Hey there, I'm Megan Taylor. Let me give you a peek into who I am and what I'm all about. My journey into lactation support and doula work has been a blend of personal experience and professional dedication. After witnessing the challenges many new mothers face with breastfeeding, both through my own journey and while serving families as a doula, I realized the critical need for better support systems, especially here in San Antonio. I am an IBCLC, birth and postpartum doula, and Certified Childbirth Educator. I have specific training in Low Milk Supply and Reflex-based Oral Function. I'm also proud to hold certifications as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and Certified Childbirth Educator. What drives me in this work is the opportunity to meet families where they are, to share in their challenges and victories. Beyond the cute babies (though they're a definite bonus!), it's those "me too" moments, those shared experiences, that fuel my passion. In my practice, I take a "wholistic" approach, ensuring that both the breastfeeding person and baby receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. I firmly believe in instilling confidence in mothers, providing practical support, and connecting families with the resources they need to thrive. When a mother feels uncertain or overwhelmed, I strive to validate her feelings and break down the care plan into manageable steps. It's all about empowering resilience and offering support that meets families where they are. As for techniques, I'm a big believer in the basics: skin-to-skin contact, innate feeding reflexes, and yes, even a "nipple spa day" to promote healing and comfort. Outside of my professional role, you'll find me soaking up quality time with my family, buried in a good book, or indulging in some reality TV escapism. I might joke that I'm more of an “indoorsy” type, but I cherish our outdoor adventures just as much. In the words of Amethyst Joy, "Postpartum is a quest back to yourself. Alone in your body again. You will never be the same. You are stronger than you were." It's a sentiment that resonates deeply with me as I walk alongside families on their journeys through birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding.

Hello! I'm Miranda Perotti, a dedicated IBCLC, BSN, RN. As a lactation consultant, I've embarked on a journey fueled by my passion for supporting breastfeeding families and empowering them to achieve their feeding goals. With a background in nursing from Abilene Christian University, I bring nine years of invaluable experience in the Women's Health field, evolving from a labor and delivery nurse to an IVF nurse coordinator, and finally finding my calling as a lactation consultant after the birth of my first daughter. My journey into lactation consulting was inspired by the incredible support I received from my own IBCLC during my breastfeeding journey. Facing numerous challenges early on, her knowledge and guidance were pivotal in helping me navigate through the hurdles. Now, I'm driven by the desire to pay it forward and assist other families in their feeding journeys with the same level of care and expertise that I received. With a holistic approach to lactation support, I believe in the power of knowledge and support above all else. Less is more, and I strive to empower families with the confidence and skills they need to succeed without relying on unnecessary accessories or interventions. What I find most rewarding about supporting breastfeeding families is witnessing the joy and fulfillment when they meet or exceed their original feeding goals. I tailor my support to meet the unique needs and preferences of each family. By understanding their daily life, work, cultural practices, and family dynamics, I develop personalized plans that are realistic and achievable. When mothers feel uncertain or overwhelmed about breastfeeding, I offer a compassionate ear and work collaboratively to navigate through the challenges. I often recommend the Koala hold, laid-back feeding, or biologic nursing, as I've seen firsthand how these approaches can facilitate efficient feeding even in the face of early difficulties. Drawing from my own breastfeeding journey, which included experiences with preterm birth, a NICU stay, oral restrictions, and feeding success despite the hurdles, I offer reassurance and support to parents, reminding them that their current struggles are temporary and that brighter days lie ahead. Outside of my professional role, I find solace and rejuvenation in outdoor activities like gardening, camping, and hiking. I also love to try new foods! Join me on this transformative journey, where together, we can navigate through the challenges and celebrate the triumphs of breastfeeding parenthood!

Hello, I'm Krysta Paulo, BSN, RN, IBCLC, and I'm honored to journey alongside families as they navigate the beautiful, sometimes challenging, world of breastfeeding. For the past four years, I've poured my heart into lactation support, drawing from a rich background in psychology and nursing. My journey into lactation consulting began during my time as a Mother/Baby and NICU RN, where I found myself drawn to the intricacies of breastfeeding. Witnessing the profound bond that forms between mother and baby during these tender moments ignited a passion within me to offer unwavering support to breastfeeding families. My approach to lactation support is grounded in a belief in individualized care and empowerment. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, I work closely with each family to create a plan that aligns with their unique goals and values. Whether it's virtual visits or in-person consultations, I meet families where they are, ensuring that their concerns, preferences, and aspirations guide our journey together. What I find most rewarding about supporting breastfeeding families is witnessing that magical moment when it all clicks - when a mother fully embraces her role and settles into her new identity with confidence and grace. It's a moment I cherish deeply, knowing that I've played a part in fostering that connection. Outside of my professional role, I find immense joy in being a mother and a small business owner. Creativity fuels my spirit, whether I'm working on projects with my Cricut or exploring the great outdoors. As for breastfeeding, it's not just a job for me - it's a deeply personal journey. Becoming a mother myself after becoming an IBCLC opened my eyes to the profound bond it creates between mother and infant. It's a sacred, irreplaceable connection that I wish every mother could experience. In the breastfeeding journey, I believe that the role of other family members, whether it's partners, grandparents, or siblings, is invaluable. Their support and understanding can make all the difference, providing a strong foundation of encouragement for the breastfeeding dyad. When a mother feels uncertain or overwhelmed about breastfeeding, I offer reassurance and guidance, reminding her that breastfeeding can look different for every mother and baby. Together, we explore communication signals and techniques that resonate with her unique situation, empowering her to trust her instincts and find her rhythm. As for techniques or methods, I advocate for a baby-led approach, embracing the natural instincts of both mother and infant. It's a journey of discovery and connection, guided by love and trust. In essence, my role as an IBCLC isn't just about offering lactation support - it's about nurturing relationships, fostering empowerment, and celebrating the beautiful bond between mother and baby. And I consider it a true privilege to be a part of each family's breastfeeding journey.

I have been preparing birthing couples since 2013. Unhappy with the support I received during my first birth, my sister encouraged me to take an independent childbirth class. My second birth was healing and my third birth was empowering. This started my passion for safe, natural when possible, and empowering birth. I have since become trained in Spinning Babies, Rebozo use during labor, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Bengkung belly binding. I have taught over 300 couples and attended dozens of births, either as doula support or as a midwife birth assistant. I am a certified breastfeeding specialist that is currently going through the process of becoming an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I'm married to my best friend of 10 years and we have 3 vivacious children together. Two of those children are deaf and we enjoy learning ASL and signing together. When I'm not reading articles about birth, I can be found chasing my kids around the park or folding laundry. It’s a toss up. My birth stories are all different from each other. I believe this shapes my teaching. My first birth, I did not know about the Bradley Method®. My mother gave birth in Vietnam without drugs and her only advice was “you just do it”. Because she said she did it, I thought naturally I would be able to and did not consider learning different coping techniques. For my first birth, unable to cope with the pain, I began to hold my breath and tense up. This ultimately caused my labor to stop and I was given Pitocin and the cycle continued. I eventually was given an epidural and my son was born by vacuum extraction. My daughter, my second birth, on the other hand has a completely different birth story. I had a short, six hour labor. I firmly believe learning all the physical exercises, practicing relaxing, and knowing the best birthing positions sped up the birth and caused me to give birth with ease. I was calm and happy after giving birth. By the time the doctor arrived I had already breastfed and my daughter was sleeping peacefully. He was amazed and commented on how we as a family appeared stoic. My third birth was a quick homebirth. I was excited to practice everything I had been teaching! My husband caught our last child and we consider it our best teamwork. Both my husband and I noticed a big difference in how I felt after my last two births. Because of the vast differences in my birth experiences, I feel the need to tell every women. What better way than by becoming a Bradley instructor.
