Sabrina De La Rosa

7 years of experience

Welcome! I’m Sabrina de la Rosa, an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), dedicated to supporting mothers and babies on their breastfeeding journey. As a mother of four, all of whom I breastfed, I understand the challenges and joys that come with breastfeeding. My passion for lactation began in 2016, inspired by my own experience as a new mother. This led me to become a breastfeeding support volunteer, and ultimately to pursue certification as an IBCLC. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Maternal Child Health from UI&U, which deepened my understanding of the unique needs of mothers and infants. For over 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching pilates and wellness practices to women in my community, blending my love for fitness with my commitment to health. This holistic approach to well-being is the foundation of my lactation practice. Through my private practice, Nature’s Nectar Lactation Support, I offer personalized, compassionate lactation care to mothers and babies in the Rio Grande Valley. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to achieve your breastfeeding goals. Whether you are struggling with latch issues, low milk supply, or just need guidance along the way, I am here to help. I also work with the State of Texas through the Department of Public Health, advocating for maternal and infant health and supporting families in achieving optimal health outcomes. Living in Texas with my husband and four children, I am deeply honored to serve my community and help mothers achieve success with breastfeeding. I believe that breastfeeding is not just about nourishment—it’s about creating a powerful bond between mother and child. I look forward to supporting you and your baby on this incredible journey.

LaDereka was and has continued to be our emotional and healthcare question support through pregnancy as a teacher (daddy boot camp), doula and newborn care specialist. She was key to helping us understand our options and what to expect when my pregnancy went from normal and healthy to a diagnosis of gestational hypertension with bed rest at 34 weeks. LaDereka helped us rewrite our birth preferences to accommodate an induction at 37 weeks and led us through the different interventions and natural options we could try before agreeing to an intervention. LaDereka remained by our side through out the labor process as a trusted guide and second opinion with which to weigh the nurse and doctor’s suggestions and feedback. It was great to be able to ask questions and understand the process even when our nurse was attending to other patients. Although we ended up delivering our happy and healthy baby girl via caesarean, I know we tried everything we could have for a natural birth. As our newborn care specialist LaDereka was there on night 1 to ease our transition from hospital to home. Dad is getting to sleep through the night and takes over when her shift ends in the morning and mom is enjoying 8+ hours of sleep each night (with pumping mixed in!). Not only has LaDereka’s care of our newborn allowed us to prioritize sleep and my recovery, she’s a wonderful resource for lactation and all things baby care.

In 2013, she started her career working for a Neuro-Oncologist in Houston who specializes in treating brain cancers. She married her husband, Brian, in 2014. After she experienced breastfeeding difficulties with her own tongue and lip tied baby her journey towards supporting breastfeeding dyads began. In 2017, She returned to work and switched fields of nursing, leaving private practice and entering into the hospital setting. She worked as a postpartum mother/baby nurse at St. Luke’s and quickly became part of the lactation team, having the privilege to enter into many families' first feeding moments and experiences with their newborns. In 2018, she gave birth to her first son, who was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect and who spent 1 month in the level IV NICU. During this time, she experienced exclusive pumping for the first 3 weeks until she was allowed to breastfeed him in the NICU. She continued to pump while separated until he came home, where she was able to breastfeed him. In 2020, she became pregnant with her 3rd child. During her pregnancy she obtained her CLC while working towards obtaining her IBCLC. She gave birth to her second son in the Fall of 2020. She has been a licensed IBCLC since January 2021, and later joined Bayou City Breastfeeding that Spring. Lisa has successfully breastfed all three of her children through various challenges including returning to work. More recently, she has become certified with the Child Sleep Institute after having difficulties night weaning her own 2 yr old at the time. The Child Sleep Institute has given Lisa the tools needed to help support families experiencing difficulties in their child’s sleep.

Hey there radiant moms and families! 🥰 I’m Jennifer, a passionate Maternal-Child Health advocate with over two decades as a Registered Nurse and Community Health Educator. My journey began in New Orleans where I graduated from LSU Health Sciences Center’s School of Nursing. My love for Maternal-Child Health truly blossomed after witnessing a Midwife-assisted delivery while in nursing school. From an RN at The Birthing Place at Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, to volunteering post-Hurricane Katrina, and moving to Houston pregnant with my twins, my passion for supporting moms intensified during my tenure at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas. I soon realized teaching was my calling. 🍎 As a Certified Childbirth Educator, teaching an array of topics from Infant CPR to Marvelous Multiples, I specialize in empowering parents. And my own NICU journey with my preterm twins fueled my commitment to lactation support. In 2014, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor, and soon after, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Contributing to The Woman’s Hospital of Texas becoming the first Baby-Friendly Hospital in Houston is a badge of honor for me. My heart is with the fierce moms and their tiny NICU warriors. With my professional and personal expertise, I was pleased to bring my passion to my community by leading the opening of Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital’s Lactation and Perinatal Education Departments. Come 2022, I joined the fantastic Bayou City Breastfeeding crew! Now, from our Webster and West NASA Offices to your cozy homes, I'm here for you. 🏡 Outside of work, I cherish time in Pearland with my husband and four children, engage in my church’s Women’s Ministry, and daydream about sandy beaches. Hello! If you're seeking a holistic, family-centered approach to lactation, infant feeding and parenting support, I'm Suzanne, and I'm here for you. My journey began in 2003 with the foundation of Merry-Go-Round in Kingwood, a haven for moms seeking both community and lactation guidance. By 2014, I was instrumental in establishing a breastfeeding-friendly environment at The Woman's Hospital of Texas. Shortly after, I teamed up with Dr. James Liu, known for his expertise in addressing oral restrictions. Together, we ensured comprehensive care for families grappling with challenges like lip and tongue ties. However, my passion didn't stop there. Recognizing the need for more tailored support, Bayou City Breastfeeding was born in 2016. We passionately believe in empowering parents, firmly holding that they are the true experts on their children. In today's often confusing landscape of parenting advice, we bridge the gap. Beyond mere lactation advice, we're here to build lasting relationships, offering insights on everything from infant feeding to mental health, viewing each family holistically to ensure everyone's needs are addressed. Professionally, I stared out as a Certified Lactation Counselor and achieved the gold standard International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant certification in 2014. I value contnuing education and have pursued additional training in numerous areas related to breastfeeding and infant feeding. Presently, I'm honored to serve as President of HALCEA, nurturing growth in the lactation community. On a personal note, I'm privileged to celebrate 24+ years of marriage and the joy of parenting. Outside of work, I relish running, reading, and painting. I'm here to stand by you, ensuring you feel valued and heard on this incredible journey.

Hi there! I'm Amanda Wilson, RN IBCLC, but you can just call me Mandy. Let me give you a glimpse into my journey and approach to lactation support. My path to becoming an IBCLC was deeply personal. After facing my own breastfeeding struggles with my first son in 2015, I realized the critical need for accessible help and support. As a Labor and Delivery nurse, I made it my mission to aid new moms with breastfeeding, often becoming the go-to person when lactation support was scarce. This passion led me to obtain my IBCLC certification in December 2021, following years of dedication in the field. With a background in both nursing and lactation support, I blend the best of both worlds in my practice. I have a holistic approach, preferring conservative options and homeopathic remedies while valuing the importance of Western medicine when needed. What drives me most in my work is witnessing the triumphs of breastfeeding families. From setting goals to achieving milestones, I find immense joy in helping mothers bond with their babies through breastfeeding. Every family is unique, and I tailor my support accordingly. By discussing specific goals and concerns, I create individualized plans to meet their needs. And when uncertainty or overwhelm arises, I offer validation, simplification, and a focus on small victories. In my practice, I believe in the power of different techniques for different situations. From co-bathing to utilizing nipple shields when necessary, I advocate for responsive parenting and safe co-sleeping while educating parents on their options. Beyond my professional role, you'll find me hitting the pavement as an avid runner. For almost 25 years, Saturday mornings have been reserved for 10+ mile runs with my running crew. As Thomas Edison wisely said, "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always just to try one more time." This quote resonates deeply with me as I continue to support and empower breastfeeding families on their journeys.

Hey there, I'm Priscilla Jackson, your go-to Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) ready to guide and cheer you on every step of your breastfeeding journey. From Cypress to Kingwood and Spring/Klein to Conroe, I'm here to offer support, encouragement, and a whole lot of love. My journey into lactation consulting was sparked by my own experiences as a young mother. When I had my son at 19, I was clueless about breastfeeding. But with the unwavering support of my son's aunt, an experienced IBCLC, we overcame every obstacle and breastfed for 3 amazing years. Her passion and dedication inspired me to pay it forward and become a lactation consultant myself. For the past 4.5 years, I've been proudly serving as a CLC, and I recently sat for the IBCLC exam in April 2024. With a holistic approach to lactation support, I believe in empowering moms and reminding them that they're doing an incredible job, even when the journey gets tough. The most rewarding part of my job? Being your biggest cheerleader. Whether you're navigating shallow latches, nipple shields, or breastfeeding jaundice, I'm here to provide the tools, encouragement, and unwavering support you need to reach your breastfeeding goals. When you're feeling uncertain or overwhelmed, remember that it's okay to adjust your goals and take things one step at a time. And as for techniques, I'm a big advocate for baby-led latch – because there's nothing more incredible than witnessing the natural instincts of a newborn baby. So, if you're ready to embark on this beautiful journey of breastfeeding, I'm here to be your guide, your confidante, and your biggest supporter. Let's make magic happen, one latch at a time. Outside of work, you'll find me indulging in my love for baseball and hockey with my family, escaping into the pages of a fantasy book for some much-needed alone time, or hitting the road for some camping adventures with my closest friends.

Hello, I’m Katelyn Kleiber, and I’m passionate about empowering families on their breastfeeding journey. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Lactation Consultant (RLC), I’ve dedicated my career to supporting new parents and their little ones. I took a unique path to becoming an IBCLC. Unlike many others, I started working in lactation before experiencing my own breastfeeding journey. But my fascination with a woman’s incredible ability to grow and sustain life has been with me since childhood. This lifelong passion for women’s health led me to explore various avenues within the field. Then came my “aha” moment: lactation. I realized there was a significant gap in support for postpartum families, and I felt drawn to fill it. Guided by this newfound purpose, I embarked on my journey as a lactation consultant. Since July 2022, I’ve officially held the title of IBCLC. However, my journey began earlier—back in December 2021—when I worked with clients as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) and intern. These experiences shaped my approach to lactation support. I firmly believe that our bodies and beings are interconnected. When working with families, I consider both mother and baby as part of a system. It’s essential to address complications on both sides. But my philosophy extends beyond medical care. I create realistic, sustainable plans that preserve positive relationships around feedings. Breastfeeding isn’t just about nutrition; it’s a beautiful dance between two souls. I encourage laid-back breastfeeding, allowing families to feed without cumbersome nursing pillows. Babies can use their reflexes to their advantage, making feeding a more natural experience. At Bayou City Breastfeeding, we’ve designed a care model that allows us to continue supporting families over weeks, months, or even years. These meaningful relationships are incredibly special. Witnessing progress and positive changes during our journey together fills me with joy. Breastfeeding success isn’t a solo endeavor. Families—partners, grandparents, and all—are crucial. Their support eases the transition into life with a newborn. Together, we create a nurturing environment where everyone plays a vital role. Every family is unique. I take the time to understand their goals, challenges, and dreams. Whether it’s baby-led latch, side-lying bottle feeding, or other techniques, I tailor my recommendations to fit their specific situation. Realistic, doable plans ensure families thrive. Breastfeeding can be overwhelming. When mothers feel uncertain or stressed, I work collaborativel with the mother to identify stressors and create a personalized strategy to minimize discomfort. We’re a team, supporting each other through the ups and downs. When I’m not helping families, you’ll find me exploring the world. Traveling allows me to learn from different cultures and connect with people. I’m an avid reader, diving into books that expand my horizons. And nature—oh, how it rejuvenates my soul! Whether hiking through lush forests or strolling along sandy shores, I find solace in the great outdoors

My path to becoming an IBCLC was paved by my own experiences breastfeeding my children. Five years as an IBCLC and three years prior as a CLC have given me a deep understanding of the joys and challenges that come with nurturing little ones. I believe in taking a holistic approach to lactation support, seeing the breastfeeding dyad as more than just the baby. By addressing the physical, emotional, and environmental factors at play, I'm able to provide comprehensive support tailored to your unique needs and preferences. I firmly believe that family members play a vital role in the breastfeeding journey. Where there's support from partners, grandparents, and other family members, successful breastfeeding flourishes. Comfort is key in my book! I'm all about getting cozy during feedings and practicing skin-to-skin contact to enhance communication between you and your little one. It's not just about optimizing latch and effectiveness – it's about strengthening the bond between parent and child. What fuels my fire? It's the incredible feeling of helping families reach their infant feeding goals and supporting them every step of the way. When I'm not in my professional role, you'll likely find me in the kitchen, whipping up delicious meals and experimenting with new recipes – cooking is my happy place! Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm Brandy, a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a passion for helping mothers and babies on their breastfeeding journey. My career in nursing began in 2006, where I initially found my calling in the labor and delivery unit. Witnessing the miracle of new life and being a part of that special moment filled me with joy and purpose. However, it was my personal experience with breastfeeding challenges that truly ignited my passion for lactation and breastfeeding support. As a mother myself, I faced hurdles and uncertainties in my breastfeeding journey that led me to dive headfirst into the world of lactation science and support. This transformative experience sparked a desire to empower and guide other mothers through their own breastfeeding challenges. Becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in January 2018 was a pivotal step in my journey, solidifying my commitment to providing evidence-based care and guidance. In late 2020, I made the decision to transition full-time into private practice, allowing me to dedicate my expertise exclusively to supporting mothers and babies in their breastfeeding endeavors. With years of hands-on experience in labor and delivery, coupled with my specialized training as an IBCLC, I bring a unique blend of medical expertise and compassionate care to every interaction. I understand the physical and emotional aspects of breastfeeding, and I am committed to providing personalized guidance tailored to each mother's individual needs. When I'm not assisting mothers and babies, my faith and family keep me grounded. I'm a proud wife and mother of two wonderful sons. My own family experiences have deepened my understanding of the complexities of parenthood and the importance of a strong support system. Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to being a part of your breastfeeding adventure.❤️

Hey there, I'm Megan Taylor. Let me give you a peek into who I am and what I'm all about. My journey into lactation support and doula work has been a blend of personal experience and professional dedication. After witnessing the challenges many new mothers face with breastfeeding, both through my own journey and while serving families as a doula, I realized the critical need for better support systems, especially here in San Antonio. I am an IBCLC, birth and postpartum doula, and Certified Childbirth Educator. I have specific training in Low Milk Supply and Reflex-based Oral Function. I'm also proud to hold certifications as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and Certified Childbirth Educator. What drives me in this work is the opportunity to meet families where they are, to share in their challenges and victories. Beyond the cute babies (though they're a definite bonus!), it's those "me too" moments, those shared experiences, that fuel my passion. In my practice, I take a "wholistic" approach, ensuring that both the breastfeeding person and baby receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. I firmly believe in instilling confidence in mothers, providing practical support, and connecting families with the resources they need to thrive. When a mother feels uncertain or overwhelmed, I strive to validate her feelings and break down the care plan into manageable steps. It's all about empowering resilience and offering support that meets families where they are. As for techniques, I'm a big believer in the basics: skin-to-skin contact, innate feeding reflexes, and yes, even a "nipple spa day" to promote healing and comfort. Outside of my professional role, you'll find me soaking up quality time with my family, buried in a good book, or indulging in some reality TV escapism. I might joke that I'm more of an “indoorsy” type, but I cherish our outdoor adventures just as much. In the words of Amethyst Joy, "Postpartum is a quest back to yourself. Alone in your body again. You will never be the same. You are stronger than you were." It's a sentiment that resonates deeply with me as I walk alongside families on their journeys through birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding.

Hello! I'm Miranda Perotti, a dedicated IBCLC, BSN, RN. As a lactation consultant, I've embarked on a journey fueled by my passion for supporting breastfeeding families and empowering them to achieve their feeding goals. With a background in nursing from Abilene Christian University, I bring nine years of invaluable experience in the Women's Health field, evolving from a labor and delivery nurse to an IVF nurse coordinator, and finally finding my calling as a lactation consultant after the birth of my first daughter. My journey into lactation consulting was inspired by the incredible support I received from my own IBCLC during my breastfeeding journey. Facing numerous challenges early on, her knowledge and guidance were pivotal in helping me navigate through the hurdles. Now, I'm driven by the desire to pay it forward and assist other families in their feeding journeys with the same level of care and expertise that I received. With a holistic approach to lactation support, I believe in the power of knowledge and support above all else. Less is more, and I strive to empower families with the confidence and skills they need to succeed without relying on unnecessary accessories or interventions. What I find most rewarding about supporting breastfeeding families is witnessing the joy and fulfillment when they meet or exceed their original feeding goals. I tailor my support to meet the unique needs and preferences of each family. By understanding their daily life, work, cultural practices, and family dynamics, I develop personalized plans that are realistic and achievable. When mothers feel uncertain or overwhelmed about breastfeeding, I offer a compassionate ear and work collaboratively to navigate through the challenges. I often recommend the Koala hold, laid-back feeding, or biologic nursing, as I've seen firsthand how these approaches can facilitate efficient feeding even in the face of early difficulties. Drawing from my own breastfeeding journey, which included experiences with preterm birth, a NICU stay, oral restrictions, and feeding success despite the hurdles, I offer reassurance and support to parents, reminding them that their current struggles are temporary and that brighter days lie ahead. Outside of my professional role, I find solace and rejuvenation in outdoor activities like gardening, camping, and hiking. I also love to try new foods! Join me on this transformative journey, where together, we can navigate through the challenges and celebrate the triumphs of breastfeeding parenthood!
