Hello! My name is Saskia, and I am so excited to be a part of your pregnancy/postpartum journey! I have been a Registered Nurse for five years working in Postpartum and Labor units across America. My experience with high-risk mothers & newborns has helped me see just how special the birthing experience is. Seeing couples turn into a family for the first time, or seeing siblings introduced to their new brother/sister warms my heart to no end. It’s an amazing feeling to know that a new bundle of joy has entered the world and that I had the opportunity to be a part of it! While my years working in the hospital provided great learning experiences, I realized that my passion lies with mothers and newborns in their home environment. From the perspective of a mother, I have recognized the importance of the parent's mental and physical well-being. As a result, I have recently completed postpartum doula and lactation consultant training. While preparing for the international lactation examination, I continue to serve in each of these areas and feel passionate about supporting families transitioning from neonatal intensive care (NICU) to home. The exhaustion and emotional and physical trauma of parents at this stage is profound. My training in these areas allows me to weave these skills to support parents and newborns of all levels of need as a single provider. Embracing families from birth through early childhood with ease and compassion is my passion. I did my CAPPA training in May 2024, and completed the certification process in June 2025.
