I am a birth and postpartum doula, NICU mom, and a military wife, whose passion for this work was shaped by my own early motherhood experience. I had my first baby halfway across the country during COVID, farm from family and community. That season taught me how powerful it is to feel truly supported, and it became the foundation for the way I show up for other families. I have had the honor of supporting friends and families through both home births and hospital births, and I love walking alongside parents through the many different paths birth birth can take, with a professional foundation in Kinesiology, I understand deeply how the body functions in pregnancy and birth, and how movement and positioning support physiological labor and how to help reduce strain and injury during this transformative process. I blend evidence based education with holistic, intuitive care to offer support that is both grounded and nurturing. At the heart of my work is a simple intention. I show up for mothers the way I would want someone to show up for my daughter one day. My name is Laporcha Foster most people call me LaLa. I am from Houston, Texas and I am a mother to 4 beautiful souls (3 girls and 1 boy). I am a traveling birth/postpartum doula who is also an end of life doula (helping others transition over to the after life). I became a doula after realizing nursing school wasn’t for me. I wanted to be a L&D nurse then a Nurse Practitioner so I could deliver babies. One day I was talking to my spiritual coach who told me my ancestors told her I was a medicine healing lady, and my life purpose was to be a midwife. I never thought to be one even though I heard so many people talked about having midwives and doula when I was pregnant with my son. I decided to do some research and I fell in love with the results and became a certified trained birth/postpartum doula through Madriella Doula Network. Being other women and families support system is my top priority. Rather it’s in a home, birthing center, or hospital I’m there!
