they feel is most important- through education, hands-on support, emotional support, and encouragement. I would love the chance to speak with you to see how I could best serve you during this special time!
Frederick, Maryland
Hello! I'm Danica, a Certified Birth and Postpartum/Infant Care Doula. I am a traveling doula based in Frederick, Maryland and want to assist others in their birthing and parenthood journey. After being a support person for many years, I decided to become a doula. As a doula I have made it my goal to be a part of the village that everyone deserves by providing quality care and attention from the time you contact me, through the transition home with a new little one. I am an inclusive person and welcome diversity within my clients. I am open-minded and respect my clients ideals and beliefs- all are safe from judgement with me.

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) with experience in assisting breastfeeding in all stages, from pregnancy to introducing solids to weaning. I graduated in 2021 from the University of Maryland with my Masters in Public Health and have been working ever since to advance community health through education and advocacy. During my first pregnancy, I found the idea of breastfeeding to be overwhelming and despite my background in public health, I felt entirely unprepared for what to expect. Because of key support figures like my lactation consultant and my mom, I was able to work through the challenges and breastfeed my daughter for over two years. Breastfeeding is often framed as something stressful, stifling, and painful. While it can be all of those things at times, with the right support I have found it to be joyful and rewarding. I believe it is time to step aside from the useless debate of breast is best vs. fed is best (which ignores the unique context of every individual), and instead focus on supporting parents and infants through individualized approaches to the goals and environments of each family. My goal is to help you find joy in your own feeding journey and succeed in a breastfeeding relationship that is mutually beneficial, enjoyable, and meaningful for both you and your little one. I can’t wait to work with you!

I also have training in gentle pediatric sleep conditioning, COVID safety, CPR/AED/First Aid, Safe breastmilk handling, multiples care and safe infant sleep practices. I have experience providing overnight care, 24 hr care, daytime newborn care as well as travel care. I have worked with families of different ethnicities , religions and orientations, and I am always enthusiastic to learn and follow newborn care practices that are sensitive and inclusive of the families culture. If you choose to have me work with your family, you will find me to be enthusiastic, understanding, diligent, flexible, discerning, level-headed and nurturing to the parents, the baby and other children (and pets) in the home. I genuinely enjoy working with families and newborns, and my favorite part is the exciting privilege of guiding parents through the exhilarating, and at times confusing and frustrating, world of newborns, to a point where they are confident, well rested and enthusiastic about peaceful days ahead as a family.

Hi! My name is Chaya! I’m a mom of 3, full spectrum doula, photographer, placenta encapsulation specialist, and student midwife. I dove deep into birthwork 5 years ago after the birth of my daughter (19y). I was so shocked at how the level of care in the US, was far behind other countries. I wanted to serve, educate, and provide wholeheartedly to my clients. I love to learn and educate, myself. I believe in autonomy and full informed consent, so rest assured, you’ll always have my guidance but full on support for whatever decisions you decide are best for you!

I help sleep deprived parents master the art of getting their newborns and toddlers to sleep through the night and improve daytime sleep by using age appropriate, gentle sleep approaches catered to your child. I am a certified baby + toddler sleep consultant helping parents (like you) reclaim your sleep and your sanity by providing proven techniques that will improve the quality of you and your baby's sleep patterns. My passion is for helping others. I know first hand what it's like to be an exhausted, frustrated parent just trying to get through each day with a child who refuses naps, wakes often throughout the night and is inconsolable. I want to help parents out there, not just get through each day, but LOVE each day with your child, and that starts with better sleep for everyone. I can't wait to meet you and learn all about your family!

Hello everyone! My name is Donna-Lee Bellamy and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula. I am VBAC Link trained and I am also a birth photographer. I became a doula because I am passionate about helping women have the birthing experiences they deserve, and doing everything to avoid postpartum pelvic floor damage if possible. I can truly say doula work is my heart and I hope I can serve as many mama's as I can.

West Springfield, Virginia
Hey there! I'm Jenn Carlson, your friendly neighborhood doula! I call Springfield, VA home, where I live with my husband, Eddie—a rock musician who moonlights as a film critic. (Or maybe it’s the other way around? Either way, there's a lot of passionate reviews in my house!). I spent over two decades as an IT pro and a stage manager before diving headfirst into my most exciting production: raising two amazing daughters. Both of their births were high-drama—think less "rom-com" and more "medical thriller." But those experiences sparked a fire in me to help other women feel empowered during labor, and thus began my journey as a doula. Since 2013, I've been lucky enough to attend over 700 births and help nearly 300 new moms recover through the magical art of placenta encapsulation (yes, it’s a thing and it’s awesome). I'm a CBI and DONA Trained, Madriella Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, a Childbirth Educator, an AHA Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR instructor, a certified Reiki practitioner, and a placenta encapsulation specialist. Whew, that’s a mouthful! My goal? To be whatever my clients need. Natural-minded or more into the medical approach, I’m here to make sure you have the birth experience you want—with all the options on the table. My definition of a successful birth? One where the mom feels respected, empowered, and ready to write her own birth story, no matter how her baby arrives. Because education is key, I teach breastfeeding, infant CPR, newborn care, and childbirth classes. I've got experience with Bradley and Hypnobirthing techniques, and I bring along my trusty rebozo and TENS unit to help families through labor. I also have special training to support moms who have experienced trauma or loss, and a big, soft spot for high-risk mothers like me who need to know they have options. So whether you’re looking for a bit of guidance, a lot of support, or just someone to laugh with while you figure it all out—I’m here for you!
