I am Drea Kelly, the founder of River Wild Doula Services, and I am so happy you're here! I'd love to share a bit of my story in hopes of someday hearing some of yours. ​ It has been my joy and privilege to partner with families as a doula for the past 18 years, serving them as they make some of the biggest transitions in life. I have always known I was called to this work... to hold space in the sacred, in-between places where we are transformed by the rivers running wild through us. My name is Meghan Boudreau - Doula and Placenta Encapsulation specialist with River Wild. On any given day, you will find our home full of giggles, singing, dance parties, coffee aromas, and home cooked meals - just the way we like it. If you ask my children what I do, they will tell you I “help mamas get the babies out”. Bless. ​ I was submerged into the birth world at a very young age, witnessing home births and having a deep relationship with our family midwife. Labor, placentas, and babies were very normalized topics in our house. Hi! I'm Lacey Dowlearn! I am a Birth Boot Camp certified Childbirth Educator and Certified Birth Doula serving Round Rock families. My journey in birth work began in 2007 with the first pregancy in my group of friends. She had mentioned wanting a midwife and I started researching. I had caught the birth bug and was hooked! The idea of women helping women made my heart happy. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to be an apprentice midwife at several freestanding birth centers; labor support for homebirth, birth center and hospital clients in Round Rock and surrounding areas and have recently certified as a CBE and Doula with Birth Boot Camp. I've been married to my partner, Danny, since April 2008. He has supported me through this journey and is a great partner. I am a mom to two beautiful little girls, Annie and Jane. Both of my births took place in my home accompanied by a midwife, my very first midwifery preceptor. I breastfed both of my babies for 2 years, tandem for 6 months. That was such a wonderful and bonding experience. I want to provide the best care to each mother who trusts me with her birth experience, whether that be in hospital or at home. I believe that having a positive birth experience is the right of every woman. I will strive to help each mother and baby have a special delivery.

I was inspired to pursue birth work after becoming a parent and experiencing how powerful and transformative the birthing process is. I also do this work because it brings so much joy and connection. I believe that supporting families during such a vulnerable and sacred passage in their lives, providing access to care, educating and overall empowering birthing people to trust their bodies and intuition is truly fundamental for healthy maternal/ birthing outcomes. I was born in Guatemala and moved to the states when I was 7 years old. Spanish is my first language. I got a Bachelors in Marketing at Missouri State University and moved to Austin shortly thereafter. I have been married for 6 years to a man who makes me laugh. Amelia is a DONA trained birth doula (2019) from Minnesota. She holds a BA in Global Studies with emphasis on South American studies and Global Public Health. Birthwork found her when she was working on a research project about women giving birth in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Following her project, she immediately got trained as a birth doula and hit the ground running. She was a volunteer doula for the first part of her doula career while simultaneously working as a health educator in non-profit clinics in both Minneapolis and Austin. Amelia eventually adhered to her calling and shifted to working in birthwork full time. For Amelia, birth is a sacred and ceremonial part of life. She is passionate about advocating for families and following their lead as they go through this transformational experience. Amelia enjoys incorporating essential oils, movement, meditation, mantra, and light touches of humor into her work. Outside of birthwork you might find Amelia teaching yoga, travelling, hanging with her cats, or hiking with her partner.
