Birth Plan Support People - Husband (primary support person) - My mom (for additional emotional support if needed) Environment - Quiet, dimly lit room - Soft music playing - Calm, low-stress atmosphere Labor Preferences - I would like to be able to move around freely during labor - Open to guidance and support from staff as needed Pain Management - I prefer to labor without medication - I am open to pain relief options (including epidural) if it becomes too overwhelming Delivery Preferences - I would like a squatting water birth - I am okay without a mirror - I would like coaching and guidance while pushing After Birth Preferences - Immediate skin-to-skin contact with me, then with father - Delayed cord clamping (wait until the cord is white before cutting) - Please do not clean the baby immediately (prefer to delay for up to 3 days if possible) - Plan to breastfeed Medical Interventions - I would like to avoid episiotomy (cutting), forceps, or vacuum assistance - C-section only if absolutely medically necessary Additional Notes - Please communicate clearly with me throughout the process - I value a calm, supportive environment and informed decision-making We dont really know our budget, just not too expensive. I’m am looking into a midwife and what that entails
I am looking for a doula/midwife who can support my natural/physiological birth plan and who can advocate for me within the hospital setting. I want to be free to move around during labor, possibly use a labor tub, push with my contractions instead of purple pushing, and deliver my placenta naturally. I would prefer a doula/midwife who I knowledgeable about hospital policies and feels comfortable advocating my wishes while I am focused on breathing through contractions.
I plan to give birth at a birthing center. My budget is $2,000. I plan to have a very relaxing calm unmedicated birth. I definitely need someone that’s certified with at least 10 years of experience. Someone with additional duties for cooking and laundry.
