My Budget is no higher than $5000 as I just need someone there for the birth. I'm not one to say that you need 20 years experience but preferably someone who's been doing this for more than 5. I am 18 years old and this will be my second child and a VBAC delivery (My obgyn has cleared me for VBAC). Really just looking for somebody that will show equal concern as I and be a supportive friend. I am looking to have a home birth, but this would be my first one and I have a history of high blood pressure, so we may need to at least discuss the possibility of a hospital birth. My budget is around $6,000. I like to spend most of my labor in my bathtub. For this birth I want to have a midwife with me to coach me through to the end of labor so I do not have to leave the comfort of my own home. I want to delay cutting the umbilical cord as well.
